His own people-he is a vanir, so it`s only natural to stay with your people(and family as it stated in the children's book) to help them rebuild and restore after the war. So...not even close. It`s like if no matter what happened on Vanaheim and with his family Hogun would run away to Asgard because he have a girl there who he desperate to bang. Very mature.
Your last sentence is a good description of your post, seeing how you so desperately try to angle the descriptions to suit your point. Not very flattering to your argument.
Thor's arc is that he starts out doing what is required of him instead of doing what he wants, then realizes that he doesn't think he has what it takes to be a ruler and therefor gives up his claim to do what his heart wants, only keeping the role as defender of Asgard.
