The Dark Knight Wha does everyone think of Bale's Batman voice?

They do sound similar... I just felt Watchmen's version is a little calmer sounding. Less over the top. I don't hate bale's voice. I just felt it could have been less harsh at times.

Of course its calmer he's doing a monologue.

yep. you can. I simply said that is how I like my batman to sound. Not yelling everywhere he goes looking like an idiot. THat is why countless people are making fun of bale's batman. Because of how rediculous his yelling batman sounds.
Doesn't matter if a guy is doing a monologue or not. His voice is what i'm comparing. Not what he is saying. Think about it.

I like the Batman voice, it sets it apart from Bruce Wayne. That is one more thing that I found awkward about super-heroes. I could never understand why no one, even the person closest to the super-hero, ever recognized the voice under the mask. Like the scene with Mary Jane talking to Spidey on roof-top after he saved her from Goblin. And many numerous Superman-Lois meetings, the worst thing for Superman are his glasses.

I really like batman's voice.

Especially when he does the whole "WHERE ARE THEY" thing in both movies.

it's very amazing. lol.

Having just watched the movie again, Im convinced the only reason the voice is being made a big deal out of is because it's the only thing that approaches an anomaly in the movie.

It was exactly like it was in Begins, yet because TDK repairs so much of the BB's faults except that one minor thing, it gets blown out of proportion.

You know, that's a good point.

People can't just have a good movie, there always has to be a "Well i liked everything but..."

so yeah.

First off what he's doing is not yelling, yelling is making your voice louder by opening up the back of throat more and pushing out your voice with more force ( I should know Ive been a metal singer for 10 years).Bale on the other hand is talking with a raspy voice, thats it, he only yelled when he was interrogating Maroni or The Joker, he didnt yell every line of dialogue he had in the film.

I thought about it, and I think saying he sounded like "an idiot" is bashing a little too much for my liking, comparing is ok, but you sir are bashing.

To be honest, I can't stand the complaining about Batman's voice. You all that hate it must have hearing problems, I can hear it perfectly fine, I heard every word he said..

I love it for the one liners and interigation stuff, but when he's got a long speach of conversation with Gordon or Fox, it gets kinda annoying. Bale could have softened it up a bit.

it's usually very effective, but also really annoying at times

This Joker and this Batman really feel perfect for one another. Joker's creepy murdering psychopath nature vs Batman angry, violent, growling nature. Can't imagine this joker without a Batman who acts and speaks like Bale's. A definite ying and yang effect.

But you can't be mad that the guy with the most talent to don the cape and cowl had the balls and fortitiude to actually do something with voice and the character.

Yes we can... Watch me...

THe growl is unintentionally hilarious.

My favorite Batman voice moment from Bale came in BB, when he interrogates the cop upside down, that was the best Batman voice moment, not sure why but it feels the best to me, and no I have no problem with his voice in either movie.

,

?

I just watched TDK again, and Bale's voice seems better the 2nd & 3rd time around. You realize that sometimes when he slures his lines he's just tring to convey a sense of exhaustion. Like in the scene where Joker is hanging upside down.

Through two films, I've never even had a shred of a problem with this aspect of the character. I don't even really notice it, to be honest. I'm surprised to find it's such a hang-up within the fanboy community.

That's alright, since he was in public anyway. But with Fox, he was in an enclosed building, I figured he would've talked normally.
He isn't supposed to tell him he's Batman even though he knows. 'As long as you don't tell me exactly what you're doing, when I'm asked, I don't have to lie. But don't think of me as an idiot.'

I just don't get why people have difficulty with this either.

When he's Batman, he's Batman. That's Batman's voice, so regardless of the situation that's what he uses. In Begins he called Alfred's name after being exposed to the fear toxin, talked to Ra's in the train and delivered his "It's not who I am, but what I do that defines me" line to Rachel all in his Batman voice.

The voice is part of Batman, just as much as the outfit is. He's not going to talk in his Bruce Wayne voice because at that time he isn't. I like the fact that there is a distinction between Bruce Wayne and Batman that goes beyond merely putting on a costume. His voice, attitude and methods all change when he becomes Batman.

I feel like the voice wasn't that bad but sometimes he couldn't speak cohearently and he just slurred everything. I think sometimes his cowl was too tight and he could not speak right. For example, when he said "Your going to be in a paded cell for the rest of your life" or when he said "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the vilian." I still like Bale's Batman the best.

I think I'm the only person in the world who absolutely LOVES Bales BatVoice. :csad:

I honestly had no trouble understanding anything he said, and felt it was a great choice and further shows Bale's chameleon-like acting.

The only time Bales growl bothered me was at the end with the Joker. I thought he couldve toned it down a bit. I loved it when he taleked to Maroni though.
