I disagree the reason why there are so many spoiled brats is because the way the child care system is slanted towards their benefit.

Kids are virtually powerless in our society, in fact many would claim that's a major problem. Most kids who will threaten to call "child services" probably would not know the first person to call if such a situation were to arise. Worse still, most victims of abuse (about 80%) never actually report the abuse. Most abuse happens silently and is unreported, most abuse that is reported is swept under the rug ('Battered wife syndrome', 'Stockholm syndrome' are among the most common problems)

Basically what i'm saying is you can't discipline your children anymore without someone else butting in or calling the police on you for that.

There's a study done by NYU where three people, two actors and a third person, were placed in a room. One actor left the room and faked having a horrible heart attack, making a series of screams for help and moans so as to be audible in the next room. They found that the third person would only get up and look to see if he was alright if the actor in the room did something. Proving that people tend to mind their own business even in the face of potentially life threatening circumstances for another. There's a very specific reason women are told to scream "fire" instead of "rape", because most people will respond to fire as they feel the fire could affect them as well.

My other friend is really uneasy that his 16 year old daughter is starting to develop into a woman. My question is this, what if you had a daughter, raised her to believe no man would love her as much as her pops, and instilled a deep sense of self respect? What would the chances be that the daughter would grow up into something bad?
