"Universal and Marvel's reboot "The Incredible Hulk" has been a hit with fanboys, cuming $115.8 million to date. Although "The Incredible Hulk" isn't likely to cume much more than Ang Lee's 2003 "Hulk," which grossed roughly $132 million domestically, U says that's good enough to signal a new film franchise."

That's public posturing to try and get additional business in theaters and generate interest when the film hits DVD. Unless the film really turns big on DVD, I don't see any reason why Marvel would pursue another one with the unlimited vault of heroes to pick from. I think it's all but guaranteed the Hulk will be relegated to a supporting role in the Avengers. Too bad. I liked the new film. If given the opportunity I think the series could be very good.

as much as i truly loved the movie, and would be delighted to see another sequel, i don't think it's wise for Universal to do another Hulk sequel any time soon atleast.

Nice! Make it after the Avengers, give it the first weekend of May or the last weekend of July, KEEP it the hell AWAY from June(Superhero boxoffice poison month) and market it like crazy!!

Oh and let Norton do whatever he wants!

Agreed.

it would be kinda cool if they could tie in the Hulk into the Wolverine movie.

Universal wants a sequel, cool as long as they actually market the sequel properly next time and get it in more theaters, both of which played heavily against TIH. Now we know Universal wants a sequel all we have to do is wait for marvel to make up their minds, I personally definately think we'll get a sequel, it's just when........

Of course they'll be open for a sequel. They ain't footin the bill! :woot:

Seriously though, this is up to Marvel. But I really hope Marvel decides to do another and all the cast returns.

If another one is produced I hope Marvel reconsiders letting Universal be a part of the project... if the sad marketing of TiH was indeed in the hands of Universal.

SWEEEEEET, FREAKING AWESOME, BEASTY I COULD KISS YOU, YOU JUST MADE MY DAY DUDE!!!:D:D:D:up:

The marketing was both Universal and Marvels faults, Marvel's for not wanting to step on their precious IM's shoes and Universals for not making it big enough, for not letting people know TIH wasn't a sequel to Hulk.

Did I just read that correctly?

Although "The Incredible Hulk" isn't likely to cume much more than Ang Lee's 2003 "Hulk," which grossed roughly $132 million domestically, U says that's good enough to signal a new film franchise."

WB did this with Superman Returns to try and boost the box office near the end of it run. Interesting.

:csad: Don't crush my dreams Showtime...

Ah well...

That's a coincidence, I also want another Hulk movie. Call me, Universal, we'll do lunch.

Marvel made this movie with future Hulk movies in mind, I believe is almost certain we'll get a sequel.

GRRRREAT for me :)

D

to be honest, its not really down to Universal, Marvel is the one we need to hear from.

I'd love to be shown I'm wrong, but I don't think we will see Hulk again until Avengers. Maybe after, we will get a TIH2.

But it certainly is (unless what Showtime said is correct) a good indicator that it could get a sequel if a major movie studio believed it had made enough money.

But as you said, it's up to Marvel and whether or not it's worth it to them.

We definitely won't. Seeing as they have their slate tied up for their two films a year. Except for 09, and I don't think they should try to squeeze it in, in under a year (nor do I think they are going too with Frenchie directing Clash of the Titans.)

Yes!

A sequel to a film I love. This is fantastic.
