Venom - thejon93

PART IX:

INT. BLACK VOID

EDDIE wakes up, opening his eyes up wide. Lying on his back, he stands up to his feet. Looking down, he notices the ground is like the SYMBIOTE which consumed him. He looks everywhere, there's nothing but darkness and yet somehow he can see himself.

Suddenly, two gigantic triangular-shaped white splotches appeared against the darkness. Then Eddie realized it, he was inside his own mind courtesy of the symbiote.

SYMBIOTE
We do not look to harm you, Eddie.

Eddie jumped back in fright as soon as the voice came echoing around him.

EDDIE
What do you want with me? What did you do with my friend?!

Through the white splotches, Eddie turns around to see what VENOM did to CARL for what feels to Eddie like a few moments ago. He begins to cry in-sight of seeing his best friend beaten.

SYMBIOTE
Is that too much for you to handle, Eddie? Were you too afraid to do it
yourself?

EDDIE
(crying)
You didn't have to hurt him! He's my friend!

SYMBIOTE
He was the reason you almost died, Eddie. He was the reason we saved your
life. You would have died without us
(beat)
especially with the cancer that lingers within you.

Eddie's jaw drops, he drops to his knees in total shock. No more tears in his eyes, he wipes them away.

SYMBIOTE
Your villainous father, he's the reason you are burdened with it.

Eddie looks up through the eyes of Venom again, where the two-now-clear splotches made for eyes to visualize by the symbiote were, and sees that the monster's strung up SALLY'S BOYFRIEND onto the edge of the college's rooftop. His feet dangle down, and Venom grabs him by the face.

VENOM
If you know what's best for ya, you'll consider moving out of town if you don't
want us to come and find you. We are one now, you see? And there is no
stopping us.

Eddie looks away from Venom's actions against the damaged boyfriend and holds his face in his palm, ashamed of himself.

SYMBIOTE
There's no need to blame yourself, Eddie. This is us now. We are one.

Taking his hand away from his face, Eddie stands up and looks back out through Venom's eyes to see that he's looking to cause havoc on the streets. The monster drools on the rooftop in which he lingered upon.

EDDIE
What can you do to save my life?

SYMBIOTE
Everything. We can hold your strengths, erase your weaknesses. Make it so
you never have to surrender again. Together, there is no end to what we
could accomplish.

EDDIE
Then can you promise me that you will never harm another one of my friends
again?

SYMBIOTE
(beat)
No.

Eddie is stunned to hear this.

EDDIE
Let me out then!

SYMBIOTE
In order to understand what it means to save you, Eddie, you must be
prepared for us to do anything. It will put your friends in danger, and it will
put a lot of people underground.

EDDIE
Why?!

SYMBIOTE
This world is too big, Eddie. In order to save the world, the world itself needs
to be witness to a little bit more tragedy. There are villains more evil than you
and I.

EDDIE
What you've done tonight is maddening!

SYMBIOTE
You've seen the face of tragedy before. We know you can face it again.
Together, we will teach these ruthless citizens what it means to be defeated
like you have been. Defeat is the only way to save these people, it's already
saved your life.

EDDIE
I can't be a part in this. I won't.

SYMBIOTE
Then don't be.

Eddie is grabbed by a black tentacle that slithered up from the ground, now Eddie could clearly see that it was all symbiote he was standing on.

SYMBIOTE
Let us consume your soul.

The symbiote engulfed him, reaching up to his head with it's tentacles and pulled him into the ground as if it were quicksand. Eddie screams for one last time, then he's sucked right underneath the symbiote.

CUT TO:

EXT. CITY STREET, ROOFTOP - NIGHT

VENOM lingers at the top of the roof, looking down at SEVERAL PEOPLE walking down on the street around the pub where SALLY worked. The monster drools, having his saliva hit the roof slowly, then finally leaps right off the roof and down towards the people on the streets.

He lands with a crushing sound, breaking the sidewalk which he landed on. Tilting his head up slowly, he looks across the street to notice a few people looking at him. They stand there petrified. Venom suddenly races towards them like a wild animal on all fours, the four people he chases run away but Venom is far too fast. He catches up with their speed in no time.

The first man he sends flying into a parked vehicle with a clubbing fist. Still running after the next three, Venom wraps his hand around the head of another man and tosses him far up into the air. The man is sent flying upwards about 50 or more feet before landing back to the ground on his back.

Charging towards the final two people, Venom grabs them both by the necks with the back of their heads facing him and he just slams them face-first into the concrete. Several screams are heard from other people running away from the scene, Venom hears them all and looks towards them. But his attention changes when he notices the pub where Sally works. He smiles devilishly and makes his way to the pub.

INT. PUB

VENOM crashes through the front doors by jumping right through them. There are a couple people left inside the pub, they all suddenly stand right up from their seats and start racing towards the back exit.

VENOM
(laughing maniacally)
You think you can outrun us?!

Venom runs towards all of the people trying to exit through the back. One by one, he grabs them and throws them back into the main area where some people landed on tables, glasses, bar stools, and many other objects. Once finished, Venom looks back at the people he's thrown and looks beyond them to notice SALLY is trying to escape.

VENOM
Oh, Sally!

Sally turns around in absolute fear at the sound of her name. Venom drools out the corner of his mouth and waves at Sally like he's a dear friend. Sally runs out of the pub in an instant, Venom follows as the people he terrorized before all sat on the floor and tried not to bother him.

EXT. PUB

Outside the pub, SALLY starts running away up the road. VENOM comes out of the pub and sends a tentacle towards Sally to catch her. He does, which makes her fall to the road as Venom drags her in close to him. He kneels down on the road beside her.

VENOM
You shouldn't have sent your boyfriend, Sally. He almost got himself killed.
You silly people get so offended with having even the slightest thing said
wrong to you, it's funny to us. We like it a lot.

Venom smiles big, showing his razor-sharp white teeth to Sally who turns away at the stench of the monster's fowl breath.

VENOM
(chuckles)
You don't like the way we look or smell? You must be crazy, Sally!

