But, if you recall, she's far too hideous for a superhero movie. :o

Oh, and I forgot the two biggest new properties in Hollywood.

And of course, there is Pitch Perfect.

I would have included Emma Watson, but she built her career on HP, which was a pre-Cinematic Universe world. But most would be willing to throw real money behind anything she wanted to do.

Her ugliness saved her from a disaster. :o

Personally, don't think they come much more attractive then Miss Woodley, but that's just me. And my brother, who adores her.

Disney needs to sell Tron to another studio instead of just letting the property set on a shelf gathering dust.

I don't think they'll sell it. If Bob Iger and/or Alan Horn are feeling generous, they'll let Kosinski shop around to see if another studio will take it on.

If that happens, I can see a Dumb and Dumber To-type deal: Another studio will put up the money and release it, while Disney gets a profit share and keeps the rights to make a follow-up. (New Line Cinema let Red Granite Pictures finance DD2, which Universal distributed. NL got screen credit, a cut of the profits, and retained the option to make a third film.)

It'd be easier if another company co-owned the Tron franchise, like Walden Media did with Narnia, but I can't see Disney letting Tron go completely.

After what happened with Narnia, it would have been better sitting on a shelf.

Reboot in a few years. That's what me and someone were talking about on twitter tonight.

Those got worse? I remember seeing the first around when it came out or so and finding it pretty meh. I didn't realize Tilda Swinton and James McAvoy were in it until recently. :funny:

Yep, Leto and Tilda are in it. Both are terrific, which makes them sucking worse. The sequels were so lifeless, they hurt. I caught them all on cable eventually. Didn't bother in the theaters.

Not surprised by this news at all.

Disney dragged their feet with this. They were clearly not committed to a sequel. Tron Legacy simply was not the success they wanted. It's a fact.

''but they said that it made enough money''

Mad Max : You know hope is a mistake

The movie didn't bomb, but look, if it made twice what it did, we wouldn't be having this debate over four years after the fact.

It wasn't a profit. They probably made into the black (if i'm using the term correctly) which not a whole lot of nothing. A sequel doesn't promise real profit either.

Well, this is disappointing, though not surprising. I really enjoyed Legacy; the story had some stuff that didn't really work but the visuals were fantastic and I liked the characters. I would have definitely been up for returning to the Grid.

Oh, well.
