The Dark Knight Wha does everyone think of Bale's Batman voice?

I do not care for the growl. He sounds like he is yelling.

I kinda like the way voice on the Watchmen trailer sounds when he says, "The world will look up and shout, 'Save us!' And I'll wisper, 'No.'"

After hearing his voice, I thought to myself that it sounded like batman :)

Okay, is it just me or would Bale's John Connor voice (from the trailer) make a much better Batman voice?

Micheal Keaton had the best live action Batman voice. Cold. Chilling. Badass.

With Bale, it is a little too gruff at times. I know he is suppose to use a voice destorter or something, and I'm sure the filmakers play with his voice in the editing suite. I just hope they go back someday to all the Nolan films and soften the 'grumle' a bit so he is easier to understand. I'm not saying change his voice completely... just take a few of the marbles out of his mouth and he will sound fine :)

After The Dark Knight growl~I wonder if Bale's throat was sore...I just did the "Where are they?" and I need to go gargle with salt.....:oldrazz:

I still don't really like his batman voice/growl but I've gotten more used to it.

And I didn't think the scene was too dark

I was actually thinking the same thing. Agree with ya.

The only issue I have is that in one batch of dialogue, (cannot pinpoint where), he seems to have a slight lisp going on.

I liked it with the exception of the last part to the Joker. I know he was supposed to sound beaten and like he was out of breath, but it was just too much. I liked it in the scarecrow scene, and just about everything until that part in the pruit building.

I like when he shows anger...
The growl doesn't really bother me actually...

I hate not being able to make such a growly voice :cmad::hehe:

His voice is awesome.

You guys are just jelous.lol.

Keaton whispered basically. Kilmer just spoke in his Bruce Wayne voice with like 5% more timber... you could tell it was him. Bales batman shouts sometimes, so I understand why its needed. No problem here.

Never have liked the Bale-Bat-voice. It's irritating and unnecessary. Not to mention hard to understand at times. All he has to do is lower his voice and alter it slightly (like he did in Begins while talking to Rachel in the Bat-cave). Sometimes it was so over the top that it was almost funny. Best bat voice probably belongs to Kilmer, slightly altered but cool sounding.

Some people just don't ****ing get it ... he has a seperate identity and the channeling of rage. It's not about having a Bruce Wayne identafiable whisper to a voice. Like most hardcore fanboys, they get an image or an idea in their head and can't accept adaptation intially ... if ever. I mean people complained about the Joker's look initially for TDK ... he was ****ing totally cool looking in a realistic adapted manner while still staying true to the characteristics. Bale's Batman voice is the best around, IMO. He actually had the balls to take it somewhere, and unfortunately either people who can't grasp it or had the same old same old idea in their head ... they were polarized by it. But you can't be mad that the guy with the most talent to don the cape and cowl had the balls and fortitiude to actually do something with voice and the character.

His growl works much, much better this time out. He's understandable, but pretty frightening.

First screening it was hard to grasp some dialog and it felt forced

Second time around clarity became better and It was tolerable cause I started acknowlidging the fact that it's not meant to be cool, but to not sound a damn thing like wayne AT ALL. The first movie he sounded like Wayne many times and a smart enough person especially rachel could tell. Now that Wayne is back in Gotham to his full capacity people know him all to well and he's EVERYWHERE so he really has to do a good job on disguising who he is. I still had some probs towards the end when he spoke a lot, but dealt with it

Third screening today...Bale did a fantastic Job.

It was a really well made movie and it takes about three screenings to nearly grasp EVERYTHING as u dive deeper into the mood of the film. Nothing got worse except the run time this time got me and I passed out a lil towards the end but besides the length it never really drags and it was better than ever.

Bale is the ****!!!! He was as good and unique as Batman as Ledger was as the Joker. Bale doesn't get as much credit cause he already played similar roles even before Batman. Ledger hadnt done nothing like this yet.

Batman's not meant to sound cool and honestly Kilmer just sounded like Kilmer as Wayne and as Batman and so did everyone else. Bale made two different characters work as one and that has always bothered me about characters. They sound the same with and without the mask.

His voice altrication is VERY necessary indeed. Not about sounding cool but menacing to those who need it to sound that way and unique to those who know bruce wayne too well. He sounds like a Crazy dude who can **** u up and willing to talk like that. Even superman sounds EXACTLY the same and spiderman to those who kno them all too well it just makes them stupid to not figure **** out.

I believe he was criticizing the execution of said concept, not the actual idea of altering your voice for a dual identity. That part is obvious to most fans.

We all know Tobey f'd up that part of the character. But Reeve and even Routh, managed to use very different tones in their respective roles.

I'm on the fence with it. At some points it's great, others he sounds like he has a cold or the cowl is making him sound nasally or something.

No sorry superman fails in every attempt of having a smart secret Identity. Just makes his universe look stupid. Reeve at least acting like an idiot and mostly wore the hat and lightened his swagga a little where as he turns serious toned and really stand up chest out as superman but still...

Routh failed absolutely in doing so as he just sounded too similar to his counter part. Anyway I agree that Bale should have just used his own voice but had technology to alter it making it sound deeper and more menacing, but it still works for what they are going for. It was waaaay better in Begins.

Only problem with Batman's whole thing in this is his lack of ninjitsu and getting too emotional which had him yelling too much and getting angry a lot rather than being calm and to the point. The Joker really got under his skin...lol.

And that's really all I was pointing out. Reeve made an effort to distinguish both personas. Very nicely done, for the fact that all he had to work with were glasses, a different hair-do, and a suit. I was most impressed with speech mannerisms and voice inflections as Clark. His stature aside, you wouldn't be able to tell that this guy was Superman.

I don't really see how, as his Clark was basically a Reeve impersonation through and through.

I always thought Bale's voiceover for the Superbowl spot was pitch-perfect for what I had envisioned Batman to be. It was raspy and growly, but not overly so. Most importantly, it had no resemblance to his Bruce Wayne voice.

I had no problem with him yelling his lines, if the situation called for it. For instance, when he's trying to get answers out of Maroni and Joker. Other times though, it really sounds marbled when he yells out long lines. I've watched the film twice, and there were at least 2 scenes where I had no clue what Bale was saying. That spoof vid speaks a lot of truth, albeit in a mocking but comedic way.

:brucebat:All the balls that explains why it was so deep, I found it too forced when he had to carry on a conversation, but perfect for the threats. Connery found a great balance for the animated series between the two voices. Overall for him to lose the British accent and combine the two vocals you have to give the man credit.
