what are cable's powers/abilities nowadays??

I honestly hope he never gets his Telepathy back. I like Cable but I HATE telepaths.

For his Teke though, the more the better. Teke is always good.

:hehe:

I remember when him and Silver Surfer had a fight all across the Pacific. They were blowing things up and then Cable was reconstructing them. And then we find out that Cable was the one keeping Providence afloat the whole time. That's just silly power.

Instead of having the X-Men move to San Fran, I'd have much preferred it if they went to Providence. The non-fighting mutants would have been under Cable's protection. It would be Genosha done right

Well if Cable had his full power he would be Nate Grey who was one of the most powerful mutants ever like a mutant jesus. The the techno-organic virus kept his powers low.

Cable and Franklin Richards need to get their uber-powers back, team-up and make "Killing Wanda" their first order of business :o

I'm cool with like, that plus they let him do the occasional hella-crafty telepathy move cause he's superfuture telepath from the future, who knows SEKRETS! And like the very, very occasional 'tardsy-powerful telepa-whoopasery with the condition that it gives him the mother of all migraines for like a week afterwards. Like if the Silver Surfer or Thanos or some such badass shows up Cable can jack them really hard, one time, and then he's out for the rest of the party.

I can dig it

Personally, I just want him to have the fine-tuned telekinesis back. I could do without telepathy, even. I just like seeing him pull s*** apart telekinetically and put it back together again. That's a fun visual to me. You see, I'm a simple man...

I dig this too. I guess I like Cable more than I realized

I didn't get it the first one for the PSP where Cable was playable, even though my love for Cannonball is strong....just not strong enough to buy the game for 1 guy :o

I don't even have a PSP. All my money goes to comics and sports nutrition.

Watch. Cable'll suck in the game. Those tools.

"Jesus" Cable is more or less a highly trained Nate Grey with a temporary healing factor.

to be fair, Nate Grey had just as strong a "jesus" streak going for a while.

Yes, the Shaman X-Man bit.

Wasn't too popular with the readers -- was cancelled after 12 issues.

You haven't read the first storyarc or two of Cable & Deadpool, have you? The second he got control of his powers, he became Mr. Psychic Powerhouse.
I never read it
does stryfe The the techno-organic virus?
Yea he was basically a god at the start of C&D.
A few of the X-Men are like Gods when they are in full control of their powers like Gambit New Son

^ah yes, all that omega level business

Not all powerful mutants are Omegas, and vice-versa.

Elixir is an Omega-mutant, but look at how powerful he is.

Scarlet Witch, Mad Jim Jaspers, Jamie Braddock, etc. are powerful reality warpers, but none of them are identified as an Omega-level mutant.

Then again, no one really likes to use its messy definition.

Elixir is incredibly powerful. He is able to manipulate DNA on a molecular level. The guy can heal almost any wound, including growing a heart for someone after their own has been ripped out of their chest. He is able to use his power offensively and defensively. He can inflict disease and take it away. Plus he is still a kid and his powers have yet to fully develop. If he were to ever become a villian, he'd be a major threat. He doesnt have to be all shooting stuff and causing massive destruction like Phoenix and Iceman to be powerful

That would mean rewriting DNA. There's no way any writer will give him that power.

...

Okay, maybe Claremont would if Elixir was a girl.

Elixir can do everything....except restore X-genes :o
have they ever tried to have him do that? I can see why not as it would be a convenient answer to the big mess they made with deciMation. He was able to restore Wolfsbane's powers back in New Mutants, but that was only bc she still had the X-gene and it was suppressed as opposed to being erased

LOL....didnt CC have Rachel manipulate her own DNA to make herself into a hyrbid dinosaur in UXM

He probably could manipulate DNA he just doesnt know how. Lately he's been all emo and obsessive about curing death and such.

Just wait, eventually they'll have an arc where Elixir accidentally creates some sort of zombie plague.

Claremont had Rachel turn herself into a half-dinosaur using only her telekinesis to rearrange genes. Sounds like typical CC-level ridiculousness but somebody like Josh should have no prob giving and taking X-genes. I know it'd make him way too convenient and a plot killer so it'll never happen.

given that Elixir's abilities apparently require physical contact, I personally dont think it makes him TOO powerfull. I mean it's not really much worse than Rogue's abilities.

If you dont want him to mutate you into some sort of freak or kill you or take your powers or whatever, just throw a rock at him. He cant heal himself.

I hope they keep the physical contact limitation too. Can't have cross-continent healing going on :o
