Wayward Pines

M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN’S 10-EPISODE PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER “WAYWARD PINES,” RETURNS WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, ON FOX

Jason Patric (“Rush,” “Narc”), Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) and Hope Davis (“American Crime,” “The Newsroom”) Set to Star

WAYWARD PINES, last summer’s No. 1 scripted series on broadcast television, returns for a second season Wednesday, May 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. From executive producer M. Night Shyamalan (“The Sixth Sense,” “The Visit”), the 10-episode, psychological thriller is based on the rich world created by author Blake Crouch in his international best-selling series of books.

Starring Jason Patric (“Rush,” “Narc”), two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Hope Davis (“American Crime,” “The Newsroom”), the 10-episode, second season will pick up after the shocking events of Season One, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. THEO YEDLIN (Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

Also joining the second season are cast members Tom Stevens (“Cedar Cove”), returning from Season One as JASON HIGGINS, a member of the First Generation and Pilcher’s young acolyte; Nimrat Kaur (“Homeland”) as REBECCA, who has her own secrets she keeps from Theo, her husband; Josh Helman (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as XANDER, a resident working to undermine Wayward Pines from within; and Kacey Rohl (“Hannibal”) as KERRY, one of Jason’s lieutenants in the civil war going on in Wayward Pines.

Additionally, several Season One cast members will appear in Season Two, including Terrence Howard (SHERIFF ARNOLD POPE), Carla Gugino (KATE HEWSON), Toby Jones (DR. JENKINS/DAVID PILCHER), Melissa Leo (NURSE PAM), Tim Griffin (ADAM HASSLER), Shannyn Sossamon (THERESA BURKE) and Charlie Tahan (BEN BURKE).

Season One of WAYWARD PINES ranked as Summer 2015’s No. 1 broadcast scripted series among Adults 18-49. The series – about a Secret Service agent on a mission to find two missing federal agents in a sleepy Northwest town, and the shocking results of his investigation – ranked among Summer 2015’s Top 10 broadcast programs overall among Adults 18-49. The series earned a multi-platform average audience of 9.4 million, which represents a +145% increase versus its Live+Same Day audience – the largest multi-platform lift versus Live+Same Day ever for a FOX drama.

WAYWARD PINES is a production of 20th Century Fox Television. The series is executive-produced by Donald De Line (“Green Lantern,” “The Italian Job”), Ashwin Rajan (“Devil,” “The Visit”), Blake Crouch and M. Night Shyamalan. Mark Friedman (“Believe,” “The Forgotten”) also serves as executive producer and showrunner. “Like” WAYWARD PINES on Facebook at facebook.com/WaywardPines. I just binged this show last night and finished it this morning. WTF was that ending! Why did I decide to watch it with S2 still soooo far away!

well actually, Pines was supposed to be a limited series with that ending, but FOX got the numbers for it, so they backpedaled and made it a full-blown series, but evidently with a new cast......

As long as I can get answers. They better do a good job of filling in the blanks between whatshisname taking over and all the adults being put back into hibernation.

Season 2 starts in 3 weeks. It's not that far away.

That's great news I've been wondering how they'd do it again in season 2.

Is nobody else watching Season 2? I'm almost caught back up to real time, but I'm really loving this season.

I am. I'm not liking it as much as the first but it's still pretty good. :)

HOLY ****!... that was a ****load of Abbies at the end of last night's episode... I'd hate to be a resident of the Pines NOW... especially the ones who will get left behind, while the others make their way into another suspended animation......

I didn't realize we were that close to the end. Finale next week. :(

I'm done watching season 2 and liked it. The new story was interesting, we got more details on the Abbies, the building of the town and technical stuff ( the cryo pods ).
There are some nice revelations and twists.

It was a decent finale. I just hope the show is renewed so we can see what the next generation of Abbie development is like. :)

next season: the intelligent, speaking Abbies... and I wonder how far in the future the Pines residents will be waking up to?...

Wayward Pines Not Returning for Season 3

Fox appears to be putting Wayward Pines in its rearview mirror. Finally.

The supernatural drama will not return for a third season, TVLine has learned. A Fox rep declined to comment, but a network insider acknowledged to TVLine that the series is “unlikely” to be back.

I liked the first season, but the second season was meh! Doesn't really bother me!
