What are your favorite movie trailers?

No Country has a great trailer for it.

It's hard for me to watch 70's trailers. Cheesy narration not to mention the dude repeating the title about a dozen times in a five minute trailer.

I remember I saw the Batman Begins teaser online during a computer class and had to try to contain my excitement so that the teacher wouldn't notice! GREAT teaser. Didn't even know it was batman til the end.

I watched the Superman Returns teaser again last week and that thing still brings a tear to my eye. It was PERFECT. Iconic, epic, and ended with that amazing shot of Superman blasting down to earth, the little sonic boom, and then the tiny streak as he heads into the city.
I remember the first time I saw it was when they showed it during Smallville the same night it came out befre the Harry Potter film at the time. I had told my friends it was coming out and since most of them were at the theatre in line already when it aired during Smallville, they were all texting me (I didn't go to Harry Potter, as I'd be seeing it that weekend with my family) asking how it was. I resisted the urged to really give them my opinion and merely replied "just wait" :)

I think I was literally squealing as I watched it. My mom was watching Smallville with me and as she watched my reaction to the trailer, she just laughed.

While I watched it over and over again since I recorded Smallville just to get the teaser, they waited in line, and later that night I got about 10 text messages from people who saw the teaser and were floored by it. The rest of them told me how amazed they were by it at school the next day.

As far as we could tell, the greatest hero of them all was coming back with a vengeance.

Of course in the end, we were duped. But that trailer...that trailer just gives me CHILLS even today.

As far as initial teasers for superhero movies, DC is EASILY taking the taco. For that reason alone I can't wait for and can only imagine what the Green Lantern teaser is going to be like.

Black screen. There's a low hum. The sound of energy coursing through something...or perhaps the music starting up.

Suddenly a voice is heard:

"In brightest day..."

I CAN'T WAIT!

PS
Honorable mention goes to the original Spider-Man teaser. It had that same effect of not knowing what the movie was about until the end. I understand why they ended up not using it, but I wish they could have found a way to re-cut it and just have the chopper stuck between any random buildings or something. It was a great teaser.

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Iron Man
Iron Man 2 (The Comic Con one)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (The music is freaking awesome!)
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (The teaser with Ben's speech about the Jedi from ANH)
The Fanmade Green Lantern Trailer... That got taken down. :(

TDK's teaser. No images. Just the Joker's voice. For the 1st time.

Overall I was unimpressed with Wolverine's trailers, but I did like the part where he got shot and then made a growling sound. The growl coupled with the music gave me chills.

Yup. I remember first hearing it. I couldn't believe that was Ledger. Once I heard the laugh I knew we were gonna be in for something special. The laugh was just perfect.

The Cloverfield teaser.

It's probably the greatest trailer I have or will ever seen.
Oh and Up In The Air.

Disagreed. It's a cool trailer but there's alot better ones out there.

Indeed. It still is a good teaser though. The head of the stattue of liberty is great.

This one is fan made but it's great. The theatrical trailer for TWBB gives away too much.

Sith
300
TDK
Batman Begins
Watchen
SM3
Ghost Rider
Transformers

I was so excited when I saw this about seven years ago. I was disappointed with the actual movie, but the teaser caught me off guard. It got me excited for an actual Hulk movie.

The first Trailer for the Dark Knight I thought was very effective.

Some of my favourite trailers are:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
- Watchmen (The first trailer)
- The Dark Knight (The second trailer) It showed us the first footage of the film and really helped build the excitement following the teaser and the first few viral games.
- Superman Returns (The teaser trailer) The use of William's theme and Brando's voiceover really gave it a nostalgic and epic feel. It was better than the film.

The first Watchmen trailer was definitely excellent. I couldn't tell what I was watching because I hadn't read the GN yet, but it all looked so mysteriously awesome.

I was in the same boat as you. I assumed the blue man was evil. :o

I had to hold out for a day before I saw the trailer. I wanted to see it on the big screen. My God was it incredible. Once I saw Jon in the room I knew it was Watchmen. It was great probably being the only person knowing what the footage was.