SALLY
How do you know my name? What do you want with me?!

VENOM
We don't know what we want with you. Maybe that window wants you.

Sally looks confused at Venom, who winks to her with his white eye and then grabs her by the arm. Standing up, while holding on tight to Sally's arm, Venom swings Sally right back into the pub through the front window. The PEOPLE still inside the pub help Sally out, even though they are still terrified to go near Venom and some of them prepare for when he may attack again.

VENOM
You people could care about each other like this more often, rather than fear
one another like the cowards you are, but no, instead you choose to linger in
your own fear of each other
(beat)
and you kill yourselves because of it. And we'll happily be the killers.

One of the people inside the pub grabs a pool stick, another breaks a beer bottle and holds it as a weapon. Venom chuckles again, shaking his head in-sight of the people willing to defend themselves. Police sirens start to grow closer. A sigh of relief is heard from one of the people inside the pub. Venom looks at the person.

VENOM
You think cops can save you from us?

The person is speechless, as Venom stares dead into his eyes. His teeth clench together, looking really sinister at the man who is frozen with complete fear. A moment passes, as Venom creepily stares at the poor man, the man starts to cry.

VENOM
Thought so.

Venom jumps up and out of sight from the people inside the pub. Climbing up the roof, he makes his way out of the area as two police cars turn the corner and drive closer towards the pub.

Very good love the interaction

Thanks, red hood. I wanted to introduce Venom and the symbiote itself a little earlier this time around because, when I wrote it before, it felt as if both characters came in a little too late, so coming back and writing this has been really a fantastic experience and has really made me appreciate the character more than ever before. To start fresh and give Venom a brand-new origin story is something that intrigues me because he's such an interesting character and the bond between the host and it's prey is something I wanted to show more of with this redo. I think that, by the time I've finished and written the end of it, it will be a great story and one that I hope everyone can enjoy reading because there is a very complex side to this character that deserves to be explored on the big-screen (more so than even Spider-Man IMO).

PART X:

INT. EDDIE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

VENOM climbs into the apartment through the window, closing it behind him. Looking around the room, it's all dark. So Venom shoots a tentacle out towards the light switch to turn on the lights in the room.

Crawling onto the bed, Venom takes a sigh of relief and the SYMBIOTE itself starts to ease away from EDDIE, seeping into the mattress underneath him.

Eddie is so exhausted that he can barely move. He barely has enough strength to look up, but he does, as he examines all around his mattress, looking for the symbiote. Suddenly attempting to make a run for it, he races towards the door but the symbiote grabs him and swings him back towards the mattress. His back lands against it and the symbiote starts to strangle him through the mattress.

EDDIE
(choking)
Let me go.

SYMBIOTE
Never.

The symbiote strangles Eddie's neck even tighter. Eddie's face starts to turn red.

EDDIE
Stop this!

The symbiote lets Eddie go finally, and he collapses back down to the floor. Slowly the symbiote starts to come crawling over him. Eddie tries to get up, but the symbiote keeps him restrained to the floor.

SYMBIOTE
Why do you continue to resist, Eddie?

EDDIE
You almost killed my friend!

SYMBIOTE
He will be fine, and he will never reveal our secret to anyone.

EDDIE
And how could you know this?

SYMBIOTE
We have seen into his mind, just as we have with your's. We know that he
believes in you, as you should believe in him and his recovery as well.

Eddie tries to get away from the symbiote. Attempting to push himself up from the floor, he can barely move up even an inch. He is trapped.

EDDIE
You're a monster! You didn't need to hurt those people! And now that Sally
has an idea of who I am because of you, she and her boyfriend will send to
police down to fetch me in no time! Did you not think that over?! You've
ruined everything!

Angered, the symbiote screams at Eddie, suddenly slamming his head into the floor, causing his forehead to start gushing blood. Eddie tries to grab his wound, which the symbiote lets him do.

SYMBIOTE
(screaming)
We have ruined nothing of yours! We are saving your life!

EDDIE
(screaming too)
You are not! You are caging me up like an animal so that you can do whatever
monstrous things you wish to! You're evil!

SYMBIOTE
You are the monster, Eddie. We simply inspire you to become one. That built-
up anger inside of you, it didn't come from nothing. It came from your hate
and rage towards your own people! The people who you would so happily
defend without us, then regret that you gave them everything and your life to
protect their feeble minds over your own. You can be stronger than these
people you despise, Eddie, but you must let us consume you.

EDDIE
Once I am freed from this, I will kill you.

SYMBIOTE
Then this will have to be something you learn to adapt to, if you wish to
survive.

The symbiote launches Eddie up from the floor and, while in mid-air, the symbiote quickly transforms Eddie into VENOM again and lands on the floor with a loud thud that gets the downstairs neighbour to start pounding on his ceiling repeatedly.

Venom hears this and is immediately annoyed, rushing to the window, opening it wide, he launches a tentacle down at the wall along the apartment building between Eddie's window and the neighbour's. But, before he forgets, Venom shoots another tentacle at the light switch, turning it off.

INT. NEIGHBOUR'S APARTMENT

Finishing up his pounding on the wall, the DOWNSTAIRS NEIGHBOUR puts the broomstick he was using down and then suddenly VENOM comes crashing through the window. The monster delivers a two-footed kick to the poor man, which sends him flying into the wall, as the man then lands to the floor afterwards with a thud, there was a huge dent left in the wall behind him.

Venom walks up to the downed man and crouches next to him, picking up both the man's hands. The man tried to squirm away, but Venom won't let him go. He stares at him with his evil white eyes.

VENOM
We could hear you banging all the way from across the street. So, if we hear
you doing it again, we will return. And we will break your fingers one-by-one,
and then we'll break your wrists off too. Sound fair?

The man is terrified, he doesn't know what to say.

VENOM
Say that you understand.

DOWNSTAIRS NEIGHBOUR
(repeatedly)
I understand.

