What would you guys think of a solo Cap book in the Ultimate universe? I like what they did with the character in the Ultimates and I am always down for new Cap titles, especially since he is currently um...well, you know. I'd read it for sure. Would anyone else care?
 
I have a strong disliking for Ultimate Cap.
So that's a no from me.
 
Yeah, I kind of dislike U Cap, but that's why I'd buy this title, if it had a good team on it. Actually, I think I'd like an Ultimate Invaders that centered on Cap.
 
Why is everyone against Ultimate Cap? I know the character was altered, but is that why? Ultimate Invaders? That could be cool too. WWII or Iraq war though?

He comes off as a bit of a dick, and most are used to a more personable Cap. 'Course, I don't mind too much. Way I see it, his dickishness is just a by product of his struggling to adjust to modern times, modern politics, and modern military.

Personally, I don't like him because he's supposed to be the very symbol of the American spirit, yet he's a complete jack***.

But go figure he was a giant dick/*******/*****ebag and overall horrible human being. Ultimate Cap is good for a fight, but for anything else, he's an arrogant ass the equivalent of dog **** on the bottom of my shoe.

I like Ultimate Cap. :up: And I like his infantry helmet mask a la Ultimates 2.

Ultimate Cap is the sum of every cliched joke about the character ever made by people who haven't read any of his stories, but judge him by his name. He's a jingoistic, ignorant thug.
 
I like Ultimate Cap - after all, he's the embodiment of what Ultimate Marvel was meant to be. 616 Cap will always be my favourite of the two, but Ult Cap is the realistic version; after fighting long and hard in a bloody war, coming back decades later and being thrown into a team of superheroes with a strange new government...what guy wouldn't be a little bitter and twisted after that?

I like Ultimate Cap. He beats up wife beaters and kicks mass murdering, Steve Buscemi looking, emo dumb s**ts in the face while they're down, and is not afraid to kick a guy in the balls. How could you not love that? He's the true embodiment of the American spirit.
 
I like Ultimate Cap. If I had just gotten a bunch of my bones broken by Banner's dumb mistake, I would have kicked him in the face. I think Cap and ultimate cap are both different. Ultimate Cap reminds me of a tough as nails old timer who is really strict and won't take no for an answer. Captain America makes me think of what my girlfriend's grandfather might be like if he was younger, tough as nails and uncompromising, but with a very kind heart.

At first I liked Ultimate Cap because I thought 616 was way too corny. Then I actually read stories about 616 Cap that didn't simply make him out to be some lame anthropomorphic flag. Ultimate Cap sucks. He's not interesting and hasn't been since the first Ultimates arc. Hell, everyone on Ultimates is a raging *******.
 
Well I think Ultimate Cap is Realistic Cap. I love the 616 Cap, but he was sometimes too phony. Too without flaw. Ultimate Cap gives us that. Why can't he be a dick sometimes? And complaining that he is pro millitary and fights terrorists is a problem in the Ultimate universe? Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Cap a boy who volunteered for the Army? Did he not go and kick Nazi ass through out WWII? Of course he is pro millitary. He's Captain America, and he wasn't the captain of the high school girls volleyball team.
