What happens when you have to create a new character but have zero imagination?

JUst steal half of two other characters and slap them together with a new name.

What happens when people make senseless threads and don't know the character Demolition Man? They miss stuff like "His costume is intentionally designed so the body of it is a duplicate of Daredevil's first costume, and the hood is a knock-off of Wolverine's."

:D:up:

But D-man is the bestest... Actually I never did know what the D stood for :p

I know the character quit well as I have the Captian America comic he first appeared in as well as the Avengers comics he appeared in. Now then why was his costume a deliberate copy of DD and Wolverine. Correct answer, Lack of Imagination!

WoW! That's one hell of an ASSumption.

Actually, because D-Man has a mental handicap, and FASHIONED his costume after theirs. It works quite well when you consider D-Man's lack of creative ability in the first place. What would be dumb, and unimaginative, is that if they gave the character a whole new costume, and totally ignored his state of mind.

To me a real example of unimaginative is this:

DC's Klaw II in the 90's:

Some bad guy in Marvel's Araña in the new millenium:

For a moment, I thought you were going to say Arana was unimaginative, to which I would disagree for the most part. However, I KNEW I saw that bad guy somewhere else before, and now I know why.

Gravity, while interesting enough, is a rip-off of a variety of character-types, including:

Then, let's not forget Marvel getting sued for this blatant rip-off:

a rip-off of:

Marvel got sued for Nigh****ch?
No one ever noticed that Spawn is just an amalgamation of several different characters? He has the Spidey eyes and a living costume. I could be wrong but it seems awfully suspicious coming from the first guy to draw Venom.

It seems we're not allowed to say the name Nigh****ch because we could get sued. What sort of censors do we have here? Nigh****ch Night-Watch

Yeah, Gravity is more of a Spidey-rip-off than he is an Invincible one. It doesn't really matter much though, since Gravity ROCKS.

Gravity is pretty cool from what I've seen of him so far. And you gotta love the goggles.

The goggles with the skullcap really make it look geekily cool.

This sounds like a good point until you really think about it. If he's capable of fabricating a costume like that he certainly could have come up with something original.

Not really. He might have only had the mental capacity for menial labour, over creative thinking.

It already happened to me in a different thread.:D It's not because of the name per se; look at the word that is getting edited out and you'll clearly see WHY. T+WATCH= slang/derogatory term for vagina, also takes other derogatory meanings.

Wow, All I wanted to say was Nigh****ch to see if you guys were fooling me about it getting blinked out. That's some s***. Nigh****ch. Nigh****ch. Some real s***. how about NIGH****CH? no? then N!GH****CH! maybe I should quit before I get in trouble.
