We've had a thread on Coke vs. Pepsi, and with the thread about the guy carrying a meth lab in his backpack into Walmart, I think it's about time.

What are your thoughts? Why is one better than the other?

Target because it's nicer, even though it's a little more expensive than Walmart.

I work at K-Mart but buy my groceries at Wal-Mart because everything's like half the price.

when i'm in america i know the rep walmart has but i will admit to going there, the foods easy to get and i can grab some dvds cheap

but i will say target seems more of a respectful shop, thought thats nots saying much

Wal-Mart because it's the closest out of the three.

I buy most of my dvds and clothes from Target.

Yeah, K-Mart's prices on groceries are obscene! Actually, a lot of their prices are like that.

I work at Target, so I am gonna have to go with Wal Mart.

I'm currently Wal-Mart's b*tch.

It really depends on the location. Near me, the walmart and the k-mart are complete **** holes. They've tried to put some money into them and renovate them but they still look like crap. Having said that, I've been to some really nice walmarts and k-marts in other parts of the country.

I have never however in my life been to a ****** target so when in doubt, I'll take the target.

When they built a Walmart by me, the first week it looked like it was open for years inside. It just doesn't look as good as Target.

I do go to either of them depending on the item i'm looking for & of course the prices between both stores. That being said, I prefer Target solely because it's much cleaner, less crowded, & higher quality apparel.

OP: You forgot Meijer.. www.meijer.com

...Target needs a financial-services counter: where you can pay bills, purchase money orders/wire money..

..taking it back to the old school- who remembers Zayre's.. Venture..

I shop at none of those places. We only have K-Mart here anyway. There might be one Target up in Auckland though I'm not positive. I have been to Target and Walmart whilst in America. Target was a little nicer, less obnoxious, easier to navigate in perhaps. ;)

Walmart's an adventure. I never know what to expect going in.

Target is boring but it's worth checking out every so often for certain deals .

There is one Kmart in the area and it's usually empty. It feels like a forgotten department store.

It's also an almost extinct retail store as well. Kmart in regards to pricing, i've found is the most expensive of the three.

Out k-mart slowly degenerated into a large shell of what it had been, it ate money for mediocre items, it finally fell
Through last year.

I worked at Wal-Mart once so I try to avoid that option at all costs. I don't mind paying a little bit more at Target just so I can avoid the horrible flashbacks and memories associated with the Wal.

I'm gonna go with Target and wow I haven't seen a K-Mart in ages!

You must avoid the crappy sections of your town then.

I love Target. I even shopped there frequently when I worked at Target during college. The merchandise seems a bit better than Wal-Mart's or K-Mart's stuff (though I'll shop at either of those when needed), and the store layout is just more pleasant to me. More space between aisles and displays, for one thing. Our Wal-Mart stores stay crowded.

Also, in before the inevitable rants about big-box-stores.

I didn't list them because they're not a national chain. Although, they are pretty cool stores.
