To everyone: the web shooter we are developing is a device that fires a hardening polymer. The formula is the forum where we decide the properties.
To each individual that wants to swing, the reason that everyone leaped on your tails about this is possibly because I told them not to. Limitations of the body, fluid consumption, and the problems with adhesion are only the top of the iceberg in the list of problems with swinging.
Keep in mind that we are creating this for multiple reasons and that none of us are professional chemists. It's what I want to do for a living, but as of know, everything I learned is online. Whatever formula we create is probably not going to live up to the standards of comic book substances. The disclaimer is that this project is dangerous. I've been burned, slashed, cut, bruised, and terrified by some of these experiments. Just know what you are getting in it.
To Owlboy: There's no need to get defensive or angry about people telling you about safety. Everyone has their own reasons for doing this. We live by the philosophy of "We don't care where you've been. We care about where you are going." If you want to fight robbers in your pajamas, that's your business. I'm making this for firefighters so that they can spray the webbing on the ceiling and preventing a collapse. That's my business. Just study hard, contribute suggestions, and have fun.
What you're doing is dangerous. You might want to maybe reconsider a different route kid. It's not like magic where we can just build a web shooter out of thin air.. I like your motivation and dedication to this. Reminds me of myself when I was young.
