Why would the immortal, or near immortal Queen of the Amazons look so very much older than her daughter? Just saying some of these actresses that are being put forward are over well over 40.

Cool thread. My top choices for Queen Hippolyta: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly. Zeta Jones would be a great choice though overall. Not a fan of Angelina Jolie in the role for some reason.

I again ask why the supposedly "ageless" queen of the Amazons looks SO much older than her daughter? Yes, Gal is 28, but she could pass for much younger. If the Amazons are "ageless" why would she look like any of the actresses listed here that are mid forties? I mean... Kim Basinger? Really?

Much like how Jor Els is kinda of a "superman" or hero in his own right, in my own view the father is just a more mature version of Kal. I feel the same with Hippolyta. She should be just a more mature version of her daughter Diana. Even if they don't age, keeping the mother mature looking is important IMO

I totally agree with your point. But I still would not cast an actress that does look SO much more mature than Gal. I'd have to look at someone at most, maybe 41-42. Some of the actresses listed fit that, but others not so much. And forgive my opinion but some are just way off choices. Cate B.? For Elizabeth I, sure. For the WARRIOR Queen of the Amazons? No, I just don't see it.

Hmm... I could accept that actually. That could be a way to add tension and drama to their relationship. It's the secret they've kept from Diana her whole life. Perhaps it adds to her mission to the outside world? While out there she thinks she can find some lost macguffin to change her mother's fate.

I still think that a younger group of actresses should be considered. I mean, some would have been great choices but, like ten or more years ago. That just me though.
