Homecoming Were Richard & Mary Parker "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

With the new Spider-Man solo movie set in the MCU, should Peter's late parents be involved in S.H.I.E.L.D's past? If so, was it the cause of their death?

I think if so, the Parker's parents should be more of a story on AoS. Have Holland cameo or special appearence on some episodes focusing on Coulson telling him about his parents.
Or heck, maybe Peter's parents died during Winter Soldier, Peter would have been the age of 12/13

I mean, with S.H.I.E.L.D disbanding and agents being revealed as HYDRA, could have they been offed and sent to the fishes by the Rogue S.H.I.E.L.D/HYDRA?

If anything I think Richard and Mary did work for SHIELD but then SHIELD turning against them would be plausible since HYDRA has basically been exposed as SHIELD for the better part of a few years/decades so HYDRA/SHIELD basically being responsible for Peter's parents' deaths would make sense but then wouldn't Peter be Anti-Registration eventually if that were to be the case

I think they're gonna go all the way with the Parents thing with a few lines. Like, Fury saying to Peter -- "Your parents worked for me, kid. Died during a mission." But yeah, I think that's the most we'll get out of it. Marvel will avoid that story (TASM series) as much as possible.

Still say, if they want to push Spidey after CW, Marvel has 4 shows and 4 in development, one that has gotten to season 2 and other that is on season 3, which happens to be based on SHIELD and their agents, easy tie in for the Spider-Man movie.

Peter's parents also working for Fury would make sense and that is how Fury reaches out to their son Peter...it makes total sense in terms of plausibility and with CW Spider-Man if it looks like he is aligning with Pro-Registration then that doesn't mean that Spider-Man can't change sides because for all we know he very well could and go Anti-Registration

it would be cool since we do have spidey now in the mcu to actually play off that from the comics and they where with shield. Even if they where not field agents but scientists would work well too. Plus we really dont need to get into it in first film or two but bring it up down the road. Heck we could maybe even have a flashback episode on aos where coulson or may could have done a mission with them and so for.

well we dont need to make them be a whole big focus like asm was trying to do. But have it come up down the road ie in a sequel or in infinity wars i dont see the problem then. Plus it would pay homage to classic roots for the character as we got the whole mcu to play into now.

Personally yes I agree we don't need to see them or have much said. But saying they where shield be it agents or scientists would be great as we have that aspect to play with and could tie spidey to hydra and other former shield threats. But again it doesn't need to be a major thing. Or we could leave it off for like I said above maybe just mentions by may to peter. Or if peter interactions with shield or fury. Or we could maybe see Richard and mary in a episode of shield. But it doesn't have to be in our face. Be like comics did. Mentioned here or there. But we don't see something of them to a later time.

They need to keep Peter family simple. Just Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Parents stories in comics were mostly boring and worse in Amazing Spider-man movies.

Even though asm did it bad and comics stories wasn't the best. That doesn't mean they couldnt make a better story out of it in films. For me yes we don't need to see his parents. But I would mind if it was allure to and maybe more comes of it at a later time. But we don't need it right in our face in first film.

Ock, question what type of story or background would you want the parkers to be in mcu story. If they where not with shield.

I don't care to see anymore of Peter's parents. If they even decide to push this as a storyline on AOS, or as a spinoff of its own, it's like they're basing a plotline or show on that boring storyline from ASM.

Again there is a lot of different 5hing marvel could do. Just cause the comics did it poorly yrs ago and asm ploy didn't amount to anything. Doesn't mean marvel couldn't or shouldn't do anything. It's just like oh marvel shouldn't do goblin/ock, or mj and gwen cause past films done them already.

I have no problem with them be mentioned by Fury or someone else in MCU. If anything I would welcome it. It would be nice nod to further establish that Peter Parker always existed in MCU and did not just happened at once (like Sony deal t.


But do we need to see them? Or tell story about them. I think not.

I want no story for them. They not need to be mentioned. They not very important in comics. Raimi movies never needed to mention them. Neither did Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.