The man kept repeating himself, as Venom slowly started to let him go and the monster himself stood back up. Towering over the fright-filled man on the floor, the man looks up at Venom and starts to crawl away from him suddenly, hoping to make it to the door to try and escape. Laughing, Venom mocks the man's attempts to crawl away.

VENOM
(mocking)
Oh, look at me! I've fallen and I can't get up!

Venom shoots a tentacle at the back of the man's head and swings him repeatedly up and down towards the ceiling, hitting hard off both the floor and ceiling alike, making the same sound pattern the man was making with the broom earlier before harshly throwing him back down to the floor. The man coughed up some blood on the landing, and his head was now bleeding from getting bashed up against the ceiling repeatedly.

Now, even more neighbours started banging against their walls.

Venom sinisterly looked around where he heard the banging was coming from, clearly readying to attack some more unlucky neighbours, he smiles big, a bit of drool comes falling out from between his razor-sharp teeth, and he wipes his teeth off with his grotesque tongue.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOSPITAL

That same night, VENOM is crawling along the wall of the hospital. Looking through the windows at people lying in their beds, he tries to track down Carl. He growls impatiently over not finding him right away, but, soon after, he happens upon CARL, who was lying on his bed with a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN by his side. Venom drooled a bit from his mouth in sight of her beauty.

VENOM
She looks tasty.

INT. BLACK VOID

EDDIE sees the WOMAN.

EDDIE
(worried)
Alicia.

INT. HOSPITAL

The beautiful woman, ALICIA, sits down next to CARL on the bed. She examines his bandaged wounds.

ALICIA
Who did this to you, Carl?

Carl takes a moment to grab hold of Alicia's hand before answering, seemingly trying to piece it together in his head too.

CARL
Remember that server from the pub? Sally?

ALICIA
Yeah. She did this?

CARL
Probably, but she put her boyfriend up to it which did me no favours. As you
can clearly tell.

Alicia chuckles for a moment, before hugging Carl tightly.

EXT. HOSPITAL

Outside, VENOM looks angrily at the two inside hugging each other. Drawing his mouth back, he snarled. However, this caught CARL and ALICIA's attention. Venom quickly leaps away from the window, hoping the two haven't discovered him there.

INT. HOSPITAL

ALICIA leans in as close to the window as possible, trying to see what was outside. She could see nothing.

ALICIA
What the hell was that?

CARL starts to breathe heavily, trying to get up, he takes off the straps that tied him down to the hospital bed in a hurry. Getting up from the bed, he takes Alicia's wrist.

CARL
We have to go.

ALICIA
Carl, you're alright. It was probably just a bird or something. What? Are you
afraid that it's a monster or something? You look like you just heard one.

CARL
Look, something else happened to me tonight that I just can't quite explain. I
just need you to trust me. Can I stay with you for the night? I really don't
wanna be here.

ALICIA
If there's something wrong, you better tell me, right now, what it is. I'm not
having you over if you don't explain this to me.

Carl thinks about this for a moment, but, before he could say another word, VENOM suddenly crashes in through the window and grabs Carl by the back of the neck.

CARL
(yells)
Run!

Carl pushes Alicia towards the door, she hesitates to leave for a moment.

VENOM
You should follow Prince Charming's advice, Alicia, before something really bad
happens to him.

Alicia rushes out of the room, and Venom turns Carl around so that he could face him. The SYMBIOTE reveals EDDIE's face to Carl and, to Carl's fright, Eddie's face looked just as a corpse did. Blue, cold, eyes closed. Carl started to cry in sight of this.

CARL
What have you done to him?

SYMBIOTE
You should ask yourself that very same question. You made him relive his most
devastating moment: the sight of his own father killing a helpless man. You led
us to finding him, you made us see his true self through your own stupidity.

CARL
No.

The symbiote runs back over Eddie's cold face again and forms the face of VENOM once more.

VENOM
(roaring)
And now you're going to die because of it!

Venom is about to launch Carl out the window by turning him around and pointing his back towards it, Carl closes his eyes, tears still coming through, but a POLICE OFFICER suddenly kicks open the door, with ALICIA behind the man as well, and points his gun at Venom. He was about to yell "freeze" but, when Venom turns around to face him, he just starts shooting at the monster.

Somehow dodging all of the shots fired, about three or four, Venom quickly leaps out of the window, with Carl still in his grip. Alicia races towards the window and looks down at the two falling, she could hear Carl's screams all the way down.

ALICIA
(yelling)
Carl!

She watches as Venom lands down on the ground, and starts running in the distance, at a tremendous speed, while now holding Carl over his shoulder.

The police officer races out of the room, calling immediately for back-up, as Alicia is left completely stunned while still left looking out the window as her friend gets carried away by a monster.

I think it's very cool the way Eddie is totally conscious while he is trapped the darkness able to see and here but powerless to move interact with the world around him

I think it's very cool the way Eddie is totally conscious while he is trapped the darkness able to see and here but powerless to move interact with the world around him

Good to hear, that was one of the fresh ideas I had come up with for this script and I'm glad to hear you liked it. I personally love it myself because it allows me to write it more as if it's a horror film. Since he can't control what he's doing, it's terrifying to see this other part of him that's completely dead and in his own head when he becomes Venom, it gives him a challenge to overcome as a person, but it also shows the symbiote in a sadistic, other-worldly manner which really terrifies me the more I write about it (in a good way, of course). Creatively, this is a very amazing character to write about IMO because it's two different species becoming one, and it begs the question, how could we win a battle like that? Does the real monster, the symbiote, have a conscience for what it's done to Eddie? Or is it truly evil and simply looking for personal gain? These back-and-forth questions are what really makes me love writing this character more and more. He's crazy! :sym:

Yeah that's the question isn't it? Misunderstood creature looking for a companion or a vicious otherworldly sadist

The only critique I can give for this story. When you introduce a new character give them a description so we as a reader can visualise them better

Yeah that's the question isn't it? Misunderstood creature looking for a companion or a vicious otherworldly sadist

For sure. I love that question because it makes you wonder who the real villain of the story is: is it Shocker or is it the symbiote itself? In this script, by the end of it, I want to give readers a reason to root for Shocker over Venom in that he wants to try and save Eddie this time, instead of challenge him to an after-school fight (which, going back and reading from my rough notes, was kind of a ridiculous way to set-up a final battle, felt too unmotivated to me when I went back to read it). I wanted to give the story a lot more heart this time around, and I wanted to write it like it was a horror film with Venom as the classic slasher villain (I loved writing the scene where he attacks the people on the street, especially when he pounces after them on all fours, I think that's a really creepy image, reminded me of Jeepers Creepers when I wrote it).

The only critique I can give for this story. When you introduce a new character give them a description so we as a reader can visualise them better

While I do love character descriptions, I like leaving that up to the viewer to interpret (except Venom and the symbiote of course, I wanted to describe both of them more because, even though they're iconic characters, they're sometimes hard to visualize in writing, so you really have to put in the extra detail, like the addition of Eddie being a cold corpse inside the symbiote when he becomes Venom). The only thing I'm worried about is writing a solid story with interesting characters, strong dialogue and great action scenes. Being a better writer now than I was two years ago, I'm really excited to revisit some of those action scenes that I developed (especially the last Shocker vs. Venom fight, which is something I cannot stop thinking about, especially now with the image of Eddie underneath the symbiote revealed, I can't wait to develop how battling Shocker will forever change Eddie's relationship with the symbiote and how, with the symbiote being weakened, they must allow Eddie to have more control since they've been bonded to him for so long up till that point).

love how you have done what has never been done before, hove done venom without spider man. The whole tree thing was very twilight zone or like something out of a short story

And I'm wondering how do u think it would be received if it were a movie. Personally it would be the spider man equivalent to the mandarin some would loathe it others would view it as very clever.

I got the same response in my fanfic where Carnage was a club or cult of serial killers brought together by Cletus and his terminally ill bed ridden lover

Some thought it was unique others viewed it as blasphemy

The tree was always a tough pill for me to swallow in the writing process, even when I first started in 2008, I loved the idea but I worried about how others would feel towards it at the same token. When reworking that scene from before, where the tree releases the symbiote, I wanted to make it more naturalistic this time around, I didn't like how the bullies tied Eddie up to a tree before when I first wrote it (seems cheesy to me now when I try and re-read it). The more I write this, the more I hate the original version I wrote. The rough notes did, however, help me understand further why I went in that direction, now that I'm a better writer, it's easier for me to visualize and actually write what I imagine on the keyboard.

If it were a movie, it'd have to be a trilogy for sure. My vision of it is:

+Venom: Shocker as the villain.
+Venom II: Scorpion as the villain, and his interpretation of Venom, along with the introduction of Cletus Kasady.
+Venom III: Carnage as the villain, BOOM, the end.

I like your idea for Carnage/Cletus Kasady, I'd have to read more into it to further understand your vision for sure, but it sounds like a great idea to have already developed the name for Carnage, through his cult of killers, only to reclaim that name truly when he becomes Carnage (with his bond to the symbiote).

At the end of the day it's all about the execution if the tree concept was well thought out then it works

So what made u go with that origin story for symbi??

I liked the idea of aliens planting the symbiote there in a way to either go against us or to make us into better people, that question remains opaque because the symbiote doesn't know its own origin or creator. Like Eddie, the symbiote's "father" abandoned them, which also makes the symbiote relate to Eddie, as both of their fathers abandoned them for seemingly selfish reasons. I wanted to make the symbiote the villain in this, but I also wanted to give the character, of the symbiote itself, a sympathetic edge as well (later on) in the script because, since it's bonded to Eddie, it must learn to accept Eddie as their host and allow him more control. It's a delicate tightrope to walk in trying to make the symbiote a sympathetic character later on while, at the same time, trying to make it a cruel and Hellish demon in it's early interactions with Eddie.

PART XI:

EXT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT

VENOM throws CARL down in the middle of a darkened and grimy alleyway, he tries to run away but Venom grabs him by the shoulder and flings him to a window. He crashes into it and falls back down onto the ground, as the window had metal bars on the other side to keep people from breaking in or out. Carl coughs repeatedly, Venom shakes his head.

CARL
(sniffles)
Why don't you just take me? Let Eddie go.

VENOM
Eddie's much stronger than you are.

Venom kicks Carl right in the teeth, causing a few of his teeth to come flying out and hit the ground. This made Carl suddenly start screaming in complete agony, but Venom quickly grabs his neck with his hand, forcing him to stop screaming in pain.

VENOM
You're a coward, Carl. You're too afraid to tell your friend that you're cheating
on him with the woman he's always loved?!

Squeezing tighter, Venom is absolutely enraged as he chokes Carl, opening his mouth wide to let Carl smell his foul breath too, Carl tried to turn away from it but could not because of Venom's strength.

CARL
(choking)
She's our friend! Nothing more!

VENOM
You're full of lies!

Venom slams Carl into the ground about five times before raising him back up to his eye-level.

VENOM
(yelling)
Tell us the truth!

CARL
I've been seeing her, behind Eddie's back, I've been seeing her!

Hearing this, Venom starts to loosen the grip he had around Carl's neck. Still not letting go though. Carl tries to force him to let go, but he won't. Carl gives up and just looks Venom straight in the eyes.

CARL
How much of Eddie is still left in there?

VENOM
We're now his consciousness, but Eddie will still survive. He sees what he
wishes but, when he goes against our better judgement, we must put him to
sleep. While he rests within our grasp, we explore his mind. All he dreams of,
all that he hears, everything he's ever even smelt before, we have had that
experience just as vividly as he has himself. His rage contains us, and we save
him with it.

CARL
Save him?

VENOM
Yes. There is cancer within him. We can stop it from spreading by leaving him
cold inside of us. We can heal him with his own growing rage and anger.

Venom lets go of Carl's neck finally, and Carl falls down to the ground because of his loss of balance. Landing on his rear, he looks back up to Venom.

