We Could Have Made DarkSentinel Wrestling Thread Champion If We Wanted! - Part 203

I never thought I was gonna hear a "Joe's Gonna Kill You Chant" in a WWE related event.

Samoa Joe shows up on NXT on the same day we get reports Destination America is planning to cancel TNA Impact.

I wonder how soon we are gonna get the Death of TNA book after the promotion closes?

There is no doubt that Samoa Joe will be given a new name. He'll just look like Samoa Joe.

One of the great things about NXT is that although they change the names of Indy guys (with the exception of the unmasking of Remi Sabei from El Generico to Sami Zayn, which actually serves to benefit Zayn and actually makes him more marketable) they still have the same look. Finn Balor is still allowed on the NXT specials to wear the body paint he became known for when he was Prince Devitt. Owens still looks like Kevin Steen. Hideo Itami still looks like Kenta. If you go a bit further, Daniel Bryan is essentially a bearded version of Bryan Danielson. Cesaro looks strikingly similar to Claudio Castagnoli and Tyler Black is somewhere inside Seth Rollins.

It's interesting that most of the people I watched when I was a die hard ROH fan is now in WWE....Bryan, Owens, Zayn, Itami, Cesaro, Rollins, Joe and this doesn't include Sara Del Rey, who just got a big promotion, Jimmy Jacobs who signed as a member of the creative team and they just hired Adam Pearce to be a trainer for NXT.

Samoa Joe was one of those guys who I always felt the WWE wouldn't be interested in, not that he wasn't good, but he just didn't "fit in" with what the WWE generally looks for in a worker.

With WWE clearly invested now in Joe to some extent at least, does anyone here think AJ Styles could ever get an offer from New York?

AJ Styles got one when he left TNA. It wasn't enough money for him to join NXT. New Japan offered him more money than what the WWE was going to offer him.

Well, that sucks for TNA. Still won't watch, especially with it going on the same night as NXT and LU.

So how long before we hear this back in the WWE:

Styles said he was fine being in the indies and Japan. And he is making good money as a indy wrestler with a good work schedule. Why go to the WWE and take a big risk.

I have no issues with Styles remaining in Japan & the indies if that is what makes him happy. But, if there's a part of him that wants to give it a shot, to see how he'd do on the big stage, then I'm not sure I see the risk. If WWE decides that they could use a talented worker and good locker room guy, and they up their offer from whatever it was (assuming they really did make one previously), then where's the potential harm? Even if AJ doesn't ultimately like how Vince & co. use him, he can always ask for his release and return to Japan and the indies. But, if it worked out, imagine the potential opponents: Rollins, Ambrose, Brock, perhaps Bryan, Jericho, Cesaro, Kidd, Owens, Balor, Itami, Zayn, Joe, Uhaa, the list goes on!

The (Small) Rise and Fall of TNA coming soon to VHS.

On a serious note, I hate seeing wrestlers out of work.

Well in that case it could be a CM Punk situation.
Joe's too well established thanks to TNA to change his name at this stage. Most others they can change due to coming directly from the indies and having little to no national coverage. But TNA, as much as some would like to ignore, were in the national spotlight and Joe is a recognized face.

It's a good sign though, most people haven't had the ability to work under their ring name since Punk. Feels good to see that.

No big surprise here.

http://www.pwpix.net/stephanie-mcmahon-and-triple-h-reportedly-working-on-changing-how-women-in-wwe-are-featured/

– Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are said to be big proponents of changing the way women in WWE are featured. Apparently this is very much based on Stephanie’s influence and the success UFC has had with Ronda Rousey.

It’s said that the two aren’t UFC fans but are fans of Rousey and her recent Sports Illustrated cover was another sign to them that times have changed and it’s a different era. At the same time, it was said to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon still sees women in the role that they’re currently in on WWE’s main roster.

The WWE has such a ridiculous amount of depth on the women's side of the roster it's unreal.

I said it a long time ago but if they combined the gals from the main roster with the gals from the NXT side then put together an hour long weekly show on the network a la what GLOW was back in the day, they could absolutely pull it off.

Vince needs to go.... One way or another.

I'm wondering where Vince has been lately TBH. I think his role has finally been diminished since WM31 but it's been done quietly. It's kinda similar to how George Steinbrenner disappeared towards the end of his run.

I was reading something earlier about how both Balor and Neville only met Vince face to face recently. In the case of Neville, he had been working with the main roster for a while and only met Vince sometime after his Raw debut. Seeing as how Neville has been more or less shot out of a cannon push wise, that tells me that Triple H may finally be calling the shots.

Agree completely. The network needs to have a show like that.

I would dig a women centric WWE wrestling show. I think they should start by fading out the "Divas" label. "Superstars" could be women too. Also get rid of that silly butterfly belt and get a nice looking admirable strap. Something a champion would wear not a Bratz doll.

At the start of Raw, I was caught off guard by the belt unveiling and since it was a celebration of Seth Rollins's win, I thought they were about to reveal a new WWE championship.

I honestly think Vince will ever go. Even when he dies his spirit will most likely be placed into a younger body.

I thinking of rewatcing NXT, since I don't know why I stopped watching it.

Isn't WWE's spring cleaning upon us yet?

I wonder who will be released this year.
