Has anyone seen this yet? If so, what are your thoughts? Also did any of you see the original Robert Stack version?

My thoughts are that the Netflix format of 35-50 minutes per case does eliminate a lot of categories from the original. Categories such as lost loves, heirs, psychics and treasure are eliminated right off the bat. Most of the cases in the reboot are of unsolved murders, but there's one UFO case.

It's better than Making a Murder, which I thought was dragging and long at times.

I was an avid watcher of the OG as a child...I watched the first episode of the revival and...as a true crim docuseries it's fine but it isnt Unsolved Mysteries without the creepy voiceover and host. Their reasoning for eliminating that aspect from the show is nice but....they need a host/voiceover.

Yeah, the original scared the crap out of me as a child. Even just that opening. I even occasionally have Robert Stack’s voice narrate in my own head when I’m walking home in the dark at night.

I'm an OG fan of Unsolved Mysteries going back to the 80s and 90s.

I enjoyed the new episodes , but yes, its really not the same as the old series.

The format is different .They should really call these Unsolved Mysteries Presents or Unsolved Mysteries Documentaries.

Maybe next season they can get back to a few segments in some episodes but leave the more complicated mysteries ,with more material ,to being an full hour to themselves.

They also don't have a host, which I can understand since Robert Stack is a tough act to follow.

The only person I could see coming close to being the host would be Dateline's Keith Morrison ,since I could sim him being able to pull off telling true crime and supernatural stories convincingly .

All that being said, the new episodes are worth checking because the stories are interesting.

Grew up on the original and loved it so much and have been hesitant to check out the new series because I knew it would feel different.

I'll be fair though and check out an episode or two soon
