WATCHMEN! THE MUSIC VIDEO!-Ugh...ok...more on the MCR story we heard about earlier...

It's an OK vid, I guess, it seems, I don't really care, that song annoys me anyway.
Especially the Dylan one, he's kinda overrated(no offense to the Dylan fans), I guess it's just not my kinda tune.
I mean it's just some whiny guy repeating a bunch of unintelligible depressing stuff for 10 minutes....

Guess I'm not deep enough to get Dylan.

That's because it wasn't, you know, Dylan, but this marketing emo instead.

The song is nice, indeed, but it's beyond those precious emo to make a cover of it.

They should know their place in the scale of invention.

oh give me a break..just because most of their songs seem "Emo" doesn't make them "Emo"
and they didn't go to Zach, Zach went to them, and show a little respect, at least they are Watchmen fans too.
sheesh.
i can' stand when some fanboys(and/or girls) or so friggin quick to judge every little thing and start ranting and raving on forums over little stuff.

I know, it can be quite frustrating. :oldrazz:

The boys are just bad. Posers. And, please, let's be honest: they're emo.

What was Zach thinking? Gee.

Ok....here it is, from Watchmencomicmovie.com.

Watchmen Shoot In L.A.

A mob scene was filmed in downtown Los Angeles this week, but it’s not what you might think

There’s been a rumor going around that Watchmen had filmed a scene on the 19th at the intersection of Broadway and West 8th Street in Los Angeles.

According to eyewitnesses the scene was quite elaborate and included more than 250 angry extras rushing out of a building and into the street before someone was chased by police dogs and arrested. Some exterior dialog was also shot.

So what’s the story? Well, our sources at Warner Bros. confirmed that, yes, the filming is in fact for Watchmen, but it's not for re-shoots for the film, or for any DVD extras.

It turns out that the shoot was for the music video of My Chemical Romance’s version of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” — the song being used for the Watchmen film’s closing credits.

That’s not all. It also seems the the music video’s director is none other than Watchmen movie helmer Zack Snyder.

The building that sits at that L.A. intersection is 802 South Broadway, which has been used as a location for several movies including The Prestige, Mulholland Drive and Mambo Kings.

Reactions?

There are only two possibilities of making a decent cover of this song: either the band has read decently (as Dylan did) Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot, or they're The Stooges.

A bunch of posers can't. Emo tryin' to sound and look punk, to have attitude and whatnot? It's just unreasonable. Way too fake.

Before you go and rant at people, please do your research first. :yay:
MCR started out as a punk rock band in their first album. After that, their sound progressed with each album to a mainstream-ish rock band, and then, more recentley, making an album of classic rock-esque/rock opera songs.

So please, do tell me the definition of "emo" and what they're posing as, since you do seem to be the expert on these things.

My Chemical Romance, punk?

:woot::woot::woot::woot:

The two names can't even get together in the same sentence without the careful distance of a comma. :oldrazz:

No. Sorry. No punk for them. And you need to face that sometime.

They're dolls out of a fashion show posing as, let's say, "tough" (how they wish they were).

I'm really amazed they could convince some people of it here with a bit of gimmicks, makeup and art direction.

It sounds "awsome" to you? "Punk"? Ahem.

Get some Stooges and Sex Pistols. It ain't do no harm to ya. :cwink:

Punk is too much for you, isn't it, Cheesy? :oldrazz:

But that's fine. That's nothing wrong with emo kids. It's just a tad of a stretch getting it to Watchmen.

I never got that definition of the word "emo". I can't seem to find it in my dictionary, so please elaborate.

okay, that video sucked. really. i know snyder directed that, but seriously, the idea of the whole video is nothing different than was a 14 year old would have come up with.

I just thought of an intresting question for everyone. With Snyder directing the music video, what did you expect it to be like?

I know for me, I kinda couldn't think of anything other than a punk concert. Maybe a fight too, because I saw a pic of Gerard with the black eye before, but that was pretty much it.

Not bad.

Not really catchy or memorable.

But I don't see how this will fit into the ending. This is too rowdy sounding to be included with that ending.

That's make up. Black eye in these cases, fortunately, is just make up.

Nobody would want sorry Gerard hurt. :woot:

Maybe in jail for playing his bad music or making disastrous covers out of other's genius, but not hurt.

PS: definition for emo? And hoping to find it in dictionaries?

Why would a group of very learned lexicographers waste their time with a passing fad? :oldrazz:

Or why would I? I know when I see a squealer ... and those ... :hoboj:
