Villains who should have never turned good

James Rhodes was one of the soldiers who destroyed Bengal's village during 'Nam upon being ordered to do so by Corporal Micheal Janes. The soldiers were paniced after Viet Cong attacks and would fire their weapons wildly, destroying the village and killing civilians. Nearly every 'Nam story in Marvel usually ended in soldiers committing atrocities. That would make Rhodes rather old today, so I am sure in the slide scale of Marvel time, that attack became "some war" rather than being dated in 'Nam, which ended in the 70's.

Bengal sought revenge on all responsible for that massacre. While for much of this history they led him to try to kill Janes, he also battled some of the other soldiers, like William Talltrees, who became the hero Red Wolf, or Willie Lincoln, who was defended by Daredevil. His quest for vengence against Janes soon intertwined with Night-Thrasher's history.

I don't mind Constrictor trying to go straight, as he was more of a merc, doing gigs for money, than an outright evil person. It wouldn't be so bad if he got another partner to work with who was not quite as unstable as Sabretooth. Granted, if he ever needs money, he helped save a lot of rich people in THE THING #2-3.

Ouch. Keeping Rhodey and Bengal on opposite ends of Camp Hammond would be the smart thing to do. Although, Bengal seems to be...level headed about working for him.
 
Bishop. I always thought he was held down playing the captured slave role when he joined the team. I always wished Bishop would dump those losers (the X-men) hook back up with Deathbird and become one of the X-men's greatest enemies. Lastly, why in the hell did they cut his hair? THATS WHAT MADE HIM SUCH A GANGSTER PIMP!

As a kid I liked the way Nicieza (Bengal's creator) had his storyline running through a bunch of different titles: Marvel Comics Presents, Daredevil, New Warriors. He's always been one of those cool lower tier characters to me.

Why would Bishop want to become the X-Men's greatest enemy? :confused:
 
Because the Man is trying to keep him down, and he don't play that ****, mutha****a.
 
Bishop was at his best in the early 90's,now he's just a shell of his former self.

My say would be The Juggernaught,he should have never turned good.The X-Men lost one of their oldest foes.
 
Juggernaut is pretty cool as a good guy I think.

I hope Norman Obsorn snaps out of this whole damn Thunderbolts thing though. That's lame.

Mac Gargan as Venom should become the good Venom. Eddie Brock should be the bad Venom.
 
with mac becoming venom we lost too spidey enemies.
 
I like Juggernaut as a good guy. He originally just wanted revenge on his brother (who took his love away from his father, and left him for dead in Korea), which grew into a grudge against the X-Men for protecting him, which led to teaming up with other villains to fight the X-Men. Cain is a very old man who was nursing a very old grudge. It's not hard to believe he'd eventually make up with Charles, and as soon as that happened, he lost his purpose for being a villain.

Magneto is a mixed bag. In my opinion, he should've never turned good in the first place. Claremont tried way too damned hard to redeem him, and he ended up turning into Charlie 2.0. Problem is, no two writers since then have been able to agree on what to do with him. The next writer to come along turned Magneto back into a villain with no explanation. Then he was good again, also with no explanation. Then he was morally grey. Then evil. Then good. Then grey. It's a horrible cycle.

I think Magneto should just be left alone. Morrison and Claremont proved that very well, a few years ago. One minute, Magneto is mercilessly killing humans in Manhattan, recruiting the "special ed" kids for a new Brotherhood, taking drugs, and killing Jean Grey for no particular reason. The next, he's saying "I'm only human," sipping tea with Charles, and walking around in a sweater & slacks all the damn time.
 
I normally dont like when badguy characters turn good.

However there are some exceptions. I'd kinda like to see the Puma becoming a superhero for example.

What about Deadpool? He sort of turned good from what I remember of the Cable and Deadpool comics. Not that I really mind, I find that character hilarious in any mood.
 
Deadpool doesn't have to be good or bad. Just hilarious.