CARL
I won't tell anyone. I promise. Just let me go. You can have Eddie.

VENOM
We already have Eddie. Why would we let you go? Because you promise not
to tell? The police already know, so does Eddie's downstairs neighbour, so
does Alicia, and so do you. And yet, you're the only one who knows the man
behind the maniac. Nobody else knows!

Venom starts laughing hysterically. Carl stands up and starts to run away from Venom.

VENOM
(calls)
You should have told Alicia about us while you still had the chance!

Carl turns the corner out of the alleyway and starts running down the street. He looks behind to see Venom turning the corner as well, while climbing the wall quickly in pursuit of Carl. Turning away from the monster, Carl starts running down the street in a frenzied hurry. He screams up and down the street, while running, trying to gain people's attention, but no one seemed to notice or care.

Catching up with Carl, Venom lunges towards Carl which knocks him onto the road. Carl, as quick as he could, rolled to his feet and just barely dodged another attack from Venom, who slashed his claws forcefully into the road and was now stuck there because of it. Trying to pull his nails out of the road, Venom screams in absolute frustration as his whole body starts rapidly rotating in a desperate attempt to get free. Finally he pulls his nails out of the road and starts racing back after Carl, who was now about a block away from Venom.

VENOM
(screaming)
Get back here!

Carl turns around to notice Venom's started running after him again. He looks forward to focus on where he was running.

CARL
(yelling, repeatedly)
Help me!

CUT TO:

INT. HERMAN'S APARTMENT

Wearing his Shocker suit, maskless, while preparing for another bank robbery, HERMAN gets his gear ready. But, from his 3rd floor apartment, he could hear someone screaming for help. Checking his window, he looks outside to see CARL running away from VENOM. Herman is baffled by Venom, but bravely turns around and picks his mask up off the table and puts it on.

CUT TO:

EXT. PARK

Running through a park now, CARL is almost breathless, repeatedly looking behind him, trying to keep a steady pace. VENOM is revealed, in seeing him, Carl tries to run faster, but cannot because he's almost completely out of breath. He falls to the ground by tripping over something and lands on his face. He can't see because he landed in mud, so he starts to panic as he rolls around everywhere, trying his best not to get caught by Venom, but Venom picks him up with no trouble and tosses Carl straight into the park playground. His back lands against the metal slide, which is dented by the impact of Carl's landing. Venom leaps towards Carl and punches him in the stomach, which caused the slide to dent down even further due to Venom's power.

Carl, screaming from the pain of Venom's vicious attacks, throws his hands up in-front of Venom, a sign of surrender.

VENOM
(laughing)
You really want to prove us right, that you're a coward, don't you?

CARL
Please, I'm begging you.

VENOM
Continue begging then. It makes us happy.

Venom smiles delightfully, but is suddenly sent flying away from Carl after being blasted by HERMAN, a.k.a. THE SHOCKER. Carl looks at the man who saved his life, speechless, but clearly thankful, he nods to the man. Shocker nods back. Then, all of a sudden, Venom leaps towards Shocker and takes him down to the ground in fury and starts to punch at his head but notices he is barely causing damage to the man behind the mask. So Venom grabs the back of Shocker's head, readying, with his other hand, to punch him hard in the face but Shocker stops him by blasting Venom in the face with his gauntlets, which forces him off of Shocker.

Hiding EDDIE's lifeless face and identity from Shocker, the symbiote recreates Venom's face again over-top of Eddie's, turning around afterwards and screaming at the attacker. Shocker charges up his gauntlets, readying to fire on Venom again. Pointing the gauntlets at Venom.

SHOCKER
Try me.

Venom snarls at the man.

VENOM
You're so willing to defend a worm like him? Pathetic.

SHOCKER
Attacking a man just for the hell of it doesn't sound pathetic to you? Maybe
you're the one that's pathetic, monster.

VENOM
This is none of your business!

Venom charges towards Shocker, screaming like a mad man. Shocker goes to blast Venom again but the monster leaps out of the way of both charged-up blasts. Shocker charges up his gauntlets again, but is too late to use them as Venom kicks him to the ground; though his gauntlets still remained charged upon landing. Quickly running to where he landed, Venom went to stomp Shocker's head into the ground, but the man rolls out of the way and quickly shoots Venom with his charged-up gauntlets, sending him flying about 20-feet away before landing to the grass with a thud.

Shocker stands up, ready to fight, but remembers Carl, turning around to see him lying helpless against the dented slide, he rushes towards him, but, about halfway to him, Venom stops Shocker from reaching Carl and stabs him in the back with his claws. Shocker screams, as Venom throws him over his back, now making his way towards Carl, as Shocker landed close behind him.

With still a bit of fight left in him, Shocker stands up and runs towards the intimidating monster. Before he could reach Carl, he grabbed him by the shoulder and forced Venom to turn around. Venom was ready for it though, as he swung his claws up, again in another attempt at stabbing him. Shocker dodged the attack though, this time landing a punch right into Venom's jaw which disoriented him for a moment. This gave Shocker enough time to trip Venom up, by swinging his leg towards the back of Venom's feet, and grab Carl off the slide quickly.

Venom, on his back now thanks to the trip, watched as Shocker stepped away from him. With Carl safe in his grip, he fired-up his jet-boots. Venom realizes what the jet-boots were for and shrieks, knowing he was about to get away, he jumps to his feet and tries to stop Shocker from taking off, but he shoots up into the sky within an instant with Carl safe beside him. Venom went to jump and grab him, but could not reach Shocker in time and landed back down onto the grass in the park. Filled with utter disappointment, Venom kicks at the grass like an angry child.

Really good stuff. Carl is such a worm

But venom kicked his cowardly butt

Here are some songs that I find go well with the character (or at least the way that I'm portraying him so far):

I also love how the symbiotic needs to keep Eddie sweet so it's (in its own mind) solving all his problems for him

Really good stuff. Carl is such a worm

But venom kicked his cowardly butt

I personally love the Carl character and it breaks my heart to imagine him being tossed around by Venom because, even though he's seeing Alicia behind his back, he's still his best (and maybe only) friend and the one person who can potentially save Eddie's life from continually being consumed by the symbiote.

