'We Own This City' David Simon (The Wire) returning to Baltimore for limited Series (HBO)

I'm enjoying this show so far through the first two episodes. The detectives piecing together what the task force is up to is favorite storyline, though I don't think Tray Chaney (Poot from the Wire) is a strong actor here. Bernthal's voice is getting praise I've seen but to me it sounds a bit all over the place.

And apparently the kid who played Donut is in this series at some point, too.

The actor who played Duquan will appear too as a police officer at some point.

I need to make some time to check this out. I feel like I'm drowning in shows this week between this, Better Call Saul, Barry, Winning Time, Moon Knight, and Halo.

Yeah, man, just totally overwhelmed with good TV options at the moment.

Have to make some time for this one, though, as The Wire is my favorite series ever.

Good seeing both Dukie and Donut this past episode. They all grown up man even though they only a few years younger than me lol.

My The Wire headcanon is that Dukie spent a few years as an addict but eventually started informing to the police, like Bubbles did, cleaned up his act and eventually became an officer. Great to see Donut yesterday, too.

Same with Herc. That man always seem to fail upwards!

“He gave me the drugs I sold” lol he gave up everything so calmly and easy.

I still maintain that Bernthal was the MVP of this show playing such a wild asf, despicable, pos character, but the performances across the board were all pretty strong.

I definitely didn't see Jamie Hector's character having such a tragic end, but it did fit the bleak/hopeless tone of the rest of the show which I did love overall, and I honestly wish it was a returning series instead of a limited one because I feel like these writers still have plenty of stories left to tell in this world.

It's a more than worthy successor to The Wire too and works as a great companion piece.

There is no way in hell that Sebastian Stan in Pam and Tommy should be nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series over Bernthal in this. But besides that, I'm not surprised it got snubbed for everything else. There's been way too much happening in terms of quality shows, it didn't stand a chance.

When is Simon gonna work on that Spanish Civil War/International Brigades series he was reported on doing a few years back?
