I agree, well apart from Vision having the least bit of skills, Vision should challenge Thor.
But I doubt they'll want to introduce this new character that Ultron created to be the ultimate machine and 'Vision' only for him to get defeated by Thor, and then Vision joins the Avengers when he knows he is already more useless than one of them.

I think either Vision wins, or it's a draw

edit- useless being the wrong word, but you know what i mean, he will be obviously weaker.

Vision is a worthy foe no doubt but come on Thor is no pushover. He has over a millennium of battle experience.

Yeah Thor always gave Vision the business whenever they fought in the comics. Obviously that doesn't matter in the MCU, but like everyone here already said I'm sure it's going to end in a tie.

However saying Vision has to win so he wouldn't be useless on the team is just crazy talk. Hawkeye, BW, and Cap would all get creamed by Thor so does that make them useless?

Indeed, Vision is powerful, but nowhere at the level of guys like Thor, at least in the comics.

But he was in the EMH show. And honestly given his rather diverse powerset, he should be.

Diversity doesn't equal pure power, in the comics Mjolnir is FAR more diverse than Vision or any other Avenger.

Also I don't think they were on the same level in EMH, in their first encounter Thor didn't know what to expect. But in their second battle Thor was probably on his way to killing him had Purple Man' s ray not neen destroyed.

True; even Vision's most powerful attack did nothing to Thor.

Also, in over 50 years of comics he's never been displayed as a true powerhouse, nor are his powers really that diverse.

Poor Thor, never allowed to ever beat any of the heroes, when by all accounts, he very well could.lol

What do you mean? You missed then part where I said he gives Vision the business every time they fought in the comics.

He also was about to destroy him in Avengers: EMH, Thor's pretty much beaten up every major Marvel superhero.

Compared to the likes of Hulk yes he's diverse, but not compared to most heroes. Super strength, density control, flight, energy blasts, yep that's it.

I meant on film.lol

Normally, he should have been able to defeat Iron man without a problem, but due to Iron man's status within the MCU, they had to find a way to not only give him some sort of equalizer within their battle (a 400% boost in power), but they had that fight end in a draw before Thor could really put a end to that bout decisively.

Then, with his bout against Hulk...Thor's hands were really tied from the start. He didn't want to kill the Hulk because he knew that Banner was in there, and he couldn't use his lightning attacks because he knew it would destroy the entire Hellcarrier in the process.

and I'm pretty sure that they won't have Thor destroying/neutering the Vision in the film either.

I think we will see Thor holding back a lot, per usual.

it's not even holding back anymore at this point...it's just how Thor is written in the MCU...

What happened when Thor attacked Cap, he hit the shield and the fight ended. Yes obviously Thor would win in a fight, but they aren't going to show that in the films I don't think.

Trust me no one in their right minds thinks Thor wouldn't defeat Cap in a fight. People aren't stupid you know, they do see and understand the differences in power between the two.

As a matter of fact a lot of movie goers wondered how Cap survived, since he's "just a human". Besides that scene was meant purely to show Mjolnir on shield action, Joss put that scene in for that sole reason.

Hulk gives Thor a tough time in the comics as well and like others have said Thor fights him the same way in the comics. It's like he forgets most of his powers and resorts to a brawling type fight style.

As for the Iron Man thing, of course Whedon couldn't have their big star getting his ass kicked. It's really not that big of a deal though once you understand the reason why.

Yes but what I'm saying is I don't think they will ever show an Avenger defeating an Avenger comprehensively.

Kind of lost what we are talking about, but basically I don't see Thor beating Vision

I'm pretty sure Hulk is going to defeat the Hulkbuster, so it's quite possible Thor can defeat Vision although unlikely.

Now that the first film is out of the way we might start getting definitive wins and losses.

The one way I see Thor beating Vision, is if Stark does reprogramme him using Jarvis, then obviously they would need to capture him so Thor could beat him down and bring him back to Stark.

Welcome to Thor boards my friend, it's been a long time coming.

Ha :woot:

I'm a huge Thor fan, I'm just pessimistic when it comes to how they use him in the MCU. So I'm just not going to go in the film expecting or even anticipating Thor will beat Vision.

Oh of course that wouldn't be very smart at all, heck I'm not even going to be expecting that.

If it happens great, if it doesn't that's fine I can settle for another stalemate.

I just want Thor to play a major role in Ultrons demise, then I will go home happy...

Oh yes, Thor playing a major role in defeating Ultron would make my year.

How would like for his fight with Vision to go?

Thinking about the fight with Vision gets me giddy. lol. I hope its intense and shows Thor getting creative with his powers. I hope Thor isn't tossed around though. He's a powerful being from a line of powerful warrior rulers and don't think that a synthezoid(or whatever Vision is) from earth should be much of a problem. IMO. Although he may give Thor trouble with some left field abilities, I don't want Thor to be shortchanged in their encounter. Im fine with no clear winner lol.

Yep Thor vs Vision is probably the fight I'm most excited for in this film.

I'm fine with no clear winner as well, as long as Thor is shown to be the more powerful overall. Similar to the Iron Mab fight, Vision can use his left field abilities to keep up with Thor while still being less powerful overall.
