We're running out of water

Hey, it wasn't that bad...

O.k. it was but for some reason its one of the movies I like to watch, its kinda like watching a train wreck.

Kevin Costner, I say no more. Plus watching it makes you think you can get water from a dehumidifier, which is rather disturbing.

Well I have a dehumidifier in my basement and when ever it is running i have to go empty the water out of it, see it takes the moisture out of the air so it is less humid.

Oh, point taken.

yes my humidifier also fills up probably once every 2 days, and it fills with a little less than a gallon of water. thats more than a toilet flush.

Depends on the amount of moisture, but the one in my basement fills up twice a day if I let it run, but only in the summer when its hot outside. So on a hot day in the summer I get probably 3 to 4 liters of moisture in my basement..

90% of the water I drink is tap water...Apparently Detroit tap water is some of the finest in the world... :D

California tap water is horrible. :down

Oregon tap water is win.

we are not running out of water. Ever hear of an Ocean, a filter, some heat and a pot?

The fact of the matter is that while desalination technology is improving and becoming more efficient, it's still just not efficient enough. The demand could outweigh the supply, and we could be in trouble. More energy needs to be focused into desalination technologies.

I mostly agree with you, however. Then again, climate shifts are causing irregular precipitation patterns. We're seeing drought in areas that normally have high precipitation, and flooding where precipitation is normally low. So actually, I think this may be more of a regional problem than anything.

I just drank 30 ounces of tap water after reading this thread.. :D
