also gotta think about the when it dry's and gets stuck to the end of the nozzel ... just saying . silly string does that crap all the time !!!!!!! dont think it be much of a problem. but it might not let the web go out correctly. IVE ALSO BEEN THINKING OF THE 3 NOZZEL DESIGN MAYBE WHEN IT GOES THROUGH IT CAN SPIN ITSELF LIKE HOW U PASS THROUGH ONE OFF THE MACHINES AT LIKE DISNEYLAND OR SOMETHING AND U TURN IT , AND IT CRANKS ENERGY WHILE U PASS THREW. so u can like have it in a weird shape, so that when liquid passes threw it turns itself

Wut?

He's talking about a turbine with a few spinnerettes. At least I think he is.

Or, what if it did both, sorry i had a blonde moment, but is he saying to use a turbine to spin like a spinneret and be able to blow out the webbing. But won't this take up batteries and if it did we'd have to use watch batteries most likely to have enough space. But with the the turbine you'd need a small engine, which could be hard to fit on your arm. Even a small one.

And another thing with the motor (sorry for calling it an engine up top) is that if it got caught on your shirt or something like that it could tear up your shirt and stuff.

I think a spinneret, for me, would be a secondary adjustment to the shooter. This is because I want to know that the formula has enough power to be pushed out first, let alone be pushed through a spinneret; although the spinneret will help with the shear-thinning process.

Ahhhhhh!!! No offense, but I can't understand a word you're saying. Grammar! Spelling! Periods! Capitalization!

Argh. Call me a grammar natzi, but that stuff just bugs me.

translation: What if the webbing sticks to the shooter? Silly string does it right? It might interfere with the way the web forms. I was also thinking about the nozzle design. It could have a turbine so when the fluid passes through, the nozzle/spinnerettes will turn. Not only that, but we can add a small generator that actives when the turbine spins.

sorry i was on my ipad .. hahaha anyways yeah thats what i ment ... period !

Yeah Same here. Also thanks for the clarification WW. I was looking at some of J. Carson design for the spiderman web shooters for uses back in 2002 and I really like the one with the pneumatic pumps. If I can find some way to incorporate it into the Web shooter design I'm using. Pressurizing the cartridge shouldn't be a problem.

Hey specs, why use the pneumatic pump? I mean, if you can pressurize a cartridge of fluid then why use an electric device? Just curious.

Hey White Widow I have been following this form for a while along with the formula forum too. But I have a question why don't you just make a two part shooter almost like the milk and crackers one. Because my idea was that you make the electronics and other functions in one part and that part would be put on the upper part of your arm next to your elbow. and then the cartridge filled with the formula and the nozzle on your wrist area. Then the trigger on your palm. But there is just one problem that i figure out about this design and it is the whole double tap trigger idea. anyone got the solution?

For me, it's the more simple and logical choice to do it... Unless I do eventually find a container which could be highly pressurized then the pneumatic pumps will be crossed out of the design process.

Now unless the fluid itself is able to obtain to high pressure volume, then the pneumatic pump will also be discarded.. And a electric device, why? Because it's soooo keeewwl :woot:

Is it really? That suck's.... im sorry i cant do it.. its just im so excited i gotta just type. howabout i just post pictures on here? okay, bye.

or you could try and re-read what you wrote before you post it.

guys, guys. Let's not fight. No one's grammar here is perfect. Mine suffers even when I re-read my posts thrice. Anywho, let's get back to the topic at hand. It seems, at least to me, that we each have our own unique view of this project. I have my pvc cartridges, specs has his pump, and wadaltmon, well, he's got his own number of ideas. So i guess the point now is to:

a.) Have each prototype successfully created.
b.)trouble shoot each issue.

I'm guessing that the main issue is in the forming of individual threads. As a sort of catch 22, we can't make a formula until we complete our shooters, but we can't fine tune our shooters without the formulas. Here's what I suggest.

We each create the prototypes. The only requirements are that they can propel a liquid, and that the pressure must be adjustable to compensate for viscosity rates.

Only then can we put stipulations on size of shooter, modifications, and heck, even nozzles can't be created without the fluid.

Why don't we come up with three shooter prototypes. We have the weed eater tank (which I think is brilliant by the way), and the symbiote's host prototype. (when I update my media player's drivers, I'll check that out mate.) Once I finish my retractable hidden blade prototype, I'll use my new found dremeling skills to make the shooter prototype. Once we have three WORKING (with video) prototypes, we can focus on webbing formulas and variations.

So we each make our own, and then show eachother? Sounds good. we should have like a certain date to post it on.. orr it will be all over the place.

Sounds good to me.. But I can't make any promises to have it done by March 15.. How about the end of March?

That's a good point, it's science project time here, and I better get cracking on that hovercraft!
