It got moved to december, reportedly because it was so well received by people who had seen it, and so it's been moved to oscar season.

Wondering whether this means it will be shown at a film festival now

:cmad: Well crap!!!!
I was really looking forward to this movie, now almost a year before release..
One week before Star wars is going to get you buried one would think...
Its going to get lost in all the hype ...

Well I'm honestly not sure how well it would have done in March, I agree it probably shouldn't have been moved a week before TFA, but I guess they are aiming for a different market, and hoping Oscar hype generates it more money than it would have done in March.

On another note, I think one of the other things that I'm looking towards seeing in this film, involving Thor, is his attack on Hydra.

Bong doesn't count? Snowpiercer is one of the ten best reviewed films of the year and worldwide it made as much as Howard's Rush and stateside it made more for it's studio because they spent nothing on marketing or a theatrical release - which sucks - but was profitable.

Heart Of The Sea getting an Oscar season release bodes well but it's ridiculous how WB delays so many of it's movies - and after already starting marketing for them. What a waste of money.

LOL! I wasn't counting SNOWPIERCER, b/c that was, undoubtedly the best movie of his career. I was actually referring more to his movies from 2010 on... LOSERS/WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER/SCOTT PILGRIM. This year's PLAYING IT COOL is getting some mixed/bad buzz already, and BEFORE WE GO received similar mixed/negative reception. SNOWPIERCER, though, was a standout, critically, and, well, commercially it did well despite how TWC handled it.

Personally, I hope that SEA does well, as Howard is one of my favorite directors, and, well, Hems is... :hrt:

Yeah I'm excited to see Thor finally take on human weaponry.

I think if you go from Avengers, 4 of them have had 1 one really good movie, Hemsworth - Rush, Evans - Snowpiercer, Ruffalo - Foxcatcher, Renner - American Hustle, Scarlett has had Her, Under the Skin (which some say is great others bad) and Chef, and RDJ has had the small role in Chef

None of those were box office successes but critical successes, which is probably a good thing, because they get there box office success from the MCU. Scarlett has had Lucy as well for BO success, which is why I said a page or so back, she should really be number 2 in the credits.

I'm actually really looking forward to Hemsworth in Vacation, I'm not sure it will be that good, but it's interesting to see him to a comedy film.

Even though it was shot before, Hemsworth had Cabin in the Woods after The Avengers and that was well liked by the critics as well (better than Rush on RT). I personally really liked it as well, although it's of course good in a different way than Rush is.

Hemsworth was in the top 5 highest earning actors of 2014, nobody should be above him in the credits except RDJ.

If we are basing this on paycheck, I am pretty sure Scarlett would be second. Considering Lucy and TWS.

Well I have facts, not theories please provide evidence.

Scarlett earned $17 mill over the same period

Not that should say who should be where in credits, looking for this info, I found several articles saying Scarjo was offered $20 mill for AoU, was she out of contract or something?

And jesus if there production budget is 250mill and marketing is probably close to 200 and they are paying these guys well over 100 as well that is one large film budget.

This is where I point out Lucy came out after the time period being judged, if both of those list came out at the same time.

Yeah. This film is going to be an event. There's just this massive vibe that is coming with it

The first film earned 1.5 billion and The Marvel brand has since gotten much bigger. So I would say 2 billion or something close to it isn't far fetched at all.

She wasn't out of contract so I severely doubt the $20m offer. I think she signed for 5 or six films, this is only her 4th. That's why I think her TWS appearance is either a re-negotiated add-on cameo or a sizable role since they won't burn a film on her contract for anything else.

Salaries except for RDJ who gets a % are part of the above the line costs of a film and part of the budget.

I doubt marketing will cost them that much, maybe half. With the Disney machine it will sometimes be one Disney subsidiary paying another. Hence the College Bowl spot on Disney owned ESPN. They also get a lot publicity from their actors doing lots and lots of interviews where they're paying expenses but nothing else.

With this logic, then don't be surprised when Avengers 3 comes out, it's Bradley Cooper that will be top of the roster.

I'm sure Hemsworth would've surpassed him by then since he's by far the newest actor on that list.

Will Smith still makes movies?

Downey made 75 million. 10 years ago he would never have dreamed of making that kind of money.

What has Hemsworth been making to net him that much money? All I can remember is Rush, Thor 2, and Blackhat.

I've been meaning to ask, how does everyone feel about the fact that Thor will mostly be donning his "sleeveless" look in this film as opposed to using chain mail around his arms like in previous films? I know past films have shown him going sleeveless, but he would normally don his full armor for the major fighting sequences. However, it appears as though he'll be going sleeveless for a majority of this film, with his arms only covered in full armor at Avengers tower when Ultron first attacks.

I have no issue with it. The current Thor in the comics (apart from the snag where he lost his hammer) has had bare arms so I'm currently pretty used to it. I'm sure he'll use the mail sleeves in the biggest battles though, since it seems like they otherwise would not include them at all.
