World Webbing formula

I tested out the formula, and well... it blew up in my face. Literally.
The elastyrene (apparently, what we call it now) is highly flammable. It was more ******ant when I added the rubber cement and a bit of liquid plumber, but otherwise, don't get this stuff too hot without modifying it.

well yeah... the solvent is acetone. Why on earth did you decide to test a ketone with fire?

Well, I had my soldering iron on. And there was solder on it. It was at boiling temperature. You get the idea.
Also, I added rubber cement and liquid plumr. It was very strong, but it should get some graphene just for a bit of assurance that it will be strong enough. I think next, I will use glaze for terra-cotta, as it is elastomeric. And, apparently, "The Acetone is not actually "dissolving" the Styrofoam. Here is what is happing. When styrofoam is placed in acetone, the long polymer strands are dissolved, releasing the trapped air and causing the structure to disintegrate. However, the insoluble crosslinked parts of the polymer keep the polystyrene from dissolving entirely, in much the same way as buoys on nets keep the entire net from sinking to the bottom of a lake. Once the acetone evaporates, you are left with a hard crosslinked polystyrene residue."

What is liquid Plumr? What is in it? You used it in another webbing experiment.

You mentioned dissolving in the definition of how it wasn't dissolving???
"When styrofoam is placed in acetone, the long polymer strands are dissolved"

I like the idea of the ceramic glaze. Is that pricey?

edit: Oh, you thought I meant fully dissolved. I need to be more specific. I'm sorry.

Well, it wouldn't really be an experiment if i didn't blow up in your face at least once.
Like in the spider-man trailer.

1. It is a foaming pipe snake, for cleaning drains and such. I thought the property of expansion would be useful; and, well, it has been such.

2. Connecting to your edit, yeah it's cool man.

3. Frankly, I have no idea how expensive it is; it's something my sister had. You can probably get a bit for about 5 dollars at some craft store.

thank you. forgiveness is much appreciated. So what chemical is in liquid plumbr. I thought it was a form of acid, but it's made by the same company that makes bleach.

Edit: I found it on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid-Plumr Nice find. A surfactant, a moisture wick and an oxidation agent. Good choice! After looking at the sodium hypochlorite though, wow. That plus the acetone. I hope you still have your eyebrows.

Don't doubt my diving-out-of-danger skills! Haha...
Anyway, do you know anything about IR?

Are you talking about the chatroom? I just sign onto the original every know and then.

Other than setting up my garage, not at all.

I'm trying to figure out if one can set different frequencies of them, so a receptor of a certain frequency would not pick up the signal emitted from one of a different frequency.

Wadaltmon, how exactly are you planning to incorporate IR into the belt/shooter? IR light cannot travel through solid objects (besides transparent ones), so unless your receiver is directly in the path of the transmitter's signal, nothing will happen. It would be like like trying the change the channel on your TV with your hand in front of the remote.

Guys, check it out. White widow is a fanfic spider-man comic character. I made this name up because I'm whiter than sour cream, but apparently DC fanboys had a similar idea.

I need to make that my screen name pic.

Anywho, for those who don't want to bother making a PVC pressure vessel, this makes it easier for you.

Isnt' that just Spidey's FF suit?

No idea. I don't read the comics. The only ones I liked were ultimate, and ultimate with miles morales. But the second got stale. I only really like the Ultimate. They attempted to make peter a bit more realistic. As an example, the spider that bit peter was given a drug with a viral component. that makes sense. The web shooters were actually Peter's dad's formula. Aliens didn't exist, and Venom was an experiment from two revolutionary genetic scientists. Though why venom produced webbing is beyond me.

What is FF anyway?
