I was thinking, because the effects are going to be state of the art and current trend in movies is to show off "state of the art Visuals", lets hope they dont decide to make a transformation sequence slow. By that i mean that it takes some time for the process to occur, allowing the fx guys to put so much detail, like its some big advanced process, with part locking in, this all being shown to well, show off fx....

Lets not forget, When a autobot robot jumped into the air by the time it hit the ground it was a car.. Lets hope they dont slow it up to show off FX, lets hope a transformation is super fast.....

the only time i want to see it slow is if it's going in slow mo or something for an action sequence

Hopefully they'll keep the Transforming sound effect too.

As long as it doesn't take as long as it did for me to transform my action figures, I'll be fine. The audience would be dead by the time it was done if that was the case.

the speed of transformations will be based on the pace of the story and the need for it to happen....

the speed shouldnt' always be the same, and should also vary depending on which transformer is doing it....to assume they would all take the same amount of time is realistically a tall tale...

Supposedly they are keeping it...but making it more mechanical-sounding, like gears grinding and shifting panels.

Yup I agree...even in the cartoon, each TF transformed at different speeds and some even had slightly different TF sound effects...such as Hot Rod had his own individual TF SFX.

I wouldnt mind the very first one being slo-mo with all the gears moving and locking, but from then on it would be fast.

true, true, one of the transformations should be done in full slow motion......to showcase all the details....but after that.....fast fast fast

yeah, the first transformation should be in slow mo and look all cool and stuff while the "You got the touch! You got the powweeeeerrrr!!!!" music plays in the background.

You know what's funny...
At one point there was a rumor that Optimus Prime would be listening to a radio station and that song would come on and he paused to listen to it for a few seconds and then changed the channel.

I think the rumor turned out to be a fanboy-wank that got outta control.

hahaha, I would not only get goosebumps if they had that in there, but I would laugh out loud in the theater.

Nice, and yeah that should be the speed of transforming

That's still too slow. Just go with the speed of the cartoons, it was almost a blur. Plus, I'm surprised Hasbro has never sued Citroen, unless they're doing that under license. I would say if Gremlins can win over Furbee, then Hasbro can push for infringement over transforming cars into robots.

Hasbro can't sue.
Transforming Robots aren't Hasbro's personal subject matter. There are so many other transforming robots that Basbro could never sue.

Also there are a lot of names of Transformers Hasbro can't use anymore, such as Hot Rod, who now must be called Rodimus.

The speed in that was just fine. It looks good, and makes sense (or as much sense as a transforming alien robot soldier makes).

You just contradicted yourself. If it's alien, it can transform as fast as it can and it needs to be faster than that. Think action scenes, that thing would be shot down before it could become a robot.
