Anyway, thanks Clyde. I will keep doing them then, and I will finish writing the end of the First chapter and begin writing the second chapter tonight.

Anyways, people have been making a big deal out of where the heck to put the fluid and I get that. But why not, instead I making the cartridges thicker, make them LONGER? You see Peter's, and he has all of these bourbon style cartridges, whic are thin, and very long. Why can't we do that?
 
Also, I have another idea of using a hair spray to make it alot more durable, while still having some flex. Am I right or wrong?
 
One of my first designs was similar to that it was flexible tubing that wrapped around your wrist.

See the only difficulty I see with those kind of designs is the building aspect of it and being able to change the cartridge easily since its wrapped around. But it depends on the design. I see how it could be designed to easily switch the cartridge but you also have to factor the volume of the cartridge otherwise your fluid could run out in one shot or maybe less. Also expanding the volume, may have it be too clunky for practicality depending on what the user may want to use it for.

so all in all the main difficulties I find for any cartridge, is physical volume and its feasibility to build.
 
If you guys want to calculate your volume and how much fluid you will be able to shoot, here is what you do:

1. calculate the volume the volume of your cartridge.
2. calculate the area of the hole of the nozzle that the fluid is exiting.
3. divide the volume of the cartridge by the area of your nozzle
4. The value you obtain is the longest length of a rope you will have.
5. If you think every shot will be 10 meters long then divide your max length by 10
6. The value you obtain will be the number of shots you have if every shot is 10 meters long

This is excluding expansion of the fluid on exist and compression of fluid in the cartridge but it will give you an accurate estimate.

there is only one way i know to use the web fluid like spiderman but not like in the comics or movies just have your arms close to your chest at all times when your swinging

Seriously, I've tried swinging from ropes, nothing happens!
And we can always use some sort of metal body frame attached to some metal gloves!
But they won't rip of just because we swing!

Ya I second that. I can do pull-ups with 90 pounds hanging from me. Just do a lot of pull ups and shoulder exercises and you should be fine. Remember injury comes from acceleration, not speed. So it depends on how fast you accelerate. for example if you lift a heavy weight slowly vs lifting it in a jerking motion, you may strain that muscle.

Question: what two year mission has white_widow gone on?

I'm talking about if someone were to swing like Spider-Man does... dropping from 90 feet and then shooting something and grabbing on? That could rip them off.
Yeah, a body frame would work. But dropping from a high point and then shooting a web? Like in the new movie... he falls from 100 feet and then shoots a web... that would destroy you.

Other reasons we can't swing: no formula could hold us, we couldn't hold on, and we may get caught by the police.

But, let's get off this subject and get back to the task at hand.

lol once again, I second that. Let's first build the thing. So methods of propulsion we have right now are:

1) pressurized cartridge (cant shoot upwards very well)

2) fluid cartridge with co2 tank behind it (you'll be shooting out co2 mixed with fluid when shooting up, and you gotta replace co2 tank)

3) cylindrical cartridge with two chambers separated by a piston so fluid and co2 don't mix (fluid volume may be an issue and replacing cartridges may require more effort)

4) pressurized vessel in a napsack style tank (would require tubes coming from back and also the fact that you gotta carry the weight on your back)

5) turbine propulsion (requires batteries, joule theifs, or solar panels to power it. Also will require a lot more effort to build and get parts. Requires a micromotor as well and depending on the flow rate, may only be able to shoot in 10m to 20m intervals)

6) Any other sugestions? Did I miss anything?
 
By the way Wadaltmon, I'm getting my friends to help me build my shooter. One of them is going to build the double tap switch. I was just curious, when will you post up the schematic or "how to" for the double tap in you youtube video? Thanks.
