Some of my best friends and I just grew apart over the years, but here are a couple of stories that come to mind:

One of my best friends in high school started dating a guy who was abusive. I vocalized my concern for her, but she didn't listen. She became a major pothead and wouldn't go anywhere or do anything without him. I gradually had to stop trying to keep in contact with her, because she wasn't trying back, and wouldn't allow anyone to help her.

Another one from high school and I grew apart, and I'm not entirely sure why. Here is my guess: although she had a boyfriend at the time, there was a guy in a band that she was attracted to. I met the guy one day when we were out with a group of friends, and he became interested in me. He asked me out. We dated casually for a couple of months. I think that my friend was jealous, even though I told her about the situation, and even asked if she would be comfortable with it.

My freshman year of high school, I thought I'd found a new best friend, but it turned out she was just using me as someone who always knew where all the parties were. When I stopped partying as much, she stopped talking to me. When I questioned her about why she wasn't returning my messages, she told me that I was "trying to act black" and that she didn't like it, and didn't want to be friends anymore

All of my new close friends were carefully chosen, and I haven't had a problem with anyone

I still have friends on myspace that I know from my old job....pretty much, my friends drift a part for reasons. I'm not too concerned with keeping friends. We all drift apart.

regardless of your forgiveness for the money or way they treated you, i'd still be wary that they just wanted something from you again.

There's really nothing that they could get from me.

They still live in California. I have since moved to Tennessee (actually, my moving to Tennessee was almost directly caused by them).

There's really not much that they can get from me. I definitely can't give her a ride to work anymore. And I sure as **** ain't sending them a check for anything.

To answer another question - no, I haven't mentioned the rent, and she hasn't brought it up. It was really only going to amount to a couple hundred dollars. I just don't know that it's worth it, I guess.

alright, I know I'll get blasted for this.... my friend Eric, good firend, not best... was in a accident during our senior year.... he lost one of his legs, one arm, and part of his other hand....

his girlfriend was hot, and was always were flirty, but never did anything because she was dating Eric... well, she had some people over, but he couldn't come due to his injuries... well, a few cocktails later, I talked her into breaking up with him over the phone, so she cold have guilt free sex with me right after...

she did, we did... he found out later, haven't talked since....

I see, you didn't try any moves on his gf when your friend was healthy and could potentially retaliate, so you decided the perfect time would be when your good friend was gravely injured and probably wishing he were dead to steal what little he had left in this world. Nice move there.

I don't know if I can call this a best friend since we were kind of doing gay stuff together but here it is. I moved to wisconsin and met said guy on the playground playing pokemon this evolved into sleepovers and sex and all kinds of good times.

This went on for another year and then it stopped and was never mentioned one day. We were still best friends until high school but we just didn't do gay stuff anymore but we still did co-op watch movies and everything. It was the first summer out of high school and my friend gets kicked out of his house. I didn't agree with what he said and asked him to talk to his parents. I asked him to leave my house via myspace he was always on it at my house and we went our seperate ways.

A few months later he starts threatening to fight me if he ever sees me again so i went and confronted him about it. We talked for a few hours and realized we couldn't be friends anymore after what we said to each other. I've seen him a few times after that, but that was for another friend. I've gotten over it , but he's still my friend sometimes in my dreams which is a little disturbing because he's a little kid with his stupid rat tail that I thought was hysterical.

This is what happened to most of my friends from school. Just throw in a baby.


The zaniest story I have for losing a friend is we got into an argument about a hockey game! We had been friends for several years because we had a lot of mutual interests (though she hung out with a group I really didn't socialize with.) Our friendship started to fade after we graduated, (she had gotten involved in some very bad things) and finally ended the night we got into a screaming match via telephone about a hockey game.....it was the Devils vs. Pens, lol! I still remember it to this day!! We never really spoke again.....

I had one friend in junior high which I hung out with all the time for 2 years straight but when we graduated and ended up in the same high school together he didn't want to know me anymore. He was always standoffish with other ppl and didn't have any close friends as far as I could tell and hadn't even dated at that point to even distract him away from me. I don't actually know what caused this. It's not even like we had any arguments leading up to this point or anything. He just slowly stopped wanting to talk to me on our walks to high school. It's strange now how I look back on my times with him and don't even recall too many if any real fun times with him. I never really confronted him about the whole thing. Perhaps 2 years isn't enough of an investment to try.

I lost another friendship after 10 years when my buddy got offended or slighted over something I said in an online chat with him, which later evolved to a phone conversation afterwards. That is how ridiculous and convoluted it got and why I won't even bother to repeat it because it was so meaningless. He basically told me that I ended the friendship. Over what I'll never really know. You would have thought he found out I slept with his gf while he lay broken in a hospital after a car crash that killed his entire family. Men really should not behave like this. I've had male friends act a bit irrationally before. In the past I've had 3 friends hang up on me over something I said and eventually got 3 apologies afterward.
