uh.. so?

The difference here is in the character's personalities you said, right?

Bats has a problem with killing...but he'll do it.

Spidey wouldn't. Ever. (Well these days you wouldn't know but hey...)

But anyhootz. o_O Nothing serious in this thread kiddos.

you just gotta laugh at how some people make things out to be on here...

arghy*

Actually, Batman won't kill either. Never ever never. His first few years of existence were stricken from his continuity years ago. In fact, the Batman that killed people is actually a totally different guy than the one that's in comics now. Think Ben Reilly, but really, really different.

psh I dont believe in all that infinite crisis bs.

Batman was Batman. Wayne was who he was. Simple.

bruce timm did spider-man. before john semper was brought in because timm just sucked. he had the "brilliant" idea to make norman osborn the hobgoblin thats why semepr had to bring him so early in the show. and if you would have seen his sketches of the show, you would agree when i say timm on spider-man woudl suck...

but on batman he rocks...

Really? Is there any more info/sketches/etc. available on Bruce Timm's involvement in the Spider-man cartoon? I'm really curious to see what he had in mind, and this is the first I've ever heard of his involvement in it. There were so many bad things about that show besides the Hobgoblin's early appearance... like atleast Batman got to throw punches in his cartoon! Ah... another reason why he's cooler! :cwink:

I can actually relate to both. I've played both in school plays too. :)

To me...

Spider-Man is a wise-cracking underdog who can piss-off any villain within the wink of an eye. The fight sequences are much more spectacular, and the overall effects, web-spinning, web-crawling, and gravity-defying agility are just cool. Peter hooks up with Gwen Stacy, Betty Brant, Mary Jane Watson, and Felicia Hardy. So, he's no stranger to the land of love. Plus, the guy's a genius, and more people should be able to relate to him because of his humble upbringing, and the fact that he can't buy everything he needs to be a superhero. The fact that Bruce is intelligent, is only part of it -- most of his superhero-ing prowess comes from buying expensive and often extensive gadgets from far-away places, and making sure no one can trace it back to him. Spider-Man is much more visually exciting, whether battling, or just swinging through the city. Added to that, he is a minor-friendly superhero, unlike ol' Bats.

Now, Bruce Wayne is every man's dream. Rich. Handsome. Well-bred. Intelligent. A playboy. He is undoubtedly badass. No doubt about his appearance being cooler than Spidey's (although, the symbiote does make Spidey look pretty cool). The gadgets are nice. Batman has a very dark-side to him, which makes him very dangerous, and sometimes downright scary. The guy mentors others to become superheroes. That takes skill and patience. And I've always been a fan of his investigative prowess. The man's a detective -- and I love that! He's a little too dark at times for minors, and that may prompt parents to tell their kids to stay away from Batman comics.

On a side-note -- Nicholas Hammond (TV's Spider-Man) was a much better superhero, than Adam West (TV's Batman) -- although I love both shows to death!

There, I've said it. My opinion posted. :)

I've never heard of Bruce Timm's involvement with Spider-Man: TAS. Are you thinking of Martin Pasko? HE worked with Timm on Batman, but couldn't get along with the the Spider-Man producers, so they hired John Semper.

I know Timm has done some sketches of Spider-Man...a collage was used on the back of one of the Essential Volumes ( #4, iirc) and you can see samples on his site.

I thought they were pretty hot, too. His Morbius particularly stood out, imo.

I think he/she is thinking of Martin Pasko. I can't imagine Timm handling Spidey the way he was in that '90s cartoon considering his amazing work on the DC Universe cartoons. I would really love to see Spidey done in that style.

Yes, well you're painfully wrong.
I'm not wrong lol. Batman was The Batman. It was changed later on =/

I mean....I know what you're saying. But the fact remains, he has killed in the comics before.

Might have been changed, but before it was, it happend. Can't be denied.

Even WIZARD acknowledges this. And I love those bastards lol

Looking through his gallery...I'm not too ashamed to say...

BT's Spider-Man kicks ass.

and I'm surprised at how much. Take a look.

Reminds me an old style Romita Parker....I like it.

The ONLY other superhero that batman can't beat is wolverine (duh)
he could dominate spiderman easily

THIS is where I need to be. All my life, Spider-Man and Batman have BOTH been my two favorite superhearoes. But I could NEVER decide who was cooler.

It's time to decide.
Batman has attempted to kill. He tried to kill the Joker in Hush, but Gordon stopped him. However, Spider-Man has never been forced to kill. And, if you think about it, he killed that vampire-like dude in "Evolve or Die".

This isn't a versus thread, so who can kick the other's can is sort of moot.

Quesada-Man does not factor into this.

How about Spider-man is better than Batman because Spider-man is actually a superhero. Batman is just a rich guy with a superiority complex.

Oh, absolutely. When it was announced that this would be the last year of the Justice League toon, and Marvel was planning a new Spider-Man show, i was PRAYING that they'd snatch Timm up, lol.

No flys on DC though; they decided to keep Timm and put him in charge of their direct to DVD stuff.

But you said Batman "is willing to kill". That's what you said, and that's what I was contesting. As you said, yes he killed at one time, but it was changed. And has remained changed for some 50 years. He's no more likely to kill now than Spider-Man. That's all I'm saying.

Batman's come close to killing several times. But then, so has Spider-Man. One example would be in ASM v2 #48 (Or was it 47? I think it was 48.), Spider-Man nearly kills that Shathra creature chick.

Spidey's cooler-- he punched Wolverine's girlfriend in the face and killed her!:oldrazz:

ok....ok....let's forget all this spidey vs. wolverine vs. batman vs. whomever and get back to the real purpose of this thread, being........

If Spider-man fought She-Ra, would Groo still win???
