I'm sensing some hostility. Whys that?

Well, as he stated when he asked his question, he was a bit afraid of being made fun of for his question. The manner of your answer, which consisted of a short statement and a link to a youtube video, if taken with the incorrect connotations, could be seen as insulting. Therefore, he responded thinking you had insulted him after he had asked not to be. I believe that is why you sense some hostility.

Oh dear. My bad. I hoped that it would come across as, scientists are working on it. They've already made spidroin web fluid, but they were having a hard time spinning it. I could see how that would come across as negative. Thanks elixiah. Sorry buttonspamfordays.

Has anyone tried to upload to realwebtech lately? I put in pictures, and they upload, but then they don't show up.
Also, widow, have you seen the videos I made while you were gone? If you were interested in seeing my progress or anything, I don't know if you are

I have! They were spectacular, amazing, and ultimate. The shooter is up to 20 feet huh? That is so legit. Way to be.

Some good adjectives there :woot: I'm building the next one though right now... I need to get some more materials for it after I move to Arizona though

I feel you. I bought a 12 v heating element and a micro submersible pump, and I have to wait for like 2 months for it.

I'll hopefully get some sort of access to a lab or something at ASU. And if nothing else, the solvent will evaporate faster in the ambient 100 degree weather.

So, I've been thinking about you all and the web shooter. Now I want to help you make a we shooter. I've determined that price wise pumps would be better. Here is a pump for you that is cheap, reusable, and make pressure vessels less of an issue. There is one other factor to consider as well. Tubing that can withstand the heat of the heating element is silicone and on amazon, it doesn't come in a cheap, pressure resistant form.

Now with those advantages, I do have to mention that batteries are going to be an issue. The heating element will be a huge drain on the battery. I can post my idea for a list of materials to make a basic shooter that WILL fire water, so that you can move on to fluid extrusion. Just a thought.

I bought a bottle of bug spray about a month ago, it has an electric pump on it and works off of 3v.

*sniffle* i was using water pumps before it was cool *sniffle sniffle*

i wrote out a detailed explanation on how to make a water pump shooter that i was going to post on rwt, but i never finished it. if i can fish it out ill share it with you all.

also, the other day i saw a commercial for some liquid rubber stuff that interested me. might look into it

So, we have 3 main questions, that if we solve will give us a functional shooter.

1.) what formula do we use?
2.) how do we fire it?
3.) how do we make it solid?

Do we want to split up the work? Wadaltmon and elixiah are obviously working/ almost done with number 2. I'm going to work on 1. Who wants to work on the spinneret?
