was I the only one who saw the brotherhood as the good guys in this movie?

i supported the brotherhood in the movies lol

The Brotherhood rocks.Such a shame many died.:D

This is a good point. A lot of reviews have been saying 'You feel like Magneto is right' as though that's a bad thing.

First, it's a fictional story. Secondly, his anger at the idea of a cure is understandable in many ways - his response to it (terrorism) was not acceptable. The cure was only turned into a military weapon when he moved the bridge. At first, it seemed to be voluntary.

There is no problem with feeling sympathetic to his anger. Even Storm felt that way too.

People have tried to criticise the movie for not exploring the way people were reacting to the idea of the cure, and were divided by it...but it did a lot of that...

I loved how they were always right in this movie

well if u look at it though a relistic view
It was a flashback to WWII for him I mean
He was Considered a Illniss because he wasn't ayran..

so when they came with a cure.
He knew what would happen

a Communitty wouldn't work
and it's not terrorism if he believe it's for freedom of his kind

so I understand and love the brotherhood.
Magneto is the whit sci-fi Malcom X

I sided with them because I understood what Magneto was saying. Sure the cure is voluntary now but what happens when the government decides mutants should'nt have that choice.

good point!

The way I saw it, the Brotherhood were terrorists, who like many, believe they were fighting a just cause, but doing it the wrong way by killing hundreds of innocent people. This is why I have always seen the X-Men as the good guys. They fight the same fight, but they do it in a different way. Again this idea goes back to the Malcom X vs. Martin Luthor King Jr. philosophy. But, like all great villians, I did sympathize with them.

No I didn't because to put it simply he's a terrorist. Sure, I agreed with his side of the issue that mutants shouldn't be cured, but he used terror and fear to manipulate the public. Pyro blowing up the cure clinic reminded me of bombings at abortion clinics. He murdered many innocent bystanders moving the bridge to Alcatraz. His video on the news was startitingly remoniscent of Osama Bin Laden. His mentioning of "There isn't a place where humans will be safe" reminded me of a similar line from terrorists saying "There is no place the Jews will be safe." He in effect becomes the thing he hates the most, which is tragic irony. I symphathized his posistion, but not his methods.

I saw the Morlocks as good but having a twisted leader. Magneto def. showed good aspects like when he tried to save charles... sorta.

ya i did laugh when his video reminded me of osama bin laden

but i still love the brotherhood. the X-men took things to the Martin luther king way, stand by protest be calm and wait.. but like Professer said
"u know how quickly the weather can change"
the cure as a weapon is what triggered Magneto to make it into a person matter
the cure was Weaoponized
and in the eyes of him an dhis crew THAT was the first blood.
so he revolted

he's always been a good man, he's just the other side and the other shade of good..
He wants Mutant rights and wanted humans and mutants to work together he just did it in differnt ways... also.. Charles was still his friend which is why when pyro said he would kill charles I could have sworn magneto was gonna punch him lol

that's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard....your "beliefs" aren't what makes an action an act of terrorism or not....

Yes...yes you were.

everyone loves the bad guy

XStreme, again yes it does
ones man act of terrorism is anothe rmans/mutant's act of freedom

see in the movie he isn't doing an act of terror his doing an act of Relation towards a government that is agianst his kind...

That's not true at all...terrorism is terrorism....it doesn't matter what your motivation is behind it....terorrizing civilians and killing innocent people is TERRORISM...doesn't matter why you are doing it...

Well first, X-Maniac, if im not mistaken, didnt the gaurd on the 18 wheeler have a cure gun? That was far before he moved the bridge. But ive always supported Magneto and The Brotherhood. Why should people have to hide who they are, or believe they need to change to make other people happy?

Xfreak is on the ball
and the Military were terrorizing the mutants for so long. why shouldn't the brotherhood terrorize them?

Not only were The Brotherhood the good guys but the X-Men actually betrayed themselves by using the cure to beat Magneto.

I guess that was to make Xavier llook like less of a ppunk for manipulating Jeans mind when she was a child, but still...

The army had cure guns long before any threat was announced by Magneto and the army was in fact going around and forcibly rounding up mutants they deemed a threat.

So The Brotherhood were freedom fighters in every sense of the word I can imagine..the government was wrong...the X-Men were wrong.

After seeing the movie twice...the X-men's only reason for fighting the brotherhood was to save leech..another mutant life and try to bring jean to her senses!

the brotherhood were after something much more and had a great leader...i dont see how you couldnt sympathize with them! Ian Mckellen made me such a fan of his through the x films! he was great as mags!
