I don't even think that's especially realistic. I mean, I would assume a super powered do-gooder would get a very mixed reaction, but that's kind of my point: mixed. There would be just as many people who are scared of him as there would be people dropping to their knees and proclaiming him to the the second coming. And there would be even more people who are simply wearily distrustful of him or think he's really cool but a complete shock to the system.
Oh, no, I'm pretty convinced if some super being like Superman with that kind of power came down, the majority of people would be scared pretty ****less of him in one way or another.
I'm just tired of this kind of stuff, in general. It's more of a Marvel thing but seems to have seeped into DC a lot as of late, too. You don't have to have anyone go, 'Ra-Ra, go go GO!', but the whole 'He just saved our planet...I bet he did as a set up, and he's with the guys he just beat!' stuff has worn out its welcome for me.
