Waco Biker Gang Shootout at Twin Peaks

Demographics aren't only for minorities of skin color and you are the one who has stated anyone in a biker gang, which can be quite the loose definition, is automatically a criminal.

So now we have to be inclusive and sensitive to the feelings of adults who voluntarily choose to join groups? I guess we shouldn't stereotype people in the KuKluxKlan, members of ISIS, or Neo-Nazis in Europe. Because by your reasoning, they are demographics as well, and that'd be stereotyping.

Oh, and I never stated "anyone in a biker gang is automatically a criminal." It's likely they will commit a criminal act at some time, but all the same, don't put words in my mouth.

You are taking one group, the Banditos, and applying their reputation generically. That and even criminals have rights. Unless you don't mind the cops just arresting people in sight for being too "criminal" looking.

This group was the major antagonistic party in this shooting along with the "Cossacks", another violent biker gang. Sorry, but modern bikers aren't the groovy dudes from "Easy Rider." They're outlaws, often meth addicts, often white supremacists, they engage in turf warfare with other gangs, they often terrorize locals in their community….. they're not nice people.

It's funny how the media doesn't label them as "THUGS" like they would if it had been black gangs.

The turf war

Sunday's brutal beat down at a Twin Peaks restaurant had been brewing for a while.

The gangs knew it. The police knew.

It boils down to territory, according to Falco and Steve Cook, a Kansas City-area police detective who has also infiltrated biker gangs.

While they have members elsewhere, both the Bandidos and Cossacks call Texas home. The Bandidos have been the biggest and most dominant; as such, while they "allow other motorcycles clubs to exist, they're not allowed to wear that state bottom rocker," Falco said. "If they do, they face the onslaught of the Bandidos."

Not familiar with the bottom rocker? It's the state name on the back of a biker's vest. It kind of looks like the curved bottom of a rocking chair, hence the name.

The rocker can indicate where someone is from, but it's also a territorial claim for that club. That's why the Bandidos and Cossacks aren't getting along, according to Falco.

"The Cossacks decided that they were big enough now to go ahead and wear the Texas bottom rocker, and basically tell the Bandidos that they're ready for war," he said.

Falco said the fight is about being able to "be the biggest man on the block (and) say, 'This is ours.'" But Cook says it goes beyond pride, insisting biker gangs "are also claiming all the criminal activity that goes along with" being top dog.

"These guys are organized crime," Cook told CNN on Tuesday. "They are involved in a laundry list of racketeering activities. They use (manufacture, and) sell drugs. They steal motorcycles. They extort people. They rape, rob and murder."

I'm just waiting on Donald Trump and Bill O'Reilly to call upon the white leaders in the community to talk about how they should stop white on white crime.

I saw CNN got chewed out by the police chief by reporting that several bikers were dead due to police while the autopsies weren't even done yet.

CNN jumping the gun and reporting unsubstantiated gossip. Well I never :o

see this is why the human race is Doomed! instead of going to "Twin Peaks" restaurants and enjoying the view of delicious snowy mountain tops!( it is a restaurant to view mountains right!?) dummies went to shoot and kill each other!.. some people just dont understand you go there for the beer and chicken wings but stay for the VIEW! you dont go there to shoot rival biker gangs! geez whiz! come on!

Not sure. A biker restaurant with the name Twin Peaks could also have a completely different meaning.

True! those guys do have alot of "leather chaps" and stuff. so it could have been THAT OTHER KINDA restaurant and not a "breastaurant" .... maybe some type of "rodeo clown bar whos into rock and roll!":cwink:

You never know. When growing up, I had a good friend who pretty much had her whole family in a biker gang. Granted, I never saw anything bad, and I felt totally safe with them. I just knew the mom worked at a strip joint, and he worked at a mechanics, and on the weekends, he would go off roading with the guys. But, when it came to biker business or parties, the father would never go, and would just keep the family home. Pehaps he knew how bad they could get and just didn't want to risk his kids in something like that.

i blame country and rock music.

Haha sorry. I thought it might be, but you never know on these boards.

I bet the fight started over something stupid and drug and booze fueled. Yay...violent people sucking the fun out of life yet again...

I think it must have started with an argument over which production should win Best Musical at the upcoming Tony Awards. The faction supporting Kander and Ebb's dark swan song The Visit are ****ing hardcore mother****ers.

I've read some reports (albeit non official) that all of those killed were from police shooting into the crowd.

I'm pretty sure CNN started this and it isn't official. But the fact the biker gangs started a fight and shootout at all is enough for me to still be behind the police on this one. Its not like firing into a crowd of protesters or beating down an unarmed black man, these were dangerous guys who may have escalated things even further. Unless I hear the police randomly started shooting and set things off, I think they are in the right this time.

It's kinda like how critics like to site rap music as a reason why blacks are violent.

After realizing that the restaurant that they are in shares the same name as a David Lynch tv show, they got into a heated debate over what the best David Lynch movie is.

Half of them liked 'Blue Velvet' because it had Dennis Hopper, who is also their chopper-god from 'Easy Rider'.... and half of them preferred 'Lost Highway', because it has the word "highway" in it. When will there be peace between the warring Lynch camps?! When?!?

Didn't critics cry the same thing about Elvis? Critics just need to shut up and ship out.
