Comics USM Death of Spider-Man

Wha-Wha- Whaaaaaaaaat??!? :wow:

If Peter David was dead, he'd be spinning in his grave.

Jesus am I glad I only read Marvel sporadically these days. Did they learn nothing from Teen Tony?

It was even worse than you imagine. They changed his origin, his age, the origin of his conflict with Tyler Stone, etc. Also, the Punisher was just a cop off of his rocker. Timestorm was the name of the mini-series. It was just...bad.

Since it's bendis the probability is 70% being some chick, 25% being ben reilly and 5% for luke cage. I don't see any other real chances.

I want a new exiles with miguel on the team. I'd love an exiles that was less X-Men orientated and more with just what if type stories featuring the whole of the MU. I also miss spider on the Exiles. That was a fun version of an evil Spider-Man.

I know I am in the minority, but I could give a rat's wet heiny-hole for Luke Cage. Bendis can tell me Luke Cage is cool until he's blues in the face, but, if you have to explain why something is cool, then it clearly isn't.

Also, given the way Marvel has done with events for the past decade, take the most predictable outcome, and that will likely be what happens. :csad:

I am so sick of luke cage he was cool the way he was not as like a leader of the avengers and such. He would have made a very good voice of reason but instead bendis just has him as the avengers leading fly of the handle ass.

You know what would be novel for a marvel event to have? The good guys actually defeating the bad guys, not just being saved at the last minute through some plot device. Think about it. Secret War, WWH, Secret Invasion, Seige... Even direct character events like Shadowland don't have heroes actually winning through determination and skill. Best you can hope for is the bad guy commits suicide.

As for a black hero I'd love to see more of, give me some prowler. That guy was cool. He's like a low budget black panther without the arrogance. I always liked him and spider-man as a team up.

I agree, its been too long since Prowler has been around. Even if he is still unable to walk, he would be an interesting character. Kind of like Oracle was in the Bat books.

I just remember when Luke Cage just had unbreakable skin and was kind of strong. Now, he's stronger than Spider-Man. WTH?

Anyways, Prowler was pretty cool. Miss that guy, too.

As for him being like Oracle....even Oracle won't be like Oracle after September. :(

did anybody read the FALLOUT issue that came out yesterday? gawd there is one particular moment that actually made me cry -.-

Can someone give me a brief description of the mainstream universe? I don't read comics.
Spider-Man is not married to MJ, he has a girlfriend named Carlie Cooper
Peter is banned from being a shutterbug, but he found a great job in a think tank in Horizon labs (thanks to the late Marla Jameson)
May married Jonah Jameson's father
Spider-Man is a member of these teams:
  • Avengers
  • New Avengers
  • Future Foundation (Fantastic Four & Johnny is dead)

I am going to be somewhat honest...I thought Ultimate was actually trying to rebuild itself with Spider-Man after the trash we call Ultimatum...I loved Ultimate...I really loved Ultimate Spider-Man...now I have no reason to read it and no motivation! I can't even get through fallout.

Yeah, Fallout was kind of bad. I wouldn't say bad it was just boring. It's like, "Why couldn't these story elements have been done in the respective Ultimate books?"
