Seriously, go buy this game now.

I just completed it (coming in at 26 hours), and and its climbed up to be my second favourite game of 2008.

Honestly the story, characters, and gameplay all are on par with MGS4 (if a little simpler). Its poor performance is criminal, and is well worthy of GOTY nominations. Its an adventure on scale with friggin' Orcarina of Time.

You have GOT to give it a try.

Tell us what you really think about it.:oldrazz:

It's on my list. Can't wait to play it.

Im waiting for it to go down in price. The game never even seems to go on sale

Same here. It's been on my list for a while now.

No! Buy now! Its the most deserving game to be full priced evas!

Everyone needs to play this game immediately.

It is worth the full price. Do you hear me? Buy this game.

Yeah, good choice TLS. You're not going to regret it. Glad to see someone else on this board liked it as much as me, MagicPrime.

I saw you playing it. Glad you like it dude! How far are you in right now?

Not that far yet. Chapter 3 I believe. I just got to the Headquarters. I have long way to go, me thinks. I keep getting interrupted when ever I play.:csad:

It is a lot of fun. The story so far is fantastic, especially the characters. I like the idea of picking and choosing your squad (of 20!) from recruits. It adds another level of customization.

Well I'm at Chapter 7 and it is getting really good. If I get a pig, his name will be Hans. :)
I want to stress how much fun it is getting to choose from recruits. One of my snipers couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Not Squad 7 material. Replaced him with an amazing recruit. So much depth to the battles, in what troops to use or where to deploy them. I'm loving this game.

^ nice!!

hope the remaster and new game get released in the West.

can't wait for them to announce the domo for the west. it'll likely be the same as this.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution Details On Perma-Deaths, Difficulty, And Upcoming Demo. November 24, 2015 . 5:45am

Key developers of Valkyria: Azure Revolution shared the latest on the upcoming game with details on losing characters, difficulty, and the upcoming demo included with Valkyria Chronicles Remaster.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution director Takeshi Ozawa and the game’s chief producer Yoichi Shimosato spoke of the latest on the upcoming title in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation. [Thanks, Hachima.]

On the subject of losing a character:

Ozawa: “This is something that we’ve discussed a lot, but since death is a theme this time around, if we don’t have such deaths then the feeling of fear that comes with it won’t reach the player, so we’ve decided to go with it.”

Shimosato: “We’ve readied events and other story elements for sub-characters in order to further motivate players to not get people killed.”

Are there events that don’t occur if you lose a character?

Ozawa: “The main story will carry on, but the said character’s events will be cut out. However, like other Valkyria Chronicles titles, you’ll be able to redo things, and we’re planning on having players get to experience everything just by doing so.”

About how difficult is the game?

Ozawa: “I believe that there are definitely some obstacles there, and with that said, [the difficulty] is not that low. We plan on adding an easy mode and such for the matter.”

On the demo:

Shimosato: “Up until now we’ve released demos just before the release, and all the feedback we got from them ended up being of no use due to the schedule. For this reason, we aim to show off the system as soon as possible, and keep having it evolve. It’s a title that we’d like to make together with the players.”

Ozawa: “However, one thing we don’t want to you to misunderstand is that it won’t be a beta, as we plan on confidently getting your assent right off the bat.”

What about the volume of the demo?

Ozawa: “Since you’ll get a taste of the LeGION [battle system] we’re calling it the ‘Batt;e Demo.’ It’ll also have leveling elements in it, so you get to experience something like a game cycle for it.

Sega has released a story introduction trailer for Valkyria Chronicles Remaster, its upcoming PlayStation 4 port of the PlayStation 3 strategy RPG.
The remaster is due out on February 10 in Japan and includes a battle demo for Valkyria: Azure Revolution. Read more about its contents here.
Here’s an overview of the story, via the game’s Steam version page:
Set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of the 1930s, Valkyria Chronicles depicts Europe divided in two and ruled by two super powers: the Empire and the Federation. The Empire has set its sights on invading a small neutral country called Gallia, situated in the middle of the two superpowers territories, in an attempt to secure invaluable natural resources. Within this struggle a hero named Welkin, and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon, are fighting back against the invasion and the Empires attempts to unify the continent under its power.
During the ensuing war the Federation discovers that the Empire possesses a secret weapon, known as the “Valkyria” – an ancient race with special powers thought to exist only in legends. With this new discovery the fate of the Federation’s ability to turn the tide of the war, and the hope for a better future, hang in the balance.