I also love how the symbiotic needs to keep Eddie sweet so it's (in its own mind) solving all his problems for him

I love that idea myself too, it gives Eddie more of an incentive to stick around with the symbiote in knowing that it's trying to make his life better. But, at the same token, he seems to recognize that it's also morally wrong to do what the symbiote is doing to him (and others alike) and the battle that lies within Eddie is the most compelling battle of the story IMO because, while the symbiote is saving his life, it's costing him his life at the same time (as shown in the previous section with Eddie's cold corpse being revealed to Carl, which should be the most horrifying image of the story).

PART XII:

EXT. MIDAIR - NIGHT

Travelling far away from Venom, SHOCKER hangs on to CARL's unconscious body while travelling through the air. He sees his rooftop ahead, looking at his own suit, however, made him nervous. His yellow and red suit was pretty damaged, and he was still bleeding from Venom's attack on his back; stabbing him with his razor-sharp claws. Shocker lowers in, preparing to land on the rooftop to his apartment, but Carl suddenly wakes up and starts screaming in fear of the height.

SHOCKER
(angry)
Shut your bloody mouth, you stupid idiot!

Carl shuts up immediately, as Shocker's eyes look worried about the landing.

EXT. HERMAN'S APARTMENT, ROOFTOP

Though initially worried, SHOCKER makes the landing just fine and lets CARL go immediately upon their arrival in the middle of the apartment building. Shocker takes off his mask.

Carl goes to throw-up in the corner, but cannot no matter how hard he tries. He gives up and tries to breathe steadily, he looks up at HERMAN holding his mask beside his face.

HERMAN
Hell of a shocker, ain't it? To see the very man you were insulting the other
night suddenly come out and save your worthless life?
(beat)
No thanks? What kind of person are you?!

CARL
I'm terrified, man. Okay?

HERMAN
Terrified doesn't matter, I saw that thing too!

CARL
You don't understand
(deep breath, exhales)
that's my friend under there, Eddie, the guy I was with the other night.

Herman's eyes widen. He approaches Carl, and once close enough, crouches down beside him.

HERMAN
What the hell happened to him?

Carl finds it tough to answer, he imagines Venom in his mind and gets the chills.

CARL
The tree at the school. It was the key to this whole thing starting
(crying)
this black s--- crawled out of the f------ tree and killed my friend, that's all I
know! It knew everything about me immediately!

HERMAN
What do you mean?

CARL
Eddie didn't know I was seeing Alicia, but this monster knows and almost killed
me because of it. It's as if the thing saw everything it needed to, but so much
more along the way. I don't know how to describe it, and it sounds as if I'm
making up bogus to the police, so what the hell does it matter?! That thing
killed my friend and it's making him it's puppet now! I won't let that happen!

HERMAN
Calm down, kid. You're not singing Shakespeare up here. I get it, that thing's
scary. Does Eddie go to school any more?

CARL
Probably not. But, if he does, that monster's making him do it. You go to that
school, don't you?

HERMAN
Yes I do.

CARL
Can you keep an eye on Alicia for me?

HERMAN
Of course I could. What does she look like? Is she hot or something?

CARL
You know this is technically my girlfriend we're talking about, right?

HERMAN
So? I didn't say I was going to be hitting on her or anything, did I?

Herman chuckles briefly for a moment, quieting down when he notices Carl getting angry, but then he turns his attention away from Carl and up to the midnight sky.

HERMAN
That thing can't be from here. There's no possible way something like that
could be from this world.

Herman continues to look up at the darkly light sky, as Carl does as well.

CARL
(beat)
Police wouldn't believe this bull---- anyway.

HERMAN
Maybe they would.

Herman turns around to face Carl once again.

HERMAN
There do exist men who can swing between skyscrapers in Manhattan after all.

CARL
(nodding)
You do have a point there.

HERMAN
That I do.

CARL
Several actually. I'm sorry about the other night by the way.

Herman smirks, nodding his head in approval.

HERMAN
It's fine. You didn't know me, I didn't know you. Strangers hate each other normally, I find.

CARL
That they do.

Herman gets up to his feet, he lends Carl a hand and helps him back to his feet as well. Carl keeps holding his hand though and, in turn, shakes hands with Herman.

CUT TO:

INT. EDDIE'S APARTMENT, BEDROOM

That same night, EDDIE finds himself awoken in the middle of his bed to find that his life has been completely turned upside-down. He holds his head in his hands, then the washroom door creaks open. The SYMBIOTE comes crawling out of the washroom while being stuck to the wall, not to mention it's shaped into a skeletal-like form of Venom, which completely terrifies Eddie to the point where he immediately jumps out of his bed. But he notices there's nowhere to run, the symbiote's right beside the doorway.

SYMBIOTE
Thank you, Eddie.

The symbiote drops down on its made-up feet and starts to walk towards Eddie, who backs up and ends up sitting down on his bed.

SYMBIOTE
You make us more powerful by the day.

The symbiote sits on Eddie's bed, right up next to him. The creature's blank, cold and monstrous-looking face sat close to Eddie's own. He looks it right at where the eyes would normally be located, the creature takes notice.

SYMBIOTE
And with your growing freedom within us, we help save to your life in return.
All of this rage will pay off for you eventually, Eddie, there's no stopping you
once you're set loose.

EDDIE
(nods, almost
frightfully)
Where do you come from?

SYMBIOTE
We don't know. That's what makes us relate to you most of all. Our creators
abandoned us, just like your father did. It's what bonds us together.

A tear comes rolling down Eddie's cheek, he turns away from the symbiote creature and it smiles big in a scheming sort of way.

EDDIE
I don't want to feel that pain that you put me through again!

Eddie looks up at the creature, once more, dead in the eyes.

EDDIE
I want to control us this time. I want my life back!

