Yeah, X3's ending got me thinking about it. I never read the comics so I'm not familiar with these things. I was just curious as to how exactly Xavier manage to finance this school ?

depends on which marvel universe you read but generally

xavier and his family are super duper rich... he lives off the interest.

also warren worthington (angel) is also super rich and funds the school.

the mansion has be destroyed a million times in the comics so to keep it going they must be billionaires.

Charles Xavier is the major doner, because he's made a huge mint in the stock market through insider trading.

At least that's what Marvel has hinted at.

I'm not too particular about their ages, since they don't usually show their mutant powers until after they hit puberty.

I mean, assuming that X funded the place, as Marvel more or less has said, and that he made most of his money on the stockmarket, as Marvel has also more or less said, he couldn't have made that much money in a lifetime without having used his abilities to acquire knowledge illegally.

If Marvel admitted this, many fans would rise up and scream that Marvel is ruining the character.

That is like saying who runs a company after the original owner dies.

Xavier is the founder of the school but the school I am sure is funded sufficiently. It also has human staff who's minds are "wiped clean" if they discover any secrets.

Like I said Xavier has billions and so does Angel.
