Vin Diesel's Hannibal Project

I hope this movie is cool. It could be like Vin Diesel's equivelant to Conan, only more intelligent.

Hmmm...this will either be really good or a horrible crapfest. It'll be interesting to find out more as details of it slip out.

jag

Vin Diesel, you sneaky clever bastard. Now you and Twohy make Riddick 3.

Im hoping that Diesel assumes his Riddick persona which made Pitch Black a badass movie.

This is his passion...making this film. He signed onto FATF4 (sold his soul) so he could get financing for Hannibal. Smart move.

^ Hannibal the Conqueror...hold on I'll get the details.

Ok here:

Based Upon: This movie is based upon the life of the Carthaginian general, Hannibal Barca, who in the third century B.C. (218 B.C., specifically) famously led an army of elephants through the Alps in an attempt to attack Rome. More specifically, this movie is being adapted from the novel, "Hannibal," by Ross Leckie about Hannibal.

From Yahoo's Preview site...there's more if you just google Hannibal and Vin Diesel.

yes i can.
Im not going to, tho. rules and all that.

plus, you want mind freeky, watch british mentalist pickpocket and all round far to clever for his own good bloke, Derren Brown.

trust me, he is shockingly freeky. and as camp as a row of pink tents to boot.

No one cared enough to report it. "Hey look!!! It's!!! It's!!....Vin Diesel.... nevermind."

LOL so true...if it was anyone BUT Vin Disel, I would have been interested in this. Shame.

Hannibal concept art! Spotted this on artist/designer Miles Teves' official site. These were done 4 years ago, probably an earlier draft of the script.

When Vin Diesel was here to promote Riddick he said he was busy working on the movie and that he was scouting locations in Spain. Not much news has come out since.

P.S: Perhaps the thread could be renamed?

Will Vin have hair then in the film?
He looks better without any lol.

This looks like a weird film then, but I'll see it.

Dang, I remember hearing about this 3+ years ago.
I really hope that it gets mad. Vin Diesel is nowhere near as bad as people make him out to be, IMO.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Hannibal dark skin? Vin is way too high-yella light skin for the role.

But I can't complain, because they actually casted a black man for the part (well, sort of black. Which figures; can't make him too black, thats un-Hollywood. Oh, never mind that was an African warrior).

there actually might be another Hannibal film at some point starring Denzel Washington.

and i've read that Vin is trying to make this like Braveheart, Mel Gibson is his hero or something, and since he directed and starred in Braveheart, Vin wants to do the same but with Hannibal

i wonder if he will lose his eye in the film, or if Vin is too pretty boy to keep that part in:oldrazz:, but it looks like hes missing it in that concept art, and since hes so passionate about this project im assuming hed try to keep it pretty historically accurate

Title altered Retro:cwink:
Thanks.:word:

Diesel said something about wanting to do the movie(s) entirely in the language that they spoke at the time, Punic. So he's obviously aiming to make it historically accurate.Maybe that's one of the stumbling blocks of getting this off the ground.

Edit- BTW apparently this guy has been cast in Hannibal.

Vin needs to forget about making this in another language and just do it in English. Its a good thing that he likes Braveheart, thats the type of film this should be like.

Maybe a mix of English and Punic.Don't ask me how though.:woot:

I want it on English, solely because I'll enjoy it so much better that way.

You know, I'm not a Vin Diesel fan by any stretch, but if done right, this could turn out okay. It all depends on the director.

Vin has been real quiet lately. Babylon AD looks like fun but then his schedule seems vacant. He's getting ready to ride his second wave. I think Riddick kind of f'd him up.