The creature looks sceptical towards Eddie, but Eddie smiles big as well which seems to genuinely impress the symbiote.

I like how Ed and the symbiote are like a possessive romance. Die will stay with but he won't be owned or smothered by him

PART XIII:

EXT. WOODBOROUGH COLLEGE - DAY

It was morning, and a lot of STUDENTS were standing around the broken tree. Tire marks all around the grass where the students stood as a truck, with several chains tied around the tree connecting to the back of the truck, prepared to pull the tree out of its roots and down to the ground.

ALICIA walks up to the TRUCK DRIVER, who has his window rolled down.

ALICIA
What are you doing?

TRUCK DRIVER
Preparing to pull a tree down. What did you think I was doing? The school
asked me to do it.

ALICIA
But why?

TRUCK DRIVER
Some idiot crashed their truck into it last night. Must have been drunk or
something. They just crashed into it and abandoned the truck as if they
meant to hit the poor thing.

Alicia examines the damage done to the tree for a moment, looking at the huge crack indented into the tree.

ALICIA
That doesn't look normal to me.

The truck driver follows Alicia's stare to look at the tree's damage too.

TRUCK DRIVER
Doesn't look normal to me either. That's why it's gotta go.

ALICIA
Isn't this the tree that was originally planted for the school itself? Why would
they tear it down over a little damage?

TRUCK DRIVER
Kid, in my profession, you don't ask too many questions.

Alicia, shaking her head, rolls her eyes and walks away from the truck driver to stand with the crowd of students watching from behind the tree so that it doesn't collapse over them. The driver revs the engines, but cannot move the tree. He looks out his window at the tree to see if it's moved, it hasn't and doesn't as he continues putting the pedal to the metal.

ALICIA
(shouts at the truck driver)
Maybe you should use an axe, man!

TRUCK DRIVER
(shouts back)
Why don't you go and get me one then?!

Alicia shakes her head again, getting ready to turn around and head up to the front doors of the college she suddenly bumps into EDDIE. This makes her jump in fright. Eddie smiles at her.

ALICIA
Eddie? What are you doing here?

EDDIE
I was in the neighbourhood. Guess what?

ALICIA
What?

EDDIE
I'm taking journalism with you now.

ALICIA
Oh.

Alicia walks past Eddie, biting her lip when she passes his view, clearly worried about something, she turns back around to look at him and he catches right up to her.

EDDIE
What's the matter?

Alicia stops dead in her tracks, facing Eddie.

ALICIA
(angered)
Did you not hear what happened to Carl last night?!

EDDIE
Chill out, Alicia. What the hell are you talking about?

ALICIA
Some
(hesitant, confused)
thing took him last night. Something hideous.

EDDIE
What?

ALICIA
I don't know how to describe it, Eddie, I'm trying my best to forget it. It took
Carl though, now I don't know where he is or if he's even still alive! Don't you
care at all!?

EDDIE
I do care, having just found this out. But you're not making any sense.

ALICIA
Whatever.

Alicia tries to walk past Eddie, but he grabs her by the wrist and she suddenly swings a slap his way in which he quickly catches as well. Eddie forcefully pushes her away from him, making her fall to the grass on her bottom.

Eddie motions that he's about to kick her in the face, his face looks terribly rage-filled and hateful down at her.

EDDIE
(screams)
You dare to try and slap me?!

Alicia, fearful for her life, curls up into a ball really quick in an attempt to defend herself from Eddie's threat. But he gives up, standing normally again. He walks right past her, leaving her on the grass in tears.

Walking away, Eddie reaches the front doors of the college and, instead of walking right on through them, he punches the wall in complete frustration, screaming like a mad man so that all of the students surrounding the school and the tree could turn around to see. Pulling his fist off the wall, his knuckles and bloodied and terribly bruised now because of the punch. He snarls at the wound, forcefully opening the door as he charges inside the college.

INT. JOURNALISM CLASS

EDDIE sits at the back row of his class surrounded by several other STUDENTS taking the same course as well. He scans the crowd to try and find where Alicia would be sitting, he stares at an empty seat where she should have been sitting. He looks up at the teacher, MS. GREENSPAN, who notices him staring at the empty seat.

MS. GREENSPAN
Have you seen Alicia anywhere, Eddie? She's never missed a class yet.

EDDIE
Why do you ask?

MS. GREENSPAN
Well you're looking right at her seat, it's almost as if you miss her.

EDDIE
(chuckles, ranting)
Give me a break. Go on with your lecture, would ya? Stop wasting our time. I
don't pay to be here to listen to your worrying! Okay!? Forget her! She's gone!
Alright?!

Ms. Greenspan is left speechless by Eddie's angry little rant, which, in turn, leaves the students speechless as well as most of them turn around to stare at Eddie.

EDDIE
(to everyone)
And why don't you all just mind your own business?! I came here to learn
something, not to be stared down by a batch of fools! Take a picture if you
feel the need to stare at me for an extended period of time. Got it?!

Some JOCK, who was minding his own business, turns around to look at Eddie.

JOCK
You finished yelling at everybody yet?

EDDIE
Totally.

JOCK
Good.

The jock turns back around, and Eddie stares at the back of the man's head for moments as if he were possessed. Mr. Greenspan notices this.

MS. GREENSPAN
Are we done here?

EDDIE
We're done.

Eddie stops staring at the back of the jock's head and looks at Ms. Greenspan, smirking.

EDDIE
Sorry, Ms. Greenspan. My mistake. I just woke up on the wrong side of the
bed this morning. Please forgive me.

MS. GREENSPAN
You're forgiven. Now shut up, if you wanna learn something.

Eddie nods passionately. Pulling out his notebook, ready to take notes.

CUT TO:

INT. HALLWAY

Just outside of Ms. Greenspan's journalism class, ALICIA readies herself to go into the class but, through the window, she sees EDDIE inside taking notes. She pulls herself away from the window so that she's not detected, leaning up against the wall beside the door instead she takes a deep breath and exhales.

