It makes sense to me. You are complaining about bullying. No one is a worse bully then Snape, except maybe Umbridge. The other 4 were bad kids, but 3 of them learned from their mistakes and grew up to be good men. Lily didn't marry a bad person. Snape on the otherhand was a pretty much a lifetime bully, with no redeeming qualities. That makes no sense.
Yes. You have no idea. I'm not surprised by any of this. I knew I was going to get push back but I don't care. James is human garbage and being Harry's dad isn't going to change that. Not a Potterhead by any means, so I have to ask, is Snape more or less the lighting rod of controversy du jure for the fandom?
Too be fair, Lupin didn't need to spend 12 years in hell.I think Snape is compelling and sympathetic to a certain point. He was a petty guy though. I wish Sirus would have at least attempted to let things go the way Lupin did, but he was petty too.

So you leave no room for redemption, especially that of which is clearly demonstrated? You act like he went around murdering and torturing people, you know, like Snape.Yes. You have no idea. It doesn't matter if James "outgrew" or not. It doesn't change the damaged he and his pal did. People commit suicide as the result of bullying. Snape was already dealing with horrible family life and he had to deal with that **** in school. Dombledore didn't do much to help because he had his favorite and shady as f&** character.
We'll never going to agree on this.
James was a bad kid, no doubt, and there's no defending his behaviour. However, I'd say a fully grown man perpetrating the same behaviour on an 11 year old is a worse situation, particular considering the power that grown man holds over the child.

Snape vs the bullying gang and Snape vs Harry are two completely DIFFERENT situations. It makes sense to me. You are complaining about bullying. No one is a worse bully then Snape, except maybe Umbridge. The other 4 were bad kids, but 3 of them learned from their mistakes and grew up to be good men. Lily didn't marry a bad person. Having bad decision making skills is literally a biological part of being a kid. You have no such excuse as an adult.James was a bad kid, no doubt, and there's no defending his behaviour. However, I'd say a fully grown man perpetrating the same behaviour on an 11 year old is a worse situation, particularly considering the power that grown man holds over the child.
You do realize kid bullies aren't doing it on purpose for the most part? There are a lot of factors, the majority of which are out of their control, that factor in right? Being a crappy kid is bad, but redeemable. You seem to think that what a kid does in grade school should haunt them for life, which is more then a bit ridiculous.Snape vs the bullying gang and Snape vs Harry are two completely DIFFERENT situations.
Defenders of James and Sirius can't help but bring Snape's actions towards Harry years down the line to defend their actions which they know to be indefensible. That says everything really.
And Dumbledore just sat back and let it happen.![]()
Really? I can be rational just fine. Maybe some of you were bullies because I don't see the need to jump on me because I made off hand comment about Snape vs James. We will never agree because you are projecting your own experiences in your childhood onto this.
Im sorry you were bullied. I really am, but you are entirely too biased about this whole thing to have any sort of rational open minded discussion.
And Dumbledore just sat back and let it happen.![]()
Dumbledore is another horrible person who gets a lot of slack. The guy who keeps giant, dangerous three headed dogs on campus? I'm shocked he's not better at child safety.
Snape vs the bullying gang and Snape vs Harry are two completely DIFFERENT situations.
I can't help your kids will be kids mentality. Tell that to the people who lose their life from their little harmless actions. You do realize kid bullies aren't doing it on purpose for the most part? Yes, accusing everyone in here of being bullies is very rational.Really? I can be rational just fine. Maybe some of you were bullies because I don't see the need to jump on me because I made off hand comment about Snape vs James.

I never said James should be bullied in return. I just said I'm glad he is dead which is okay opinion to have against fictional character you don't like. Sirius didn't seem he grew out of it and I have no unbias view that James did too if he were alive. I don't trust Dumbledore. He is shady he used and manipulated situations. You said that James deserved to be killed because he bullied Snape while they were in school. That's an unfair and unreasonable comment. No one's saying that Snape deserved to be bullied or that it was a good thing that the Marauders were never (to our knowledge) severely punished for the way they treated him. What we're saying is that you can't ignore the people James and Snape became in a conversation about whether or not one of them deserved to be murdered.

It doesn't feel good to be accused of things does it. I don't like to be called irrational.Yes, accusing everyone in here of being bullies is very rational.
I was bullied, and went through a great amount of depression over it. But that doesn't change the story we are talking about here.
No one said kids will be kids. Also, no mental health official worth their salt would ever blame a "bully" for anyone committing suicide.I can't help your kids will be kids mentality. Tell that to the people who lose their life from their little harmless actions.
They were teenagers and know right from wrong.
