Ultimate Comics Thread - Part 1

Ultimate X #5 Preview! Now with narration boxes! This what i digged about Loeb's 5 issue run, each issue literally comes with 2 stories, you got the protagonist and then you got the narrator. Seems like Hulk's reasoning to be with the Ultimate X was because he knew the the truth, there are good mutants and not all are terrorists, oh well his "membership" stays for a mere issue since Hickman wants him in Ultimates. :p

I wish we didn't have to wait 5 years between issues. This is getting Hulk vs Wolverine bad.

What purpose does having the Hulk in Ultimate X serve? don't get me wrong I love the series, but it just sort of seems really weird that he's in this last issue, then never again.

Because this was originally suppose to be a bi-monthly series and if it hadn't suffered any delays we would have gotten 12 issues worth of content otherwise before DoSM/Avengers vs. New Ultimates would have concluded, so we can't know for sure but the Caption Boxes seem to give the idea that Bruce Banner wants to help the mutants, because he knows they're good people out there too, and despises that the Government has made them all illegal.

Symbolic wise he represents "Beast" he's the scientist nerd guy with agility, strenght and whatnot. EDIT: Oh and Hulk like the Mutants is a government creation more or less, thats why he's part of it, kinda like how Human Torch will be.

Ultimate Fallout #1 teaser art or as i'd like to call it: Heroes getting their steam off by raging, 'tis a hard day for these heroes, this issue is pretty much Ultimate Spider-Man #161 and it's penciled by Mark Bagley:

You know you'd just love to see Spidey survive and come back from the dead for these guys' sake. :(

For my sake, too. He's the only current version of Pete I'm attached to since Spectacular Spider-Man got cancelled.

Bendis prepares for Ultimate Relaunch! He gives good information about the Ultimate Fallout. #1 is Peter Parker's funeral and how his supporting cast feel about it, #6 concludes the Parker stuff with Nick Fury, Aunt May and Gwen Stacy. #2-3 deal with Ultimates and X-Men and #4 has the new Spider-Man appear and #5 is more Ultimates and X-Men.

Unlettered preview for Ultimates #1! It's Captain Britain, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Odin drinking beer with a Bear! :D Thats what comics need! Alcoholic bears! Oh and apparently a old school villain returns, who could it be? Hopefully not another Loki arc.

Looks pretty good - though wondering why it appears Jamie Braddock is now Captain Britain

From what i can gather, Brian died in Ultimatum. Millar decided to ignore this, but Jonathan Hickman respects the continuity despite if it was a bad kill from Loeb.

Latest issue of Ultimate X was kind of a let down. Hopefully Spencer can do something better with the characters.

Oh thats for certain, i mean Thunder Agents is a pretty praised book and thats a team book so he must know what hes doing, thats good. I actually liked the conclusion to Ultimate X, heres my thoughts/rambles on #5: Ultimate X brings a great conclusion to Loeb's Ultimate Marvel run, and despite having some rough times to sheer rage moments, i'm very glad his run ends with a more positive note and well a good story, i mean New Ultimates either wouldn't had been this negative if it wasn't for the sheer stupidity how Ka-Zar, Shanna, Black Panther and Zarda just leave the team to make way for Millar's last arc, i mean sheesh that was just ridicilous. Spoilers:
One of the big reveals here is who was the mystery helper for Karen Grant and we learn that it was none other than the king of kings himself: Nick Fury! I thought that was a great reveal and it makes sense, but it still comes off as a very positive move because right now i'm still thinking of Millar's Nick Fury whos willing to do anything to get his job back. The 2nd mystery reveal is the ally of Quicksilver but is that also what it seems or is there even a bigger person pulling the strings? The reveal of Wanda being alive isn't a surprise, she is a reality bender and no mere gunshot should have stopped her, now because Ultimates 3, Ultimatum and Ultimate X have happened so long ago alot of things are forgetten, but i must remind that Ultimates 3 concludes with Magneto thinking both his children are dead, but the book ends with Quicksilver tearing up, so he clearly wasn't dead and then Ultimatum ends with Quicksilver talking to a woman who clearly was either Wanda or his mother, now we know which, but yeah she looks abit messed up for sure.

I liked the idea they had with the Hulk, i wonder if Hickman will go with the original intention Millar had that they put implants on Hulk's head so he can be in more self control, but yeah the government is creating the big evil serum to stop all Mutants, i do wonder is Quicksilver wanting a reverse serum that makes all humans into mutants as a middle finger to the government, that'd be funny. I can't wait for Nick Spencer to take over and start telling us his Mutant stories, but i do hope we can also get Alex Summers that was implied during this issue.

So long Loeb, thanks for Ultimate X.

I still think Spencer's Ultimate X-Men series sounds like ****.

I have zero reason to care about ultimate x-men since everyone is dead last I checked. Is everyone still dead?

That issue of Ultimate Fallout is looking pretty solid. I think I honestly would have preferred it as the end of Ultimate Spidey instead of as an Ultimate mini but still looks like good stuff.

Avengers vs. Ultimates #6 preview! The big finale!

Art is looking great as usual, i love Hitch's variant cover but how did the editorial not notice the colorist made Black Widow wrong? Thats not Monica Chang at all! :(

Gregory's technology is so beyond this universe, he has to be somehow connected to either Kang or he truly is "the biggest genius" out there, but still it's great we're actually getting Gregory vs. Tony Stark family feud!

that Ultimate Fallout seems pretty much like a rehash of what they did in Requiem after Pete "died" in Ultimatum.
