Cate Blanchett.

I'm sure she likes money and she has a WB connection because of LOTR so maybe the possibility isn't totally far fetched.

I know which I don't want for the role. These are Jolie (and I can't emphasize enough how much I don't want her anywhere near these films), Cruz, Hayek and Bullock. I'm also not crazy about Headey in a role of a queen for the 100th time, but wouldn't bi*** too much if that were to happen.

I'm fine with the others, some choices I like more (Blanchett, Bellucci, Weisz and Moore) and some less, but these are fine. And I still believe that Claire Forlani would be a perfect choice to play mother to Gadot's Diana.

If a blonde (that's what I think they are going) Kate Winslet..

If a brunette CzJ, Monica Bellucci.

If they're going with the Zeus origin, neither of Diana's parents need to look like her. Look at how different all of Zeus' offspring are.

Anyway, I prefer the blonde Hippolyta and 5'10" Charlize Theron gets my vote.

That is interesting (and correct) observation.

Though I'd still prefer brunette Hippolyta, as I find Diana looking like her mother to be fitting with the whole feminist and female empowerment ideology that was behind the initial creation of the Wonder Woman mythos.

Good call.

Dammit Rodrigo, you put Cruz and Bullock for whatever reason and forgot to add Kate Winslet.

I'm very disappointed in you. :o

I don't really see the connection of shared hair color and female empowerment.

Going by DCnU

Kate Winslet as Hippolyta

I think they'll surround Gadot with bigger names and this would work well IMO. She has the name, looks, and talent. I could easily buy her as Queen.

I just posted Kate Winslet as my choice in the other thread. She's my top pick for the role.

Blonde Hippolyta was popularized in Silver Age WW, the Lynda Carter TV show, JLU, Injustice, and New 52.

As opposed to looking like her father.

Obviously.

Except she doesn't look like Zeus either. He had white hair or brown dreadlocks.

Lens Headey?

Forgive me, folks...I'm waiting to get new reading glasses :p

Which is why I found your observation about Zeus and his children to be interesting and correct one. Though the fact that Zeus genes work differently and don't make his children inherit his looks changes the game completely. Diana not looking like any of her parents would just emphasize the fact that Zeus is her father and I like Diana and Hippolyta obviously looking like mother and daughter as it's clear visual representation of the fact that their society is all-female.

At least, that's the way I see it.

What about Linda Carter? That could be cool if she would want to do it. Plus it would be kind of symbolic to have her hand over the lasso to Gal in the big screen movie.

That would kind of take me out of it. Because when you would look at her, all you would think is "Wonder Woman" rather than Hippoylta.

It's not as bad as the guy who played the old Flash in the new show as Gustin's dad, but Lynda is more well known and recognised as WW.
