Friends vs Family, Dilemas

Can't you just do the family thing, then keep it from your friend & go with him? It's only a white lie, and you're probably gonna wanna see TDK more than once anyway, it's not like the 2nd viewing will bore the s**t out of you.

That way, everyone's a winner, and if after the movie you explain that you already saw it & tell him what you just told us, if he's a friend, he'll be cool about it.

I went to the midnight show, and was bummed that my brother didn't go. But I forgot about him and enjoyed the movie immensely.

umm sorry, but i don't lie.. and he actually respected me for it. told me it was fine and he understands. Said he'd still wait for me to see it on sunday.

actually i had a decent time, very crappy theater though and i was pretty much the oldest person there. which is odd cuz im 22. but everyone there was in highschool. so im looking forward to seeing it on sunday with the upgrade

I pity the peeps that are not close with their family. Usually it's their own fault. Not trying to play the blame game, but unless your dad molested you or your mom killed your dad, usually kids that aren't close to their parents are so because of some **** they did themselves.

When I lived with my family, I was close with them. When I graduated college and got a decent job, I moved out. Since then, I've avoided several petty family arguments and wonder why I didn't move out earlier than I did. My life is quiet, peaceful and content. Why do I want that mess back in my life?

You should definately not live there again . I was with my family through years of bickering . After I moved out they found god and have mellowed out and are better people for it . I could never move back though.. Before it was because of the arguments and control issues now it's because I would have to deal with alot of preaching . I enjoy visits and going out to eat or whatever but could never do the full time deal .

well the family that was askin me to go, im not close with cuz they've lived in minnesota all my life. Where as im much closer with my ohio family.

my dad and i arn't very close, but thats because he's kinda an a-hole and i find him extremely hard to like or respect because of it.
