Have you ever had a person do something or say something to you that was so offensive or so out there that you didn't really know how to respond to it?

When I was in school, the brother of a classmate died in a tragic accident at his home. The day before the funeral, the class bully, who was always saying he thought I was *banned word*, said "Are you gonna kiss *said classmate* at the funeral?" I wanted to tear into him, but didn't think he was worth getting expelled for.

I remember one time in high school this black kid in one of my classes told me that I didn't come from a "real black family" because I didn't have any family members in jail.

Happened recently, and it wasn't something said against me that offended me. It's when the loved ones are offended.

Was informing my grandma all about my girlfriend's nursing course next year, whilst she's at uni. Mainly because, I'm dead proud of how intelligent she is and where she's going. After around twenty minutes or so, she turns to my sister and demands she wants her to be 'more than a just a nurse. you're better than that'.

The fact she said whilst I was in the room, and it was offensive to my girlfriend...I was so p***ed, I didn't know what to say

Just like when you're arguing with someone and all they can come up with is something completely absurd that makes no sense. My husband does it all the time and I can just laugh at him.

While I was in class at Villanova, we were talking about Booker T. Washington. Our professor asked the question, What would Booker T. Washington think if he came to Villanova. About 5 seconds later this one kid raised his hand and that he thinks that Booker T. Washington would be upset if he came to Villanova because the only black people that go to Villanova are on the basketball team. The whole class was like including the teacher.

This actually happened yesterday. My girlfriend's brother is a spoiled brat. He doesn't have a job and all he does is squander his parents out of money to fix up his car, which he has already wrecked three times in the last 6 months.

Well, his car is in the shop getting fixed and my girlfriend said, "I don't see why you are getting it fixed. You are just going to wreck it again." He went crazy. He jumped up in her face, threatening to punch her and bust out her car windows.

I wanted to punch him in his face but I just sat there and said nothing, probably because their mom was right there as well.

But if he would have touched her, I would have handed his butt to him.

Better not to get involved in family disputes that are really none of your business. Prevent him from harming his sister sure, but don't do anything to him unless it's absolutely necessary.
