I m trying to find a solute that has a high tensile strength that also has a easily available solvent to add into the formula. Do you think it ll work?

Do i SERIOUSLY have to talk about this again?! There is no possibility of swinging. If you do want to swing, feel free to keep building the shooter on here, but dont mention swinging at all. I have a big long talk about swinging that i told someone else before, and i will copy and paste it here if i get mad enough.

Dammit, it almost makes me want to put an age limit on this project sometimes, but then again, not everyone this age has this problem. Btw, about the solute solvent thing, that's basically been the plan from the start. were just trying to find something cheap and easy to acquire that works for us. and something like that to support 50kg? maybe if you had proper facilities, but i don't think that you do.

No, i do not intend on web swinging. Even a rope that can support a 50kg weight may snap due to rapid acceleration/decelleration when swinging. Trust me, i m not that crazy

No worries man, i understand, i literally read through the entire thread.
Now, for the matterial that can improve tensile strength, i heard turpentine is a solvent for rubber. But when i mixing rubber bands with turpentine, nothing happened.

i found out my problem in the formula, techincally the gum i just made was like a rubber band and i remember that i put so little cellulose and so much contact cement, so the problems were the ammounts

like i said before: solvent solvent solvent. if your formula isn't the viscosity of water, you need more solvent.

it was very liquid, but maybe my solvent is not the adecuate cuz i used thinner

I don think cellulose is allowed in my country. Never seen or heard of it. Many items a prohibited in my country. Sigh.

it should be fine. its just the fibers in cotton and other plants that make them strong. its used in all kinds of stuff. clothes, plastics, ect. i think that pllagunos is mixing it up with cellulose acetate though. cellulose acetate is when you dissolve cellulose with a special acid, making it even STRONGER. but i dont think that he is using that, just normal cellulose.

I built the heating coil. 8 inches of 20 AWG nichrome wire and a CR2 battery did the trick, as well as a switch. Check out the pics on realwebtech.

your are right i was wrong i confused with cellulose acetate but its not pure cellulose is something that is used to make sinthetic fibers i think nitrocellulose or something like that but its strong enough i think

CR2 battery its enough? and do you alreay try it with acetone or water btw* i love your heating coil

If any of you guys are using a heating coil, try using aluminum to be the part that the coil is on. It is one of the best metals to conduct heat.

Yes, but it wouldn't be significant enough to change the heat.

How can I turn a spray bottle into a wrist water shooter?
I'm trying to make a Spider-Man styled wrist water shooter using a spray bottle. I strap the spray bottle head (the nozzle and trigger) to my wrist (sideways) and strap a fluid container on my arm and that works, but now I want to activate the spray bottle trigger remotely with my 2 middle finders Spider-Man style. How can I do this? Do I need to make some sort of lever?

Basically if the head of this is strapped to my wrist at 90 degrees (on its side), how can I pull the trigger Spider-Man style?

Yeah, sorry we have been busy lately. I honestly dont know. But i do know that that wont shoot far. I m also not sure if viscous formulas will get stuck in there.
