Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch”

Speaking of Wes Anderson, I am a bit surprised he never got Rick Moranis in one of his movies. His films seem to be the types of films that Moranis would want to be a part of.

Moranis has been in retirement for most of Anderson's career. Now that he's returned to acting, though, this is a collaboration that NEEDS to happen.

I love Wes Anderson. Lost count of how many times I watched GBH. He stands firmly in his quirk. I dig that. There's like a purity to it that reminds me of why I started liking films in the first place.

I kind of prefer October for this sort of film, anyway.

The Royal Tenenbaums is still his best flick. Life Aquatic comes second. Royal Tenenbaums has the most haunting, beautiful and bleak, dried sense of humor attempt of suicide all packed in one sequence.

Needle in the hay!

Rushmore is still my favorite. I'd say that and Royal Tenenbaums are his best.

Moonrise Kingdom is third for me.

Hoping for another trailer soon. I enjoyed the trailer they showed before the delay.

I enjoy a lot of Wes' movies, but Royal Tenenbaums is my favorite of his.

Don't really know if it really needs another trailer. Maybe just the same with the new release date.

if they release a new trailer anyway, you don’t have to watch it, you know? Others could, though

You said what you said. Its pretty annoying to me, if someone thinks, what „it needs to“ and not what he/she needs to

I never took Cannes seriously. From standing ovations to walkouts, it’s the biggest circus of all.

I wonder if they have a guy whose only job is to run a stop clock for the cheering.

*clicks stopwatch*

“….. alright, this might take awhile. I’m gonna stream an episode of Rick and Morty while I wait for this to wrap up.”

I enjoyed this. If you enjoy Wes, you’ll enjoy it. If not, it’s not going to convert anyone over. As with most anthology films, it’s bit of a mixed bag. Overall though, it’s entertaining.

Was it more Grand Budapest Hotel or more Moonrise Kingdom?

He’s gotten great performances from younger actors throughout his career, but the kids just don’t work for me in that movie

It was also the movie where I thought he was buying into his own ego. I dunno, it was just something about it that felt like a self parody.
