WATCHMEN! THE MUSIC VIDEO!-Ugh...ok...more on the MCR story we heard about earlier...

I heard a 30 second preview of it on youtube, but they took it down. I have yet to find the audio source, which is probably some website selling the vinyl/mp3.

It doesn't sound that punkish. It's more like a modern alternative song, but with a kinda punk direction. I have no clue how I can describe it, but if they wanted it more punk, their guitarist's side project LeATHERMOUTH could've helped out with that.

in general regards to a dylan song over the closing credits, desolation row is entirely appropriate. but i also realized today how awesome "it's alright ma (i'm only bleeding)" would be.

****in' A! That would be a really good selection.

I'd much prefer Dylan's bitter, critical poem to be played over the credits than some screaming emo raping one of Dylan's top-3 songs. It's quitely menacing in a way and tonally just absolutely spot-on.

But Dylan's original song is in the opening credits.

Dylan raped his own song. Don't see how a cover of it is such a big deal. :)

I like what little I've heard of MCR's version.

Yeah, actually, I do too. Although if they are supposed to be Pale Horse, i would expect a sound a little less polished than this, but, meh--we'll live.

I've always been a fan of MCR, but I wasn't to fond of the Black Parade. From what I've heard, I really think this song will be great, and it kinda sounds like their older stuff, so I'm happy.

So I was listening to Dylan's version and while I like it, I think MCR's version'll work better if you're using Desolation Row at the end credits of a movie such as this.

I really really wish the vinyl had Bob Dylan's Desolation Road on one side, MCR's on the other.

Well for the time being, wouldn't you want to hear part of the score? There's always a possibility of a Dylan/MCR vinyl, but right now I'm personally happy to hear some of the score.

kewl, sounds kinda upbeat for Watchmen, actually...haha, not in a bad way, like, maybe you're happy being desolated....
:facepalm

George Lucas raped my childhood.
I enjoyed it...

i cant help but wonder how many MCR fans actually own record players.

im not saying there aren't worse musicians. there certainly are. im just saying, as someone who has an immense appreciation and respect for music, and who has witnessed MCR up close and personal, they're not good musicians. gerard's voice is horrible live. their drummer has no chops. the guitarist was entirely uninspiring. and it's not even like "oh, maybe they had a bad night"...because after the show, they were all pretty stoked about their performance.

I had to see them twice when i went to see Muse open for them, and they weren't that bad live.