Just around the corner, HERMAN turns around with a backpack on his back and his phone out. Texting Carl back, he starts looking quickly up and down the halls, he finally catches sight of Alicia just down the hallway standing by her journalism class, just about to go inside.

HERMAN
(calls)
Alicia?! Stop!

Alicia turns around to look at Herman.

CUT TO:

INT. JOURNALISM CLASS

MS. GREENSPAN'S words are suddenly faded away through EDDIE'S hearing as the SYMBIOTE, hidden beneath his clothing, detects HERMAN'S voice outside. Eddie looks villainously towards the door, wanting to get up and go to it right away. But he stops himself, holding onto the desk tightly. Clearly there's a part of Eddie that is still trying to fight the symbiote's control.

EDDIE
(mutters)
No.

The JOCK turns around slightly to look at Eddie's struggle.

SYMBIOTE
(narration, in Eddie's mind)
That's the man who attacked us last night! Finish him! Make him suffer. Make
her suffer too for cheating on us!

A tear starts to roll down from Eddie's eye, as his hands start to turn blood-red from his tight grip holding onto the desk.

EDDIE
(mutters, begging)
Please.

The jock looks a little saddened as well, he turns around again in an attempt to mind his own business but notices, through the window in the door, that HERMAN and ALICIA are outside of the classroom. Herman grabs hold of both of Alicia's shoulders, pleading with her.

CUT TO:

INT. HALLWAY

HERMAN
You're not safe here. Something's wrong with your friend. He's changed into
something, he d--- near killed your friend last night. Carl asked me to get you
somewhere safe because, let me tell ya, you sure as s--- ain't safe here with
whatever
(beat)
that thing is that's manipulating your friend. Trust me?

CUT TO:

INT. JOURNALISM CLASS

EDDIE's struggle to maintain control continues, as the SYMBIOTE seems to tighten it's grip around his body. He groans for a moment, but stops when he realizes some other STUDENTS are paying attention to his inner struggle. He looks away from them all, focusing on MS. GREENSPAN writing on the chalkboard as best as he could.

SYMBIOTE
(narration, in Eddie's mind)
He is lying. We do not manipulate you, Eddie. We expand on you. We make
you stronger. Powerful. Nothing can stop us when we are Venom!

Eddie closes his eyes, struggling even further than before, but then suddenly shoots up out of his seat, which catches everyone by complete surprise as a loud thud is heard as soon as he stood. He starts marching down the stairs, towards the door where he could now see HERMAN and ALICIA clearly stood outside in the hallway.

CUT TO:

INT. HALLWAY

HERMAN peers in through the window really quick to catch EDDIE marching towards them in a bitter hurry. ALICIA turns and notices too. She runs off down the hallway, Herman follows her.

Eddie opens the door, stepping out into the hallway now, he races after Herman and Alicia.

While running, Herman pulls the backpack of his back which he had been carrying with him all that time. He zips it open and pulls out a single gauntlet out of his backpack. He drops the now empty backpack, with Eddie getting much closer, and puts the gauntlet on his hand. He clenches his fist down to charge it up, as Eddie is just a second away from catching him, Herman turns around towards Eddie and blasts him with a charge, which sends him flying away from them.

Alicia stops, turns around, and notices this, as Herman runs back up to her really quick. He grabs her arm, running as fast as they both could finally out the doors to exit the school.

Meanwhile, Eddie slowly gets back up to his feet. The SYMBIOTE starts oozing out from underneath his clothing and completely drenches Eddie, quickly becoming VENOM in the process. The monster pounced towards the exit doors like a rabid animal.

CUT TO:

EXT. PARKING LOT, WOODBOROUGH COLLEGE

HERMAN, while still holding onto ALICIA'S arm, runs to his car in a hurry, unlocks it and gets inside of it with Alicia on the passenger's side.

INT. HERMAN'S CAR

HERMAN starts up the car by inserting his key into it, but, before he could drive off safe, VENOM leapt at the window and crashed right through it. The damage from the broken window seemed to hurt the SYMBIOTE and EDDIE himself, as cuts from the glass made Eddie's exposed skin underneath start to bleed.

Herman starts driving with Venom caught in the windshield, stuck for a moment. Venom smashed up the rest of the window to release himself and went to slash at Herman's face, but he leaned back, just avoiding getting scratched. He turns the car sharply to the left, which knocks Venom off the hood. But he still manages to hang on, by digging his claws into the hood itself.

Hanging off the side of the car now, Venom kicked at the driver's window and the broken glass crashes right into Herman's face. This blinds Herman for a moment, as the car veers out of control.

Venom regained his stance on top of the hood again, he smiles big at Alicia who scream aloud. But she grabs hold of the wheel, forcefully turning it to the right, while Herman was still blinded, banging into the brick wall up against the college which made Venom fly off the hood completely.

ALICIA
Reverse!

Herman hears her and follows her command, regaining his vision, though slightly cut around the eyes, he reverses away from Venom. He spins the car back into the direction he was headed to get out of the college's parking lot and accelerates out of there in a hurry. Leaving Venom behind, as Alicia turned around to see that the monster, once it got back up, was still chasing them. But the car was thankfully much faster, as Alicia and Herman both took a sigh of relief, all the while racing through traffic, dodging cars in the process.

I like how Ed and the symbiote are like a possessive romance. Die will stay with but he won't be owned or smothered by him

The thing with the symbiote, the way I imagined it has been an alien vessel for various types of personalities that are always clashing with one another to create something that's vengeful and terrifying, something that cannot be tamed. There are so many levels to this kind of character, the symbiote itself, which are horrifying to imagine because they were sent here to change us into something else, something terrifying. I think of this film as a cross between The Terminator, Jeepers Creepers, Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Thing. I've got a new ending in mind that will be pretty awesome and terrifying at the same time as well. I can't wait to finish this, I only need a better modem for the internet I have because it keeps cutting in and out whenever I try and go online (so it's difficult trying to write the story when I can't even go online for 5 minutes). :wow:
