The Dark Knight Wha does everyone think of Bale's Batman voice?

That's alright, since he was in public anyway. But with Fox, he was in an enclosed building, I figured he would've talked normally.
There wasn't any people nearby, and it's sort of a spot-on moment. I mean when you're genuinely concerned for someone, above all else, you'll probably check to see if they're alrite.

I think it's worse in TDK than it was in BB. He almost sounded like Animal form The Muppet Show at times

There were 2-3 lines he had were his voice sounded almost better than his yelling in BB.

Other than that, sad to say, he over did it big time with the rest of the dialogue.

I just don't get why Nolan and Bale even would want him sounding like he's got strepthroat to the point you almost can't tell what he's saying.

I thought his voice in BB was alright but like I said, aside from a few lines in TDK the rest of his spoken dialogue I didn't care for.

I found it a little distracting at times, but well suited. And I agree with the idea that Bruce Wayne isn't a good actor- that the voice is part of his get up and doesn't always sit well. Kinda like the suit he can't turn his head in.

Meh, I don't mind the Batbale voice.

Batman needs to hide his voice, so he makes it raspier. It makes sense to me.

Oh ya it makes sense, but doesn't stop from it being annoying at times. Like when he had large amounts of dialogue.

The voice got better as the movie went along but really its like a hit or miss when it works it works when it doesnt it really takes you out of the movie

I thought it was fine up until the final confrontation with him & the Joker. I think it was overdone to the point of being really muffled, both other than that I think it works.

I wasn't a big fan of his voice in this one. It was tolerable in Begins. He should have saved the "growl" for when he's specifically trying to be intimidating and not use it for every line. He seemed to whisper a lot more in Begins. It was to the point in TDK, I had a hard time understanding some of the dialog.

I'm not sure what went on with Bale in TDK. I thought some of his dialogue sounded almost computer aided/altered somehow. Bale has the capability to do a really good Batman voice. But at this point, he's got to either start caring more about this role, or he needs to take some voice lessons. It's not even that he can't control his vocal stuff, it's that he seems clueless about when to use which voice. For instance, he's yelling lines that should be emotional, subtle, and even tender.

I think it is. Normal people can't talk like that. It feels as if Batman is using one of those devices psycho killers use to "mask" their voices...But he sounded the same in Begins. His voice seems to be digitally enhaced perhaps, to create a more intimdating effect. Problem was, in TDK, Bale seems to be trying too hard, and in his last scene with Joker, he sounds as if he's going to die, or someone's choking him. A bit distracting, but no deal breaker for me.

Yeah, it's not as if Bale was directed to act or speak a certain way in the movie or anything. He definitely doesn't care and the blame rests with him. :whatever:

No, his voice is not computerized, which is why it's often hit or miss. When Bale is on, he's on. Batman in the interrogation scene was one of the most badass thing's I've ever scene. He started off calm and built up to the "WHERE ARE THEY?!?!?" screaming at the Joker. Great stuff.

I thought his voice was worst in the first scenes with Batman -- the parking garage, bank vault, rooftop -- but sounded much better as the movie went on. I even liked it towards the end. During his final conversation with the Joker, he's obviously injured and in pain, which is why it's hard for him the speak. The same goes for his final talk with Gordon, which I also though was quite good.

From my stake, he disguises it on purpose so that it isnt recognized. Understandable.

But in the scene when he is instructing Mr. Fox on how to monitor the city with sonar (while dressed as Batman), he speaks with that same alterred voice.

This did not make sense to me because they were in private and he would not have to hide his identity from Mr. Fox.

My only plausible assumtion is that the suit causes this; otherwise I dunno.......

Anyone with a good explanation?

I liked Batman's voice when he was yelling at Maroni and bashing Joker upside his head.

Yeeaaahhhhh, that about sums it up for me. :funny:

And yeah, Bale's voice this time around was much more annoying to me. In BB, I could handle most of it. Here, he just took it on overdrive. Some lines that required no yelling, he'd just shout at the person.

It doesn't help when he exaggerates his mouth movements to look scary either. Becomes laughable, and his lines sound mumbled. All in all, disappointed.

Really? I always thought they digitally altered his voice or something. At least in some scenes...You know, just to "enhance it." But it's good to know that's not the case, not that I had a problem with it. :hehe:

I like to think that unlike in Batman Begins (when he was speaking to Rachel in the cave), He has been Batman for so long that once he puts on the uniform, it's a complete and natural transformation.Every essence of Bruce Wayne is gone. He is the Batman, and this is how the Batman speaks.
