Does anyone know where I can get some flexible pvc tubing.

flexible PVC? I didn't know there was such a thing. What's the occasion?

Almost all hardware stores have pressure pipes of all kinds.

First of all, i´ve been following the formula thread and this one, and you are doing a great job. This is the second time i made a post, but i´ve been in the SHH and the SHH forums since Spider-man 1 :yay:, so i finally have something to contribute, just a little idea I have:

A few months ago i was trying to make a flamethrower (nothing crazy, dont worry :woot:) with a super soaker, so i researched a little about it, and i found this:
http://www.amazon.com/SUPER-SOAKER-MAX-INFUSION-BACKPACK/dp/B000OQG5RC

It´s a backpack for the super soaker, with a 100-ounce capacity, we put the formula there, and use something like this to shoot it.

My idea is that we dont change the cartridge with the formula, no, we change the cartridge with the CO2(with a webshooter similar to the webshooter in the 90´s animated series), but i dont know if it could work, what do you think?

Welcome, Tardisdoo! A backpack is good, but I'm not sure it could handle the pressure. As for CO2 and the formula, you might have to clarify. I don't know what you mean.

Honestly, I might make a Mangaverse Spidey. I kinda like the whole ninja thing. One problem is I don't know much about him. Does he make webs? The other problem is the people who see me won't know much, if all, about him either.

mangaverse spidey is the story of spiderman told through the point of view of a ninja. His sensei Ben was killed by the ronin (wow, I can't say any of this without feeling really nerdy.) Venom. Anyway, what I like about him is that he has no powers. He's the equivalent of Batman. He has martial arts, He climbs walls with claws, throws and swings from grappling hooks, etc.

I'm actually "kind of" surprised that he wasn't more popular. He is actually more realistic that any other spiderman. I only say "kind of" because his story was terrible and didn't sell.

I like him best for the above mentioned reason of being somewhat realistic, and because his costume is much less like tights, and more like an athletic T-shirt with gloves and a mask. You could actually wear jeans as long as the shirt is long enough.

Welcome tardisdoo! I love the backpack idea as it allows more fluid than any previous pressure vessel we've had so far. That's more than half a gallon. As Symbiote man said, it wouldn't have anough pressure containment, but with modifications, It would work wonders as it is the least invasive "tank" design.

Symbiote-man: I think what he means about the CO2 is that (and correct me if I'm wrong) he wants to use co2 to charge the backpack. Maybe have a couple of co2 adapters on the front. I'd say that's ok, but the issue of changing the cartridges in the backpack becomes a problem. Otherwise, it would be cool.

Hey all, thanks for trying to understand what i was trying to say, but I think I didn't explain right what I had in mind, sorry

My idea was that I put webfluid in the backpack, then the fluid goes to the webshooter, so it doesn't need a lot of pressure, and in the webshooter the CO2 is used to push it outside. I might do a few drawings and upload it later.

On a sidenote, I used to love the Mangaverse Spider-man, I had the comic (lost it) and I think I still have the action figure.

I knew the origin, but I forgot if he had webs or not. I love ninjas and I love Spidey, but I can't have cool webs if Mangaverse Spidey had no webs. I thought of another idea (this is where I feel nerdy) in some comics, Spidey webbed up his clothes and made web straps (unseen in the comics) and put on his back. The only problem on this is how to make that web-look.

I've just became interested in mangaverse spidey Any view on his web grapple thingies?

This spiderman is the most realistic. He's like the batman of marvel. I like the somewhat realistic superheroes. Spiderman mangaverse, Batman, Free runner, and sherlock holmes are the only "superheroes" that I feel could become a reality.

Sorry, I got distracted about that subject.

So good news; I started a prototype for the webshooter. I hit a small hiccup with the nylon tubing not connecting with the valve. I'm going to have to put it off until I can make a new valve (as mine wasn't compatable with any couplers). I'm putting that (a guess) at around october/november when I will be decent at welding. I'll post pictures once I download the camera software. As for the fluid, that will take a while.

Honestly, I might just want to make what Mangaverse Spider-Man has. I mean look, it's AWSOME!!

And, it has my favorite... CLIMBING CLAWS! Now... On the issue of making those sharp things...

Two more things... Tardisdoo, you've read the Mangaverse Spider-Man comics, is it good, and does it end the first one, or continue the story so you have to buy the seccond... And the third... And the fourth...

Whoops! I got distracted. So I congratulate you, White Widow! Is the lever valve working for only two fingers? I bought a PVC pipe so I can start sawing down for my double tube backpack.

You can buy grappling hooks and climbing claws on Amazon. The valve is meant for air, and not liquid. I got everything except for a connector. Thank you. Wait, for the double tube backpack, What are you planning?

I only had the first volume, i believe, before MJ became Spiderwoman, and I really liked it, but that was a long time ago and i don't remember much about it, i also liked the climbing claws.

@White Widow: Great news! I hope we can see pictures of your prototype soon

Grappling hooks are low quality, but climbing claws I have. The double pack is for half the formula each, so they mix right before it comes out.

I've been following you guys for a while now and I am very interested! btw you guys must be near genius to say the least. I was wondering if you would need someone with metalworking skills such as welding and forging metal to help make the webshooters? I have at least 3 or so years of experience and would love to get in on this and help you guys complete this project, so please let me know thanks in advance, all of you are awesome.

So back to the subject, I just wanted to remind you that if needed, you can make the shooter bigger. Like you could have two chambers of webbing components on opposite sides of your forearm, and have the CO2 start right before your elbow or on the bottom of your forearm, and the nozzle is up in front. So, if you have any problems with making it big enough, you can always extend it.

Hello Ultimate Webhead! Welcome to the forums! Actually we do need some metal working experience. We need a valve to be created. It would be using one of two designs. It would operate on the principle of one, with the look of the other. If you are serious, I will send you the design if you make it. I will also pay for it in time. It would save me quite a bit of effort.

ultimate spider: That's certainly an interesting point. The only thing I could say as a disclaimer is that it can't defeat the purpose of the design. For example, the reason I want it, or the two reasons, are to make police life easier and a device that would make fire escape easy. If someone falls, this could catch them. that's a different nozzle.

I'd love to help with the valve send me the design and i'll work on it and keep you guys up to date. Also if you still needed to reinforce the cartridges or even the mangaverse backpack idea so they can hold more pressure I can see what I can do about that. I'll have to give thought to the type of metal for the backpack, steel could be awfully heavy
