I just got this from a review:

The result? Predictably, by the time of the big, swinging-through-the-concrete-canyons climax, we've pretty much lost interest.

I thought they excluded that from this one?

the final scene is not a swining scene. but he does swing to get to the construction site reachign the climax.

Spider-Man 3 does not end with a swing.

True. The final shot:
MJ and Peter dancing, in a hug, then fades to black and credits

climax does not equal the end of the movie

I can remember the trailers. At the end
After the battle, can't really remember if anything happens in the middle, but then, we go to the jazz club where MJ sings, and when she is about to start, Peter enters, stretch his arms, and she leaves the stage and they dance without speaking a word

Wow that's kind of a letdown. You'd think they would end it in such a big way since this my be the last film of the series (with Tobey, Kirsten, and Sam).

dissapointing ending, its the most meaningful of the trilogy, but it ends the trilogy on a low point, instead of full of energy.

I absolutely LOVE how it ends. I was thinking about it today, and I'd love to see the trilogy end as humble as it began.

Yes, we saw the dancing ending already in the trailers.

Yes, a dissappointing ending, but I understand the choice. It's an open ending, with new beginnings and new developements for the relation of Peter and MJ. Who knows what the future brings? This thought applies to the story as to a possible last movie with the original cast.

I like it too. I expected a little bit more, but it was ok. The ending is there to show you
That Peter and MJ are on the right path to work things out

Yeah, end it with a swing sequence, so we can b:tch about it forever like the CGI helicopters. Personally, I'm glad it ended it differently, with no cliffhanger. I would have also removed the opening monologue motif. Spider-Man fans are a fickle bunch, first they beg for something different, then they beg for something to stay the same.

BTW, is there a burning building in this film?

Note they use the word 'climax' - not final scene.

I wanted the ending to be the classic final swing scene. The final swing scene has become somewhat of an iconic scene for modern films...its beautiful, graceful, comic bookish while still having those real-life elements to it that make spider-man so special. For the third I think it is so important to convey that at the end of the day Peter parker is Spider-man and he loves what he does and hes good at it...thats what I got when I saw the final swing, particularily in part one. So yes, I am upset as a few fans will be...I didnt like 2s final swing as much as the first and I was hoping 3 could top both...but Im still open to the ending that was stated as long as it works well (in context of course..Ill have to see the whole film first though)

I agree..i almost didnt believe people at first when they said there would be no final swing..it doesnt really make sense that they didnt include it, but ill have to wait to see the ending in context.

i have a strong suspicion that venom WILL be back, you see the symbiot get destroyed but i suspect a little will have survived and he will somehow be. back i almost guarentee it, ps i have already seen the movie at the premier for those who work at marvel and their family. on may 2 !!

a climax is the highest point of intrest in a script. The falling action would be the final scene(s) following the climax.

No, the finale scene(s) after the climax is(are) called the resolution.

from the sound of that ending,it makes it seem like a end of a trilogy.

It has several names but the main idea is that the climax is not at the end of a story and therefore the first post doesn't make sense.

Yea i was wondering why they did not end with a swining spidey scene like the others but it was a tender moment with pete and mj trying to fix their relationship and all that. Here's hoping toby, kristen, and raimi sign up for number 4.
