Very Special Episodes

I don't know about the eating disorder thing, but I know there was an episode where Tracey Golds boyfriend (played by a young Brad Pitt) dies in an accident after drinking and driving.

Another tear jerker was the Episode of M*A*S*H* when Col. Blake finally gets to go home, but then the crew recieves news that his helicopter was shot down and he was killed.
it was Mathew Perry not Brad Pitt.

I only know this because it was on a tv special but "Maude" for the abortion episode.

Another Fullhouse one is when their grandpa dies, John stamos even made an announcement at the beginning

Every episode with Brandon Fraiser for Scrubs.
My favorite episodes from that series

There were a lot of "very special episodes" for Boy Meets World. Each one basically screws up Shawn too. He gets drunk; He's lied to about his mom; His dad dies; He gets sucked into an occult; His dad bails on him every other episode; etc. I felt bad for Shawn through out the series. I would always wonder how much they could dump on him even more. It's a wonder he didn't try to off himself.

Ditto.

Who's The Boss? -where Samantha's Uncle Nick dies (in reality actor James Coco had passed away).

Mr. Belvedere -Wesley's camp counselor seems to like little boys.

I know this isn't a special episode comment but a joke on Family Guy made me remember that on the Facts Of Life there was recurring cast member who was mentally handicapped, I think she was Blair's cousin Gerry.

Diff'rent Strokes -Arnold also gets a new friend who's in a wheelchair

I know Beverly Hills 90210 wasn't a comedy but I wanted to mention in the 1st season when a black family moved into the neighborhood and were never heard from again on the show, Vivica A. Fox was a guest star.

Hey this thread seems to be dying so I'll post something interesting that was on Wikipedia:

The Facts of Life was one of the first television shows to feature a person with cerebal palsy as a recurring character. In an interview as part of the E! True Hollywood Story for The Facts of Life, Geri Jewell stated that she believed she was going to continue as a recurring character on the show during the sixth season, but the producers only offered her one episode for the season because viewers would immediately assume that any episode with Cousin Geri would be a very special episode. Jewell stated that she stopped appearing on the show for this reason.
